Take a look at the field and watch them in the paddock then watch them for a minute on the track... Look at their gate, point of the hips, fetlock, ears, nostrils, chest, and the slope of their back

@gjnice21 It's a not a crapshoot. Any given race, like a coinflip, can't be a sure thing. But if I give you $2 every time the coin comes up heads and you give me $1 every time it comes up tails, in the mathematical long run you will be ahead. It's a game or probabilities. Only wager on horses that the public has misplaced the probabilities of. If the public is underestimating the chance of a horse to win, it's like getting the $2 coin flip. No odds advantage = no bet.

If you study long enough, jockey booking, trainer, speed theyve run that distance, horses theyve beat and how good they are etc etc you can pick one or two winners a day. the reason people lose is doing yankees, or trebles or accumalators, or just backing favourites

James Quinn, Mark Cramer, Barry Meadow, Steve Davidowitz, Dick Mitchell, Andy Beyer... there are certainly several long-term winners. I like my way better, pick the horse with the best career, and if that info isn`t available, pcik the horse with the best odds, cause the bettors can`t be too far off. Simple as pie, and I`ve made pie before.

Most horses I pick will at least be on the board, most of my picks either win or place.

The betting odds divided by the number on the horse made no sense what so ever. Plus, a jockey cannot win 100% of the time, that's illegal. In addition, a jockey can be told to make the horse lose on purpose in order to increase the odds against him for the next race (so the owner and trainer can make more money).

Really the only way to win on a somewhat constant basis is to study all the trainer relationships with owners and jockeys.Trainers are key.

Do you relize that if a race horse is injured in a raced it is put down it happend once, a horse got hurt in the middle of a race and they went out and out uit down right there

they have to put down the horse - it's due to horse physiology, honest. I love animals. The problem is that when the leg is broken, the animal must keep its weight off the leg for it to heal ... but in horses their circulation is affected. it's complicated - but people have attempted to save horses before by suspending them on slings and the horses die. please look it up and trust that killing them is the most humane solution.

I don´t believe it is right to use an animal for money, whether you love it or not. Riding motorcycles is totally different. No lives other than your own are at stake there. I have no doubt many jockeys love their horses, but I disagree with using them in a sport that so many are hurt or killed in each year.
