I'm an Alabama fan so I thought and wanted to see Bama in there. But what VCU did was probally better then watching Bama get beat in an early round. What this VCU team dis made the tournament very fun and exciting to watch.
here's the thing. VCU had no business being in the tournament. i live in richmond and i like VCU. but there were better teams (virginia tech and alabama) that deserved it more than VCU. now, what VCU did when they got in was outstanding. but that does not mean they should have gotten in. but i will say this...i loved seeing the morris' cry
VCU had a higher RPI. So I guess your argument is that the RPI is meaningless. But that's not Bilas's arguemtn because he said Harvard should have gotten in due to their RPI.
VCU should not have gotten in the tourney. They should have done better in the regular season if they wanted to get in. It's like the regular season doesn't matter much anymore.
@boz987 What VCU did in the tournament is completely irrelevant to the argument that they and UAB didn't have the resumes that Colorado and multiple other teams had. People need to understand that. With that being said, it was an incredible story, and I am glad to see, yet, another George Mason. Say what you want about Bilas, but his argument was exactly on point to the issue being discussed.
@Boydsterdamis Please understand....VCU won their bracketbuster game against Creighton. Any team that wins there on a friday night in a hostile enviroment must be considered. They drubbed all of their opponents in the tourney. Exact on point? I think not. The NCAA knew and u should also. Proof in pudding.
@boz987 To start UAB should have never gotten in, Colorado was definately snubbed (only reason they didn't get in was the lost to San Fran) VCU was a shocker, their only big win was to WICHITA STATE, but had some horrible losses to South Florida (worst team in Big East), Northeastern and Drexel... The only ranked team they played was Tennessee and VCU ended up losing that game... Don't get me wrong VCU had a great tourney but they didn't belong.
@DCdorian They beat a ranked George Mason team in the semi's of the conference tourney. They made it to the championship game of a very underrated league. Guess the experts saw it a little different than u. They proved they belong....big time.
well u cant just go by stats always!!!!!!!!!! so jay bilas should of kept his mouth shut,, sometimes teams have bad season but they have the talent and thats wat the committee must of seen and these analyst missed it cuz they just look at numbers thats all, if there were good what they do they should of looked deeper, re looked at vcus tapes cuz vcu 's bench is serious, and alot of the other teams dont have a good bench like vcu's
As great as VCU has been (and I love their story), Bilas was right. VCU had no business playing in the tournament when selection Sunday came around. Both VT and Colorado had better tourney resumes than VCU, and even now, I can't figure out what the committee was thinking. VCU going on this run does not mean they earned their spot in the dance. I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is

@DCdorian Only reason Colorado didn't get in is because they ducked all the power teams in non-conference.

VCU didn't deserve to get in. Why? Because I have no opinions of my own and just go by what espn says.

I love the VCU story, but all you people hating on Bilas are just plain ignorant. That being said, I hope the VCU magic continues.

What an arrogant douchebag. Jay, the reason you weren't talking about VCU as a bubble team is you guys weren't doing your job.
