If you are not a US citizen then you are not allowed US rights. Prisoners of war and foreign terrorists have already been convicted of their guilt before entry via military intel. Actually the economic issues we are having right now stem back to as far as Carter. Most of the problems today are due to deregulation of business and a free market let run wild. Unfortunately that even to a large extent includes Clinton regardless of surplus made during his admin.

The US Constitution is the law of the land and under that parameter means that protects every human being in US soil regardless of nationality. It goes under a simple principle "if the goverment grants you, the goverment can take it away." If you take away liberty from a human being, you must grant him basic rights.

Regarding abortion. I dont think abortion is right, but I believe in the right of a woman to choose over her own body. These prisoners shouldn't be given the civil liberties that we have, yet it is rather funny that the same News broadcast that backed the torture in Gitmo, is now turning it on the Obama administration and using it against him. Plus we DIDN'T have a say in the second election because he was kept in office due to the electoral vote not the popular vote, which Gore won!

Im not a huge Bush fan, and I dont strongly oppose him,. but we can't fairly compare him to other presidents throughout history SIMPLY due to the fact that strict media scrutently was not a factor for most of history, and is the NUMBER 1 factor which sways American's decisions today on who they want for a president. And the problem with Fox and ANY network is we seem to forget that their #1 goal is money, they're not bound to tell the WHOLE truth and they CAN AND WILL deceive us for ratings.

Sorry to tell you this, but the Bush administration alone wasn't responsible for the economic situation. They did make the situation worse by blowing a budget surplus and creating an unemployment crisis after Clinton left things smoothly running for them. But the housing bubble collapsed on it's own.

Does that mean Bush could have done nothing to prevent the situation? No, he could've avoided his jackass tax cuts and kept the budget surplus to make things easier on the job market.

Actually the economic issues we are having right now stem back to as far as Carter. Most of the problems today are due to deregulation of business and a free market let run wild. Unfortunately that even to a large extent includes Clinton regardless of surplus made during his admin.
But as yet to date, Bush deregulated the free market in ways that pushed the downward spiral even faster.
I'm all for capitalism, but unfortunately I don't get to vote how a corporation runs and distributes it's net.

Though I will allow for the importance of ACLU's job, I think that they sometimes choose their battles for shock value more than for legitimate concern for constitutional rights (like Nazis marching in Jewish neighborhoods). If the ACLU wanted to perform it's function more effectively, it would seek to help Congress more clearly design and define existing laws with an eye to making them constitutional BEFORE they are challenged,

The US Constitution is the law of the land and under that parameter means that protects every human being in US soil regardless of nationality. It goes under a simple principle "if the goverment grants you, the goverment can take it away." If you take away liberty from a human being, you must grant him basic rights.
But even that is besides the point. The US is bound by the Geneva convention under art. 10 which assumes innocence untill proven guilty

Regarding abortion. I dont think abortion is right, but I believe in the right of a woman to choose over her own body. If we legislate aborion we shall make it illegal for a woman to drink while in gestation, or smoke. Even when we know is wrong, NO GOVERMENT SHALL DICTATE OVER AN INDIVIDUALS BODY.
