  • 11:45 I'm a tough bottom too! Gwahahaha! XD Never thought I'd say that. lol

  • @HappyAtheist76 You SAY it GURL! XD

  • @Divinity33372 Haha! :P

  • Awesome video Div :) My personal preferences are wide and varied. lol :D Attraction is the main reason I gravitate towards certain people and I'm more fluid than I used to give myself credit for.

  • I hope this video really does start a conversation. I would love to become more knowledgeable on this subject and really, its not an experience you can just read a book or two on the subject and be able to understand.

  • I've ran into the same problem as a hetero switch myself.

I've met a very attractive pre-op, that I've had to confess, that I can't go there.

I'm simply not bi enough, to twiddle a twig, that's not my own.

Of course having experienced my own reactions, I am biased, but I agree, that these autonomic reactions that you and I share, do not imply fear of bisexuality, or of homosexuality, but an awareness of self, that we're simply not that way. That's all.

    Thank you, wonderful vid.

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts Div. :) The only thing that I could really add is that Buck Angel is a God. He's hella sexy. ;)

    Laurel

  • I agree with every word you say. Seriously, you're awesome.

  • You could tye my skinny ass up anytime Div. :)

  • I have a similar view but the other way around (sounds a bit strange but I'll explain..)

I like women, I like womens anatomy. While I have no problems with the idea of being with a trans woman (I'd be a hypocrite if I did as I am trans) it would have to be post op, I just don't like dick. I'm also a switch so I need someone who's my anatomical tastes

It's a bit strange tbh because I do find some men attractive and even a turn on, untill it gets to thoughts of actualyl doing anything

  • Tall... Skinny... White... Kinda Nerdy?.... Hmmmm.

I don't find jewish girls that attractive. Does that make me Anti-semtic, or that I just I don't want a Jewish Mother and Mother in Law? I generally am a sucker for blue eyed shiska's, but my tastes go all directions.

When you talk about your friend, having read a fair bit of erotica written by women, some of the things they enjoy freaks me out, and I thought I had some kinky/dark fantasies.

  • @TheBoyFromNorfolk "When you talk about your friend, having read a fair bit of erotica written by women, some of the things they enjoy freaks me out, and I thought I had some kinky/dark fantasies."

Watch out for the quiet lasses! They will really bring a blush to your cheek and a curl to your hair. ;)

  • As Woody Allen says, "the heart wants what the heart wants."

  • Sexuality is a complex thing. There are some races and ethnicities I find more attractive than others, and admittedly black women are down toward the bottom of the list, but there's always exceptions. Sexual preferences and fetishes should be partitioned off from the rest of a person's social life. When I talk about dismantling systems of domination, I always like to add "unless you're into that sort of thing."

  • re: Dom/sub

I have a friend that is a domme, and she said the same things you said regarding subs. In fact, she told me that many subs are very demanding, or passive-aggressive.

  • @SiriusMined A lot of subs aren't submissive at all. They top from the bottom. They are pretending to be sub because that gets them off.

  • That a woman wasn't attracted to me never stopped me from thinking that she's a dynamite lady :-)

    I don't think you're racist.

Myself, I don't really have preferences, although I tend to notice latinas, east indian, asian and jewish girls first. But I find women of all ethnic backgrounds pretty cool.

  • Let me see....

    tall - check

    nerdy - check

    white - halfway

    skinny - drat

    :-)

  • The way I see it, a man is born male, a woman is born a female, and as far as I am concerned, this never changes.... no matter how much surgery is done. You are what you were born as. This is not to say I am against trans people....but it is the sole reason why I would not even consider getting it on with a anyone except a woman who was born female.

  • Guess I should stop dating fat women

  • I've been attracted to people of all colors at one point or another, but I suppose I do have my preferences. I tend to be most attracted to white and Arab men. I am attracted to black men if they have certain features, like dred locks or very piercing eyes. I don't feel that I'm racist just because I have preferences, either.

  • I'm into everyone, no matter the colour or gender. If they're adult humans no more than ten years my elder or eight years my junior I'm down... wait... does that make me ageist?

    D=

  • I am a white woman who is not, in general, attracted to white men. My attraction is probably shaped by my previous experiences with white men, but I don't *dislike* white men. I'm not ashamed of my ethnicity, I don't judge people based on their skin color, I don't exclude people from my life based on skin color, and thus I do not believe this preference makes me racist. I have to apply this same logic to people who want to date within their own race.

  • You don't like pussy? NO!!!! My world is so gray now T__T Rainy dull and grey T__T lmao j/k but yea I agree you are into what you are into and as long as the person can and does give consent have at it Hoss. ;-) With me sometimes I like men more sometimes I like women more it just depends on my mood. Though I don't like to gag at all I have Emetophobia and need to be medicated when I get sick like that. XD It's probably a good thing I don't get hangovers/sick even when I drink like a fish. ^__^

  • Ah, sub space ;) I agree, you can't vilify people for their genuine attractions/non-attractions, especially if one believes orientation is from birth.

(I personally think it's fluid, and the GLBTQ community shouldn't have to justify themselves with such an argument. Whether it's from birth or not is moot IMO. freedom of choice, baby.)

For me, the question is whether or not the person is genuinely unattracted, or dislikes a given person/exclude them as an option due to unjustified hate/bias.

  • I think where people have a problem with the fact of I am attracted to red heads, and say that I am racist is they think that just because I am attracted to that on type that I won't go for anything else! But they are wrong, I have dated and have almost done a world trip, if you know what I mean! I love a woman's body, everything! But I find that I am more partial to red heads! So... I guess the question is, not what your attracted to, but with that attraction is that all you will look at!

  • "Yep....yep" was what I was saying through out the whole vid. =)

  • Somehow I get the feeling if I said these things, of which I agree, I would be labled a racist. I've dated all kinds of women just to prove I'm worldly.

  • I agree with you. I know you don't like her, but Iremythpurr did a video about the "are you transphobic if you're a lesbian and you won't date a transwoman?" issue. She said no, it doesn't make you transphobic because, like you said, "you like what you like." I have met lesbians who don't mind being with transwomen, and some do mind. It's just sexual preference and there's nothing "phobic" about it. LOL "I like Dick!" XD Btw BDSM is fun.

  • @fruitikay I saw the video in question, and it was one of the few times I ever agreed with IMP on anything. I read the original post by Xander Sariskova (sp?), and it was positively ridiculous. That said, I think Xander's views are an outlier among trans activists, and IMP and other transphobic radfems are just using it as ammo. And 5 will get you 10 that IMP wouldn't be nearly so magnanimous to somebody who was attracted to women, but not into fat women.

  • @iamcuriousblue Actually that article was one of the things that inspired this video.

  • You don't like pussy!?!?!? :O OMG?!?!? How can you be so racist!?!? Some'a my best friends are pussies!! >_>

  • .................

  • I am not attracted to someone's color. That'd be like being attracted to them for having huge breasts.

You have to be attracted to someone for more then a physical characteristic or feature. Color isn't a choice either.

  • I am attracted to any female that'll have me lol.

  • @GodlessManitoban You are so cute though!

  • @kelliko70

    Oh dear *blush*

  • Oh man I saw a horrible interview on Lockup on MSNBC. This man was in jail for murder because he fell in love and married a transsexual person. Afterwards he found out she was a transsexual. So he murdered her on the side of the road :-/

  • Growing up in an all white environment has shaped my preferences. But what has shaped me more than skin color is culture. As the cultures mix and merge between ethnic groups, I find that my options and tastes in the realm of these racial groups has expanded with the expanding of culture in the world. Preferences don't make you racist.

Aesthetics is just a door. You don't know what's inside the room until you open that door.

  • I think there may be more than one kind of racism, and more than one kind of sexism. I am not sure you can escape the fact that there is a kind of stereotyping in sexual preference. How can you say you don't find a whole race sexually appealing?

Skin color has just never been relevant to my sexual preference.

  • @zarkoff45 skin color seems to be more relevant to society than it is to me. I might have preference. However, the world keeps reminding me I have a preference.

    Acting White

    /watch?v=2K3V-WQ40IY

  • Ohhhh, didn't know what "top", "bottom", "switch" meant. Heard it before, never understood it.

  • (cont) Also, when they try to justify their lack of attraction with some sort of rationalization ('cause you can't just not be attracted to someone, there has to be an objective basis for it). Like lesbian radfems who aren't into trans women, but they have to explain it by calling trans women things like "fake" or trying to re-label other lesbian couples as straight because one is trans. That's when they're showing they aren't just not-attracted, they actually have some bigotry behind it.

  • @sasugakirin - I agree.

Just being disinterested is one thing, and that isn't telling of anything on it's own.

But a hostile or revoltion, reaction, that takes it over the line from disinterest. At that point, it's telling.

  • I think a good measure if it's phobic is how you react to it. Just not being attracted to a particular race or to trans people is one thing, but people who react with open disgust are the ones that actually have racist or transphobic feelings. If I see a naked woman, it doesn't do anything for me physically, but I don't cringe and go "EWWW!" If someone just says they're not into you, that's one thing, but when they have to react in a disgusted and hostile manner, that's suspicious.

  • @sasugakirin I don't think so. You can be physically repulsed by what you see and still believe they deserve the same rights that you do.

  • @thethegreenmachine That's why I said it's suspicious, not conclusive. A person who reacts to their feelings of repulsion with a calm head and doesn't let it control them is taking the right path ... a person who flaunts that disgust and becomes openly insulting and hostile is crossing the line.

  • @sasugakirin Yeah, flaunting would be a bad sign.

  • If I get skinny then you might be attracted to me!!!!!

  • It's impossible to tell your body what looks, or genders, or body types, or types of sex, etc, that it must or mustn't respond to. It just won't listen. Your body tells you! :)

  • So you are attracted to Onision...

  • @Monsieur421 Onision is NOT nerdy. He's a douchebag. Distinct difference there ;p

  • @thecryptqueen One can be a douchebag AND be attractive :)

  • @Monsieur421 Yeah, but I know attractive douchebags. Onision is not one of them ;p

  • @thecryptqueen Don't get me wrong: Onision is not my type of woman! However, it seems that most of his numerous fans are of the weaker sex... like he is some sort of Justin Bieber for the 15+ girls. So, in my opinion, he is objectively attractive...

And maybe you are secretly attracted to him too :P

  • @Monsieur421 So he's the (dubious) choice of people who have very little discernment, experience or taste. Like I said ;p

And I am not attracted to that whiny pig in the slightest.

  • @Monsieur421 "One can be a douchebag AND be attractive" NOT to me. At first sight maybe but when I learn their personality that changes REAL quick. I don't care what they look like if their a douche.

  • @Divinity33372 He who is cutey, at the and of the day is still cutey, even if he is full of shit.

So you may find him despicable, and yet desire being hold tight in his skinny arms :P

  • @Monsieur421 ..."at the END of the day"....

  • @Monsieur421 Maybe in your opinion but I would be careful about projecting your standards on to others.

  • @Divinity33372 My standards... I am not the one who is attracted by skinny white boys!!!!

  • @Monsieur421 Sorry, but BLEH. I'm not even into guys, and Onision is very much not my type. He's a toothpick.

Plus, the guy's a fucking moron. He proudly admits that he hasn't opened a book since he got out of high school. As a writer and vociferous reader, I think there's something fundamentally wrong with people who don't read.

Like Div said - looks don't matter if that person's personality is repugnant. An ugly personality makes even the prettiest person gross, to me.

  • @thecryptqueen Yes, for sure! With Onision, it's like a village is missing its idiot!

That said, sexual attraction is something physical and not intelectual, and you don't have sex with the personality :p

So you can be sexually attracted to someone who is morally at the opposite of your values!

  • @Monsieur421 What I should say is probably closer to: I couldn't imagine myself having sex with Onision and still respecting myself as a human being. Like, for me, he's not the bottom of the barrel, he's the stony, slimy masonry underneath the barrel where the mold grows and the silverfish have their vacation homes.

YOU might be attracted to people who are morally opposing to your values, but I generally am not.

  • @Monsieur421 Uhm, just because someone is attracted to a certain feature or body type doesn't mean they're going to automatically be attracted to every single person with that feature. Especially if the feature is as broad as something like "skinny" or "nerdy".

  • @Monsieur421 perhaps if she was in a top/sadist mode...

Granted, with Onision even I'd be in sadist mode (a rarely observed, but theoretically possible event). I'd give him a safeword that I'd TOTALLY listen to...and an inflatable gag pumped up to about the size of New Jersey.

  • I have soft spots for redheads, glasses, goths and so on. Because these are the things I'd 'go for' doesn't mean I'm biased against those that don't fit. However, My last three relationships have been with a blonde and two brunettes, only one had glasses only two were goths... If you find yourself attracted to someone outside of your normal fair... you'd have to be an idiot to deny yourself on the grounds they didn't fit an abstract ideal.

  • I really don't understand the question (well I do but..). We like who we like and it is not who we love or want to have sex with or what ever, that say if we are a racist. It is how we treat people that say if we are. Regards and have a skilful time. Pinge

  • A nonbinary I know told me I was a bigot for having a sexual orientation :s. There is one guy I know that constantly bitches and moans about being alone, yet refuses to date an Asian.

  • I think most people have certain things they "go after" whether it be racial characteristics like skin tone or other physical features like weight. I have found that in spite of that, I have been attracted to many people who were not "my type" and subsequently that became a new type that I am attracted to. Also I have had bad relationships and whatever that persons type (in my own definition) I find myself no longer attracted to that type.

  • What about "nerdy bikers"?

  • Seems like there is a peanut gallery willing to assert their opinion no matter who you sleep with. Fuck it

  • Well I'm your type ^^

  • So you like Richard Coughlan?

There, your first trolling of the day.

  • @perodjetlic He's not bad looking.

  • @Divinity33372 I wrote that because you said several times that you like "dick" and you were expecting to get trolled.

  • @perodjetlic

Ah, you made me LOL. Well done.

  • Glad to know you mentioned the importance of having a Dominant who knows what they are doing! I get this type of thing all the time. You like this? No, no how can you? Black people are not into D/s or S/m (this is from all groups). How can you proclaim to not participate in misogyny if you are turned on by this? Man I tell ya...people and their preconceived notions. People attempt to smother others with their morality!

I personally do not care if I am attracted to a woman, (cont)

  • @EuphoricImpact (part2) but she is not attracted to black men. That is how the cookie crumbles. This says nothing, to me, about what she stands for and how she lives her life. My thing is this...if you do not like the person outside of the superficial physical attributes then why are you doing anything with them (relationship wise)? I would not be in a "meaningful relationship" with any woman who's mind and heart does not do it for me. Great topic! Feel better soon.

  • @EuphoricImpact Exactly! And like that MadTV skit sometimes someone will date a person of color to purposely seem PC even if it doesn't really do anything for them. I think that would be insulting to the person of color they are dating. "You're dating me to make a statement and not because I genuinely do it for you" type thing.

  • I totally agree with you. For me, race doesn't really have much influence on who I find attractive, but I do prefer a medium skin tone. My partner is half East Indian half White, and his skin tone is perfect. Although, I've had good relationships with White guys, Mexican guys, Asian guys, like I said, race isn't a big deal for me, but I prefer medium toned skin, or I guess light brownish. To me that's kind of like a bisexual who prefers men to women.

  • @ChuckMeIntoHell As for the trans-phobia, I also agree, however I find trans men VERY attractive. After hormones, that is. Prior to that, they just seem like women to me. Although Buck Angel isn't really my type, he's to muscular, but I could look past the genitals if the face and voice and everything is masculine. Although, like you, I would rather pleasure a cock, than a pussy. ;-)

  • It sounds to me like your not swearing off black men altogether, rather you simply haven't encountered one that has quite the look and personality you look for.

  • @TheMessianicManic No I never "swear off" anyone all together. If I came across someone who was not what I'm usually attracted to and they "did it for me" I would definitely go there. I just know what tends to "do it for me." Ya know :)

  • @TheMessianicManic I think a lot of it comes to down to personality. When I was in high school, I would see some black chicks who had a punkish style, flippy bangs, and they didn't have the stereotypical ghetto attitude which I found to be a turn off. It has nothing to do with skin, as some white chicks have that attitude as well and it's turn off for me there too, and I don't even prefer white chicks. I like Latinas and Asians. xP But nah Divinity, you're not racist. :)

  • @TheMessianicManic And when I say turn off I mean the ghetto attitude is a turn off, not the punkish style. That could never be a turn off, obviously xD
