  • Somewhere out there is a jingle or production music afficianado who knows who produced the music package for WSBK. Used to watch 38 on cable in upstate new york and always thought the station had a certain class to it - especially the Movie Loft and Dana Hersey!

  • What year was this movie theme created in?

  • um... about 1977 when the TV38 logo launched.

  • The voiceover for this spot was done by Bill Smith...The voice former voice of Mike 93.7 and Production Director of WRKO.

  • Could someone please post more of these old TV38 clips if you have them?

  • man do I feel old now

  • WOW!! I haven't seen this in years...what a flashback! Thanks for posting it!

  • Wow, I came looking for this, and I found it. Reminds me of playing with MASK toys on the rug and watching movies when I was like 5, hahah

  • What else do you have? This is awesome! I think we have to start a Boston TV Nostalgia site. I just found some other stuff from channel 56. The real gem would be some old channel 25 stuff before it became FOX.

  • that's rihgtm WXNE what the name even before it becam WFXT COME ON now i'll bet nobody knew that

  • wait so what does nostalgia mean?

  • did anyone ever see dana hersey in later years on Channel 68's "Film Loft"? sad.

  • This opening/closing was not used for WSBK's prime-time movies once the station had Dana Hersey hosting them as "The Movie Loft".

  • I remember when TV38 was on my cable system in the mid 1980's. They had the same openeing sequence for Movie Greats, but done in a different color scheme and used a different song instead of the Movie 38. It sounded more majestic as opposed to the disco sound.

  • Now they're becoming independent again because of a rival network becoming the new CW affiliate. Maybe it's for the best but TV 38 is going to lose a lot of money and they need to fill the void so to speak.

  • Ah,yes, before they sold out to UPN.

  • interesting.

  • I remember this as well. Thanks for posting this. TV38 was one of the greatest channels ever!

  • I remember this from the early 1980s when I was a kid.

  • I remember that when I was a kid. I thought the colored shooting stars were cool!

  • Was there always a voice-over every time this intro played?
