yall got some cool stuff out west. staying in the non venomous realm in Ga SC area the only cool common snakes we have kings and rats. the main snake i find are racers garters and water snakes and i hate them all. they just musk on and bite everything
i always go snake hunting i line in nova scotia and so far i found 2 or 3 northorn red belly snakes i got alot of ring neck snakes i cant even count and i found 5 garder snakes im wondering if thats all the snakes you find in lawrence town
biggest coach whips are on the burnt wood in Nebraska, first whites told of 20 footers but today they top out at about 14 foot, never seen one bite anyone, have been chased by them and they are fast, very fast for short distances.
as for rattlers, kill them all don't want them washed down to Nebraska, we loose enogh livestock to rattler snakes
Hey Joe, What part of Colorado are you in? Next summer I'm driving from Houston to Buena Vista, and I've never gotten a chance to see the cool wildlife. Also if you know of any good spots to check, hook me up.
were in CO do you find such a variety, ive found corn snakes and sw black head'd snakes near montrose. were do you find king snakes, and ringnecks. ive looked for rattlers and cant find any. all we have in crested butte are garter's, nothing else
Nice trip. Would you consider sharing your knowledge? I have only been to John martin resevoire. found about 30 sistrus and 1 heterodon in 2 days the end of aug. last year. Would love to find some lampropeltis! I know alot of sweet spots in fl. tx. az. ect... but nothing here. As you know the snakes don't read the field guides. Thank you
Tomato juice? Okay, I'll remember that. I smell them on occasion when I'm hiking but never seen one -- alive, that is, in the wild. Just dead ones on the road. Is that southern Colorado?
Damn! That was one intense session bro. That night snake was sick, as were the speckled kings. Not to mention the coach. Rattlesnakes are always nice to see. Jeesh you guys got it good over there.
