I think you:
1-Should somehow introduce yourself to Paul Gilbert, maybe you could perform with him
2-Maybe to play in a trio for some concerts, like a G3,with fernando myiata and hedras ramos, because i elected them really NEW like you are,not a "little bit different copy of the past" as many others are.
Ascoltato live!!! Indimenticabile!

uhm, first thought its a strat with a scalloped fretboard... now im not sure if its just the lighting or worse, my vision's going bonkers LOL scalloped or not..? :)
I have to say that this performance is stunning. I love the haunting, triplety main theme and the dazzling tapping sequences are great. Beautiful mix of over the top technique and musicality. Great solo as well, i guess i can't say enough good things about this song.
Keep up the innovative solo work MR. Gottardo, and my best wishes for you and your career.
P.D.: I RARELY....read well, RARELY comment on other people's work. This one made me type, though.
This is the second video I've watch in a row of this amazing player, but I have to say that It's very fatiguing music to listen to. I think the guy is an ultra great player, but I don't like the music.
im almost positive you wont reply to this lol...but do you use light strings to bend them that easily...ive got medium to heavy elixirs on mine and i cant seem to get the same bending perfection that you have....but then again its probably just me :P
hey thanks i really appreciate it...and keep putting up great music peices...for real i totally understand and love your style...please post any news on your cd...ill be the first to buy 10 copies! :)
I thought that I'd add that the scalloped fretboard helps A TON with bending ease. Your finger wraps around the string because of the lack of fretboard and bending becomes a cinch even with heavy gauge strings!
@omnioblivion Huge frets and/or the scalloped board help immensely with ease of bending. I've got giant frets on the black Peavey Tracer in my vids and it is a joy to bend on. Give the frets or scalloped board a try if you can.
5/5+fav
I love the technique, but also really enjoy his respect for various genres, and look forward to him maturing and encorporating more into his reportoire... right now it's mostly razzle dazzle and not enough "musical statement" ... Gotty could be the next Vai... heck, better than Vai... enjoy the ride!
Freaking Brilliant man...but did you cheat and use a string dampener...lol...jk...it doesn't matter. I loved it man....looking forward to seeing more and purchasing albums.
This guy is an out right genius , jeesus , al hail gottyboy and all you haters by the looks of things you are pretty envious but I tell ya it can only inspire us mortals to get better.
What are doing? running around to all his videos crying about the Hair tie? What a cry baby. Show some videos of you playing anything even close...and maybe someone would actually listen to you.
its not flawless if you have to use something to dampen string noise. even though it is a good comp, i still think you should do without the hair tie.
You fucking piece of shit. Do you have a clue about 8 finger tapping? Surely not. It's a MUST to use the hair tie for advanced 8 finger tapping and you would never understand that till you do it yourself, jerk. Even Guthrie Govan uses a hair tie cause he plays shit at that level. It's not CHEATING by any means. Learn to know about something before posting shit like this.
lol well prety much, you see when he is tapping, instead of leading with the left hand so the open notes are muted, he leads with his right in places, which means taping on an open string and then removing that hand so that a note can ring when he taps with his left hand, in between this an open note can ring and sound horrible, so the hair tie stops any open notes from ringing, its very hard to get your technique to a point with tapping where no open notes ring out by accident.
@adibahl There are enough examples of people who do it without one though: Chris Broderick, Buckethead, Steve Vai (not sure about 8-finger, but I've never seen him use one) Bumblefoot, etc, etc... Anyways, all I'm saying is that it isn't NECESSARY. Neither are scalloped frets.
@InsaneClownBitch I equate those things with compression. I find compression, for the most part, is like a safety net for a lack of practice. Some people do have brilliant compression tone (EJ for example), but for the most part I find it takes away the dynamics of the music. Sure it's all prim and proper, but where's the meat? where's the soul? I'd be far more impressed if every other shredder out there today didn't use one of these things.
@adibahl what's the hair tie for? I always assumed it was meant to silence the strings that could be left vibrating openly (to prevent unwanted noises). But wouldn't that make impossible the playing of open strings?
@fechi5 take it off quickly and then you can, since his chords normally don't use open strings, but he taps a lot, makes the sound more compressed on the tapping, eliminating some ruids when he switches strings for example in the tapping, these are my thoughts anyway...
It's been while since I watched someone and said....wow....ok....All I cannow is wow....not only flawless technique but very high level composition as well....show me your CD and I am buying.
