  • damien walters, jackie chan could win

  • He has told hundreds of times that he is from Michigan

  • what on earth, i would probably fall, if not barely make it even on that very first challenge

  • only chinese people can do that but well done

  • @ShahadParkourMiah Only Chinese on a Japanese show? Weird.

  • levi mewemburgheaiofasd;nfaovih

  • how can i watch full episodes if idont live in the states

  • @pwnabtch BBBOXER44

  • @ninjaspence21 If u swing to much u hit the ledge to hard it got to be smooth and it's a hard timing

  • China must be training their kids for this as we speak.

  • @zannteo this is japan

  • I remember seeing this for the first time on TV, he was close on it, but he, too me, should have swung with more momentum to reach that third ledge. he would have gotten far.

  • Aww man Levi was so close I jus watched all 3 of his stages!! Good job man

  • I love how they're helping each other. That's just awesome.

  • I'd like to see a pro rock climber do this! they'd make it look so easy!

  • takeda's face at 3:26 is hilarious

  • ezio could have done that easily...

  • oh...in germany the show is famous for the "intelligent" comments of the moderators :DD (just take a watch xD)

  • levi you represent michigan proud

  • Yea, a pro climber would probably kill that cliff hanger. the thing is stage 1 and 2 were more like levi's stuff. This is more climbing than parkour. Shear strength/weight ratio and endurance is what you need here.

  • And this cliffhanger is waaay easier than the new one. That new cliffhanger is just..... O_o

  • @jaraha you mean the ultimate cliff hanger..

  • @dufyholy - yes, the ultimate cliffhanger is the new cliffhanger.

  • Nagano eyes at 3:25 is pretty funny.

  • @smellymewi the guy right next to him looks retarded.

  • You'd have to be 7 feet tall and pure muscle to get past that last cliffhanger but maybe you wouldn't even reach the end because of the fatigue from the other challenges.

  • i would love to have nagano as my coach

  • Nagano...!!! Takeda...!!! BEST..

  • the designers got that last part wrong, with the large gap, i mean its bad enough having to go vertical on the cliff hanger, but to make it a massive drop down and lots of width to cover... its way too tricky to be able to get past it... with that this may aswell be the final stage,

  • @TheThousands ive gotten past ledge gaps like that in the past, its just after doing the other stages before, especially the one with the, uhh, were those padlocks he was hanging from?

  • Probably too much momentum in that last reach?

  • i made my own ninja warrior

  • Those all tasks are a joke to an indor climber.. Ninja warrior..

  • @GergelyMA

If that's the case winning the $250,000 should be relatively easy if what you say holds true. Assuming you're an "indoor-climber" what's holding you back from qualifying and then breezing through the event?

  • Agirlisagun! Hi! Im suprised how naiv people are. Do u think indor climbers and other climbers did not try to qualify? Sure they did, but simply have a look on the people, who cold join. Lof of sport activitys but noething to do with climbing. The show must be good, and they cannot afford, that a climber runs through all the tasks. But Agirlisagun, please ask any climber on which difficulty level he\she would put those tasks.Check out some climbing championships, what they can do! This is a joke!

  • yeah that jump is kind've impossible

  • that's all straight up rock climbing skills

  • @bulldogstinger Ok noone cares I bet they hate this fucking language to.. I bet if you tried the language you would sound like a fucking idiot.

  • that new cliff hanger is impossible

  • @Davelad071 yh i her you but the new rope swing is possible lol

  • Can somebody tell me how the devils steps are at all hard?

  • Just got back from a fitness equipment website; its just sheer insanity out there. All those supplements, all those gadgets, its just, oh my god.

I mean Jesus I just want to be able to lift a milk carton when I'm 80! If I get to be 80.

  • thank you charles atlas, for keeping it simple.

however I'm enhancing the workout with a pair of 10 lb dumbells, and a 6lb sledge hammer.

a sledge hammer, two 10 lb dumbells, and a couple of chairs. That's my "gym." I'm a Daoist like that. Oh yeah I also got ankle and wrist weights, but I use them to hold the chairs in place.

  • nice people, those japanese. so polite

  • @AurynThePaladin

easiest parts? he had to make a jump and grab on with only his finger tips. Take a barbell, load it with 160lbs of weight, then have it dropped and see if you ca catch it with just your fingertips

  • @AurynThePaladin I'd like to see you do any of that instead of typing behind your keyboard.

  • one thing I noticed about top ninja warrior contestants, is that they all have occupations that develop the grip. While this may be a bit tough to swallow, I think an american rodeo rider would have a good chance; they're certainly brainless enough to try for one, and they have an exceptionally strong grip.

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 thats actually a really good point. that would be interesting to see a rodeo rider actually try this out

  • this obstacle course really pisses me off; I mean, it was SO made for Bruce Lee, sadly it came 40 years too late.

  • Had this course existed in the late 60's or early 70's would Bruce Lee have taken it on?

Absolutely; according to Bruce Lee biographers if it was an insane athletic challenge, Bruce Lee wanted to take it on.

  • Bruce Lee could have made it through;

5'7, strong as hell, ridiculously agile, incredibly well focused, and his forearms were STRONG, according to his wife Linda he was a "forearm fanatic." I think Bruce Lee did like 100 different forearm exercises to develop his grip, oh yeah, before I forget, 140 lbs even, no fat.

Bruce Lee would have made it.

  • jackie prob could reach stage 4 too

  • 10 years ago, and although he's still agile he's way past his prime. Jackie Chan was at the peak of his skills in the early 1990's, but, all the injuries over the years have finally taken their toll, and even Chinese medicine has its limits.

  • seriously though dude without "Popeye" forearms, don't even go near this thing.

  • He just had to move his hand just a little bit.

  • He almost had it!!

  • Dang. He almost had it.

  • takeda and nagano are great blokes, helping him out like that very gracious.

  • i just got offered a partnershop meaning i would get paid because of this video but i cant accept because as i mentioned its g4's video

  • The thing that's great about most ninja warrior contestants is that they aren't exactly competing against each other, they're literally just competing against the course, and they love to see their fellow competitors make it through.

  • @wallmunky503 when it comes to the contestants they really do show sportsmanship its not like a reality show where they go "i dont know bout him but he goin down" thats what makes ninja warrior great :D

  • @bladewolf39 true but you can see "fuck yeah hahahaha" written on their face as someone falls.

  • @wallmunky503 exactly the same as golf, speed cubing and skateboarding.

  • This has been said before, but nice sportsmanship by nagano :)

  • I like Nagano, I was very happy to see him finally beat stage four that time. Very nice of him to help Levi at the globe grasp.

  • wow nagano is my hero... he is a very honorable man..

  • Sasuke 20, it aired back in March of 2008.

  • wow. this 3rd stage was the hardest one i've seen yet. globe grasp, devil steps, and cliff hanger all in a row?

  • they are so awesome the all stars supported him so much and he repsected them so great hope he comes back for the next one.

  • why have these faggots raped the page talkin shit about 'soccer' and 'football' kmt

  • Agreed....

  • read this reply bitch

  • rofl 3:27

hahahahaha hes like FUCK YOU WHITE BOY

    cocksucker

  • so who won here?

  • most good NFL and NBA players would be to big or heavy for this course. They cant just train on the course and beat it. And no NBA and NFL aren't the toughest sports in the world

  • what does size have to do with the course? moast NFL players can lift near double there weight, and a lot of them can run close to olympic time 100's or 400 meter dash times

  • i wish a real american athlete would compete in these

  • You do realize that an american olympics gymnastics gold medalist regularly competes, right? He hasn't made it past the first stage lately, though...

  • still i'd like to see Lebro James, Kobe Bryant, Adrian Peterson, or Tiger Woods compete. they would have a lot more coordination, and have a lot of strenghth too. That's a lot more then Levi would have.

  • I'm sorry... but none of those guys would really stand much of a chance. They develop very specific skills that are adapted to their specific game... Ninja Warrior requires a level of all-around athletic ability combined with agility and dexterity that is only really approached by gymnastics or (apparently) parkour/free running.

If they all trained a LOT, they might stand a chance, since they are physically fit guys... but they couldn't just show up and dominate... or even be competent.

  • still you don't reralize the kind of training these athletes put in, it's not like in the off-season they sit at home, and play video games, these guys train hard year round, and they train almost every muscle in their bodies. they could easily out run, or lift almost 99% of the people that our on this show. Another thing you aren't realizing is that, you say they have "skills that adapt to the specific game"? NFL, and NBA playershave to be able to adjust on every level, which they do every day

  • Actually, the Ninja Warrior athletes are known for their dedication to the show. The "All-Stars" of the show are notorious for training hard year round and practicing on life-size replicas of the actual course... so it's par for the course that they shouldn't rest.

However, sports aren't just based on physical ability. And each sport requires different muscle groups. It's why Kobe doesn't play for the NFL... he'd be no good. Same concept for this. These sportsmen have no practice at this stuff

  • Also, when your young your supposed to play more then 1 sport. you can always transfer over skills, that you learn from lets say basketball onto the football field.

  • You can be good at every single sport and still be bad at Sasuke. It's not just about physical fitness. It's also about build, agility, practice, experience, and just plain raw talent.

Think of Sasuke like another pro sport. You wouldn't take a player out of the NFL and immediately stick him into the Chicago bulls, or the US Olympic swim team, would you?

Same concept here. While they might eventually be good at it, they have no inherent advantages over the current serious competitors.

  • Yeah actually you could. You could easily throw Lebron James onto the football field, since he was better at football then he was at basketball. Anyway i understand what your saying, but with a little sasuke training a NFL or NBA player could be really good at the course. They already have the whole physical part of the course down, all they need is a little adjustment to the course.

  • i agree with you but its more mental then pysical fitness

  • Also, I rather bet they couldn't outrun an Olympic Decathlete (which competed, but couldn't get past the first stage on his last attempt), or outlift professional lifters, which also compete. In fact, world class pro athletes compete fairly often and almost never get very far.

Levi only got so far because he's one of the few "pro" free runners. He devotes himself to it and it happens to put him through very similar obstacles daily. He's got practice, talent, and training...

  • ok, even if thet couldn't out run a decathlete, or a power lifter, they still would waste the power lifter in a race, and demolish a decathlete in a lifting competion. What your not seeing here is that, these are the most versatile athletes in the WORLD. They can bench 350lbs, and then still run a 4.3 40 yard dash time. And you say NBA players couldn't play in the NFL? Almost all of the NBA players played high school football and were succesful.

  • Nevertheless... they have the wrong build for this kind of thing. Most of the reason a lot of people fall or fail in these stages is because they're either not agile enough (football players and basketball players might be fine here) or too top heavy (football players would fail there).

The pro players you're talking about are no more physically fit than any of the ninja warrior all stars, and they don't have the benefit of any sort of experience at these kinds of obstacles.

  • Also, the Decathlete that competes is a big guy, he could probably bench more than most basketball players. He's got more endurance and speed as well. He's also very agile and a good jumper because of the kinds of things he has to do in competition... he fell on the first stage... just saying.

  • Dwight Howard Bench Press Max: 365lbs.

  • You're clearly misunderstanding my point. It's not a strength based contest. The physical aspects are agility, speed, and stamina. It doesn't matter how much you can bench press so long as you are able to lift your own weight.

At 265 lbs. Dwight would be waaaay too heavy for the 3rd stage. It's the same problem Terek had and Terek is smaller than him.

Like I said before, world class competitors in these sports try all the time and fail.

  • What your not seeing is that NFL and NBA athletes, like Adrian Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Lebron James are the best all around athletes in sports. Whatever somebody else can do they can do better. Sure the Ninja Warrior course is best suited for free runners and such, but these players have to do harder stuff on a regular basis.

  • No... They really don't. And it's been shown that the most all around physically fit sports players in the world are actually soccer players. Swimmers, if you count that as a sport in the same league.

They are the most talented athletes in their own sports. But I tell you now they have no significant physical advantage over the other competitors and I guarantee you that any Olympic athlete (regardless of the event) trains harder than they do.

  • If you really believe that then ok for you. Why do you think no other countries excluding Canada, have a football league? It is the hardest sport in the world, your forced to use every single muscle in your body. As, in the olympics you only have to train certain muscle groups if your a runner your legs, a power lifter you have to train both legs and arms, but you aren't ever going to see them run any signifigant distance. And FYI you should really check out some of the NFL players workout's.

  • That, sir, is a blatant lie. Have you ever seen the training that gymnasts have to go through? It puts football player training regimens to shame.

Swimming has actually been shown to be the most physically demanding activity, using the more muscle groups more extensively than any other sport.

Football is unpopular around the world entirely because most people around the world find it boring. Soccer players are also widely considered better conditioned than any other players from team sports.

  • The Super bowl is the second most viewed sporting event behind the olympics.

and just google larry fitzgerald workout and tell me that it isn't over olympic standard

  • Football players(what u call soccer) is one of the most physically and mentally demanding sports in the world. American football players stop to take breaks the entire game, I've seen football games were players run back and forth on the field for 25 minutes at a time full speed. By the way the only ones that use smaller fields to play soccer are Americans everywhere else in the world the biggest regulation size is used.

  • i've watchged several soccer games, and a lot of it is just kicking a ball back and forth, and you only have to sprint for a little bit. amd the defense hardly runs at all and i bet you need to be in real good shape to be goalie haha. and after a football game your feelingit in more places than just your legs, in football you actually use all of your musclesand you recieve wayyyyy bigger hits

  • Yeah, that must be why the superbowl gets roughly 90 to 100 Million viewers world-wide, while the soccer world cup generally gets a measly 2 Billion.

  • really the US dominates baseball and basketball?

check your references on that one.

  • Ok. According to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the US has won 13 out of 16 possible gold medals in basketball since 1936. Of the other 3 times it didn't get gold it got silver once and bronze twice.

  • Also, you got your facts wrong. Actually look it up... a simple google search should do. Th most viewed sporting event in the world is the world cup. In 2002, the world cup actually got more world-wide viewers than the olympic closing ceremony

This is probably due to the fact that soccer is the undisputed most widely played and popular sport in the world. The US in this case is an outlier, not the norm.

  • Americans reinvented soccer, the only reason more country's don't play it is because they are too poor, or simply don't have the athletes.

  • What? Did you mean Americans reinvented football? Because you realize football has its beginnings from Rugby, not soccer, right?

Also, other countries have plenty of athletes... they just plain don't like the sport. Most people think it's a toned down, overpaid version of rugby.

Regardless. They could have football leagues instead of soccer leagues. They could have a world superbowl instead of a world cup. They don't. Soccer is just plain more popular. More people play it. More people watch it

  • No, they couldn't have a world superbowl, they've discussed having football in the olympics, but they said americans would be too dominate. What are you talking about other countries don't like the sport?

I have a foreign exchange student from Germany at my school and he says that like everybody in Europe watches the NFL.

Why do you think they played a NFL game in Europe last year?

  • Really? Wow, your friend must be real connected to know ALL of Europe.

Look, the numbers don't lie. 100 million (average) worldwide viewers of the Superbowls vs 2 Billion (about 20 times as many) watchers of the world cup. And viewing has absolutely nothing to do with whether a county has enough money to play.

And they included basketball and baseball into the olympics even though the US dominates those, too... because other countries actually like those sports. Imagine that.

  • Try to play rugby sometime mate and get back to me on what you're saying.

  • how long are they allowed to rest in between each obstacle?

  • he wasn't racing anyone....all he had to do was finish the whole thing.....all the other guys fell during the second one

  • its cool how the all-stars always chill together and share tips during the sasuke events.

  • If he completed the Cliff hanger, we could have potentially reached the final stage.

He could have past the jumping bars very easily, because there's a move in free running called the Lache, which is harder than the jumping bars

  • He had the grip and strength, but not the distance.

  • I cant believe he and nagano both lost in stage one at Sasuke this year. I had high hopes. At least Olivia looked good and wet. LOL

  • He got sooo far for his first time

  • hahaha Lactic Acid Factory...

  • lol. Cause of the anaerobic respiration and shizzle

  • hes even better at parkour & free running

  • i would like to know how u sign up for this

  • you would have to win the american ninja contest voted on by anyone, it will be really hard to get a spot

  • ^.^ yeah but not impossible, if levi can do it im sure i can do it too, well not at my current state but from what ive seen, stages 1 and 2 i can probably do right now, but stage 3 will be a challenge.....eh but i can keep trying :P

  • he´s realy good!

  • AHHH HE ALMOST MADE IT!! What a pity!

  • Before Chris Sharma can go the stage 3, he be eliminated. got that kid? nweiz i wish 1 american can finally win Sasuke in 2009!

  • makoto is very supportive

  • makoto is such a class act...even though he lost in the 2nd stage, he stays to support a newcomer...

ntm the time he disqualified himself cuz he realized he made a violation

    HES DA BEST

  • hes great. i heard he design the spider the cliff hanger

  • if he swung like 2-4 more times he would have gotten by the cliff hanger

  • You don't know that.

  • well, he almost got it with one swing, and a few more times, he shoulda got more distance

  • Thanks for uploading that, I like that show. Unfortunately it was never on TV in my country.

But I think a good climber like Chris Sharma can only laugh about these obstacles.

  • jeez the strength to do some of that stuff

    incredible

    he is a force

  • Spider Flip symbol is kind of funny.

  • I love how the other competitors not only cheer him on, but give him technical advice midway through. These are real sportsmen.

Interesting that this stage was not timed: I assume that since the obstacles were new they needed to assess what a reasonable time limit would be for them.

  • actually there is never time limit in this round

  • oh thanks, didn't know that. I don't have cable, so I've only seen bits and pieces of Ninja Warriors on YouTube. I wish they sold a DVD of it.

  • yeah but i think there will be no time limit its hard enough to get trough.. so no time limit needed...if u can do this.thats enough,i think...!

and i thought same way about the technical advices, thats truely sportsman like

  • thats a man!!!!

  • Sasuke 22

    - 1st stage Pole Maze replaced by Circle Slider

    - 1st stage Jumping Spider is now the 7-17 competitons Spider Walk

    - 2nd stage Metal Spin replaced by Chain Climb

    - 3rd stage Arm Rings replaced by Arm Bike

    - 3rd stage Globe Grabs replaced by Spider Legs

    - New obstacle in 3rd stage: Arm Bars

    - 3rd stage Gliding Ring replaced by Final Jump

  • How did u come to this assumption for Sasuke 22?

  • No! I just want that Sasuke 22 is like that.

  • dam that guy looks like a wimp but he's packing strength, good job Levi, gain like 10 more lbs on muscle and he's all set

  • he's already 160ish how much heavier do u want him

  • Awesome, what other competition can you stop halfway through and get technical help from your competitors? Such a great show. Nagano (and now Levi) all the way. I'd been wondering when a western free runner or sick gymnast would do it. Up till this all the white guys that had tried had been 6'2" wrestlers etc that are WAY too heavy for this stuff.

Go levi! But until he wins it all, he'll never be the legend that is Nagano!

  • there was that one euro guy that got to the final stage.

  • 1:05 is great. It just shows the camaraderie that exists between them all. Nagano is the man! I don't know if Levi has entered this year, but I bet he'd have good odds on winning the entire thing.

  • Levi lost it at the Salmon Lift this year...

  • hell yeahhh michigan born baby

  • he didnt do to well in the 21

  • he did awesome thanks 4 posting!

    1:05 SUPER LOL

  • i bet hes gonna win this year

  • I loled hard at 1:05

it's so great that they help each other

    they are comrades

  • no one got to this stage apart from him?? well done that man the samon bit looked like a bitch

  • what a bummer :(
