So yeah I decided to get one. 1948 m44 its in great shape. It fires like a dream. The balance is amazinh. Aiming it is easy, its like it wants to go where you want it to. Got it for a hundred bucks. I'm thinking of getting a few of them and put them away and only use one for shooting. I mean this rifle really is something special.

I got mine and still havent fired it yet its a refurbed 1939 Tula and I just cant bring myself to fire something that hasnt been fired since it was refurbed back in 1970s. But the history man, mine could have seen the invasion of Poland, the Winter War, the Continuation War, the Siege of Lenningrad, or the Siege of Stalingrad, to name a few.

7.62 X 54R is an OLD cartridge that performs nearly as well as American .30-06. It is comparable to the NATO 7.62 (.308). I love my Mosins!
