I remember this! I'm a Yank who often watched Dave Allen At Large on some rural Georgia TV station late at night during the summers of the early 1980s. GREAT stuff!
Always enjoyed Dave's sketches. Especially his home truth's about the Gestapo in skirts - ie the nuns! The 1975 Lotus Eclat receiving a heck of a crash into the road at 0.47secs made me cringe though!
Love dave allen but cant find anything on torrents other then a compilation of some sketches and some stand up or should i say sit down clips. Whats that car anyway?
David Tynan O'Mahoney, AKA Dave Allen was 68 years old when he coiled off this mortal shuffle. According to the Wikipedia, he "...died suddenly, but peacefully in his sleep..."
As long as we remember his humor and the laughter he gave us, he is still with us. Many of us Yanks never saw his shows, but I often forward a youtube video to friends when it seems appropriate, or inappropriate, depending on my mood.
@winston5610 Actually when I was growing up in Chicago, I was able to see his show on WTTW, channel 11 on sundays, and he was outrageously funny with some of his sketches.
lololol!!! love this guy.

Thanks so much for this, I used to love watching DA as a kid, so sad he seemed just seemed to fade away from our screens.
Incidentally can you put a date on this recording for me?

Its a Lotus Eclat i think.Dave Allen was one of the funniest "observers of life" ever known. Brilliant
Stevienuts 3 years ago 2
It's a Lotus Elite. The Eclat was essentially the same car but had a coupe, fastback bodyshell.
