Unbelievable. The modulation, the quiver in her voice says so much. I can just listen to it over & over again & I always feel the same pain & sadness she descibes in the song. What a voice,
my mom died on the same day that patsy died i can remember hareing her playing patsys songs after my father left her for many years in miss them both very much . i would give anything to have here back in my life alwayls kim
A voice that the world should hear more of I have her Greatest Hits and it is greater because it is on a "CD' all the songs can be a hit today but who can take Patsy Cline voice no/one a Pearl now in the Angels choir..
@Willtap Ms. Lee actually curtailed her career intentionally, having started working at such a young age. She wanted a normal life, with a husband and children and grandchildren, and she got them all. But, she has continued to make limited appearences (including the Grand Ole Opry) throughout. But, it was a purposeful decision, not a career decline.
I fall to pieces whenever I hear her sing. I agree about the ads that have crept in. They are a MENACE and no person looking for a song wants them. If I could block them from my machine I would. They are a toal pain in the butt SO REMOVE THEM YOU TUBE AS THEY SPOIL OUR ENJOYMENT.
My God, what a beautiful voice and a great song ! When I was growing up, there wasn't a jukebox made that didn't play this song until the vinyl was worn out ! Such a tragedy she had to die so young. Seems like a lot of the greats died in plane crashes. Otis Redding, Ricky Nelson, John Denver, Jim Croche, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, The Big Bopper, Randy Rhoades, Lynyrd Skynyrd Lead Singer. @simonbaker4 Sorry, about the ads, but YouTube has started placing them in front of many of my videos. YouTube gets the revenue...they ought to at least pay me a commission, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
@Nocaro I was wondering because YouTube sent out invitations for us to join some revenue-sharing ads program with our videos, so long as we comply with heavy requirements of originality on the content, I think even requiring formal copyright registration by us. However, I guess they can slap ads wherever they want on anyone's content?
@simonbaker4 This is a development that I'd like to know more about especially who is or is not benefiting from these ads financially other than YouTube.
@Nocaro To be fair You Tube is a magnificent web resource which they dont charge us to use so its only fair they recoup some of their costs. It's a small price to pay I think.
I am ten years old,and Patsy Cline is the best role model and singer that the world ever had.I never knew about her until I watched the movie Sweet Dreams.
Sweet Dreams is my favorite song of Patsy's, and my second favorite would be a tie between I Fall to Pieces and Crazy. For her faster songs Walkin' After Midnight and Back in Baby's Arms.
Patsy is my best female singer.Iam very like listening her nice song very often. I fall to pieces is best song, which ever sang.Follow " Crazy,Walking after Midnight Three sigrets in the ashtray... etc.It is a pity that tragics died so young.
Brenda Lee was offered this song first .... Brenda would of been the one getting ALL THE ADORATION for the singing of this song (that's the way it works). Just like WE can not imagine anyone else playing ... "Raiders of the lost ark" .. except for Harrison Ford.
Patsy Cline not only died too young, she took with her one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard in my life. And I sure wish I could find a live version of her performing this one. I've seen her on a couple of the old shows performing the big songs, but it's been a while. Thanks for this.
@1964nickel I have several live performances of Patsy, and as much a fan as I am of her, they are rather disappointing. Not so much her voice, but the orchestration behind her which was almost non-existent. Most of Patsy's recordings were beautifully produced by Owen Bradley almost to the point of being lush, and performances that would be next to impossible to reproduce live.
@Nocaro The only one's I've ever seen myself were those actually shown in much later years. I was born after she died, but my mother adored her, so grew up with that voice. You're right about the orchestration, though in a lot of them. But then, I usually just shut that out and listen to her voice. It's a talent I have. lol
@Nocaro Please please upload them even if they don't match the quality of the studio recordings. Everybody understands why that is...we still want to see her singing!! :) Nocaro thank you so much for all you are doing to preserve the legacy of these great artists: Much appreciated!
@1964nickel...if you look to the right of the page, you'll see a list of other songs and a couple of her singing live. It was the late 50's early 60's when they were done.
@lees2cents Yes. I like that (your comment). I'm a 55 y.o. black man who listens to jazz, blues, show tunes, metal, aalt, emo,....and I love the shit outta Patsy and this song.
Another great one from a great artist. Probably, if forced, to pick my favorite Patsy Cline song I would choose "I Fall To Pieces." It is soulful and I like songs that touch our hearts and, perhaps, bring a tear to our eye. Thank you for this lovely, love song by the Late Great Miss Patsy Cline.
Pasty did not have an easy life. Her early death (air plane crash) was an absolute
tragedy. She single handley brought respect (and better pay) for the female Country western singers. The Instant success of the few songs she left us proves her talent.
Growing up I hated Patsy Cline. My mother would play her for hours on end. Now that I am 30 and my mother has passed I can't think of a more beautiful voice and talent than Patsy Cline. Its amazing what happens when you grow up.

Belongs to a time before "the end of the innocence" (JFK assasination, Viet Nam war, the great social disruption) after which everything including music became corrupted. The beauty was gone, and so was Patsy. A voice that lovely belongs in Heaven
Think of the impact Patsy had, and how much more it would have been had she not died so young. Her voice is so wonderful to listen to. I'm glad it's been preserved so we can still listen and enjoy.

This song has the most incredible haunting melody. The bassline is seems more like jazz than country. That deep woody upright bass tone. God they don`t make music like that anymore.

i used to listen to her when i was little with my mom and dance in our living room with my dad to her music. my mom told me that when i was little i said when i grew up and had a job and money i would take them to see her a t a concert not knowing she had already died by than. they didnt tell me that til i was much older.
Wow. Country Dynamite! I think I'd heard OF this song and ABOUT this song all my life but never heard it all the way through until now. I think all of us can remember at least one relationship in our lives that ended like the one in this song. Just brilliant.
Same here - my mother ( who died at only agre 49 ) played Patsy Cline records every single day that I can recall . She sang along or whistled some of the tunes - it sounds funny , but she was an incredible whistler - just like a bird . I have very fond memories of these Patsy classics because I heard them SO much and memorized every word as a teenager .
Thanks, it's always interesting to hear the historic background of music we hear. Especially now that I've become my parents & now love the music I couldn't stand as a kid. Wow. We really don't fall far from the tree, do we? Thanks again.
She has such an expressive voice. I love her music. The cosmos cheated us by letting her slip away. Such beauty coming from such a tragic life. Thank you for sharing this.
i adore this track thank you Naomi, i have been away its so good to be back...and this has made my day a classic from our patsy have a wonderful sunday my dear friend, ann☼☼☼☼

Wow. Country Dynamite! I think I'd heard OF this song and ABOUT this song all my life but never heard it all the way through until now. I think all of us can remember at least one relationship in our lives that ended like the one in this song. Just brilliant.

This was her most memorable of all love hurting records and a tribute to how love strikes deep,.

Thanks for posting this; I can't imagine very much had to be done to re-master any of her wonderful recordings...
