  • @youdanxxx thanks! I'll try that. You should make some in depth videos on how you make your colored slip

  • @yaboiimikekelly Done a slip making video recently,It should be on my channel page in the recent videos.

    Cheers,Dan.

  • @youdanxxx whenever I throw a large bowl like that with a small base it always ends up flopping over. Any suggestions?

  • @yaboiimikekelly You might be going a bit too thin near the base, try making it a bit thicker because you can always trim any excess off later.

    Cheers,Dan

  • @yaboiimikekelly try centering the base wider, ive been throwing 3/4 bags bowls and centering wider is always helpfull and does not flop.

    Respectfully tyler shull

  • that is awesome dude

  • truth is, it's the motion that attracts with that finger. it's beautiful and vibrant.

  • this really cool.........i love the effect you did with your fingers really nice job

  • I love the design you made with your fingers in the cobalt slip!

  • what clay is that?

  • That clay looks like it's very, very easy to work with. What kind is it?

  • Terrific demonstration, except that like so many such videos we CANNOT SEE THE RIGHT HAND. As a result, we are no wiser about how the final delicate pulls are made.

  • That's a lot of salad.

  • I've been wondering for a while now, but what kind of clay is that? I haven't seen that color before

  • @Justforkicks3329 It's called Buff stoneware. Dan makes it himself from local clays mixed with other materials. There are however many commercially available clays that look the same but vary in strength and workability.

  • How do you trim the bottom to make a foot when the lip of the bowl is bigger than the diameter of the wheel itself?

  • yu can put a plate on the wheel and put the bowl on there? but be careful make sure the plate sticks to the wheel try getting the wheel and plates dry and using clay to keepem together. maybe a slab to keepem together :)

  • this is the best angle you have shot from. you get to see everythign you're doing.

  • I have been watching your videos and wondering about the bats you are using, too! Great work! I haven't done much with slips yet, but watching your videos is encouraging me to try.

  • Super throwing skills? Where did you get the type of bats that you use? I enjoy watching you work!

  • Hey don great vids man!

i saw the one when you show your centering techniques, great also but what i especially loved was your accent ;)

you should talk in all your vids!!

  • Wow, you make throwing pots look so easy... and its not!

  • some good tune goin on there!

  • I'm amazed how you did that knotwork.

    Incredible!

  • that is gorgeous.

  • What was that? The stuff that you were putting inside the salad bowl near the end?

  • It's a slip with Cobalt in it so It will be Blue in colour through the glaze.

  • Beautiful, thanks for sharing!
