  • While not a student of Sensei Dunn, I was at his club the night he passed. Very sad day and a loss to SA. I am currently training Hakkoryu and Shooto in Japan and look forward to catching up with Bruce, Anthony, Leo etc upon my return.

  • Old student of Francis Sensei here. Excellent video, and I can't believe I found it.

  • Hi from a student of Graham Dunn Sensei in Adelaide

  • This is beautiful. Is James teaching in Margaret River? What's his school called?

  • I dont wanna be unpolite. But i absolutely dont believe that this is Tsutsumi Hozan ryu.

Because in Japan its absolutely lost and not at least one technique no longer exists. And Tsutsumi hozan ryu should be one of the oldest. So and for battlefield.Techniques would be different.Simple and it would be build to cause injury. And would work even in heavy armor. This is obviously affected by modern budo.Absolutely

  • Don't feel that you;re being impolite. In fact, you may be able to help our lineage fill in some blanks. We trace back to Tsutsumi Masao who was the teacher of the brothers Saito. These brothers moved to Indonesia and taught Jan de Jong who brought the style to Australia. It is believed that the first school in Germany was Tsutsumi hozan Ryu and that the techniques by Higashi in Irving Hancocks book on Judo were Tsutsumi. Any more information would be respected and appreciated. see wikipedia

  • Absolutely, Masao taught the Saito bros, who inturn spent many years teaching Jan!

I too am a student of the late sensei Dunn!

Sadly it appears that the lineage in Adelaide has now come to an end as the Dojo has since closed!

  • The Dojo in Adelaide has not closed but has moved locations.

  • Ok and you would be.....?

  • A Student of said school...

  • mm thats helpful....well its not a ninja school so why so secretive?

  • Very impressive. I really enjoyed this. Thanks for posting.
