The brother refused and got into a quarrel with him, got beat up, and went home later that night in a drunken stupor to find his wife murdered by the bookie. It's explained in White Knuckles.

If anyone hasn't caught on yet, this is the end to Defeater's two album story. Travels is about the brother who kills the father. The second one is about the brother seeking revenge on him. Cowardice is the end to the first album, where the (younger?) brother goes to repent for killing his father, (he thinks) killing his older brother, and leaving his mother. In White Oak Doors, the (older?) brother finds him, brings him to the train tracks, and one of them dies. I'm not sure which one, im dumb.

@GodBlessYouthfulness they arent in order but travels is the youngest brothers point of view and endless days sleepless nights is from the oldest brothers view. white oak doors is where the youngest brother takes the oldest to the train tracks and he gets hit by the train, which is why the song cuts out. the oldest one dies. cowardice is where the youngest brother ends the story by killing himself. so in the end everybody dies..pretty depressing story lol
