You can still play this game on windows xp if you still have the discs. To make it run, open your red alert directory folder make all files compatabilty to windows 95 or whatever edition you own. It should work the same way with vista and windows 7 but I haven't tried them yet.

I'm sure I use to disadvantage myself in this game for being concerned for my electronic men's lives. Always tried to evacuate badly wounded vehicle/men during combat so they can return to base and repair, and of course that wasn't easy, since the AI chased them...always made a mess of combat and cause more casualties.

dont worry you can already download RA1 for free on internet, i use my First Decade version, but the damm DVD is gone now, can only play the C&Cs that dont need it insert the DVD. But what let me REALY ANGRY it the fact that i will gonna have buy it againg!

soviets were best on land so basicly if it was a land map, the soviet had a big advantage. and tesla coils were hellish deadly, killed any armor unit in 2 shots. and they fire 3 shots before recharge.

1. Right click on the shortcut

2. Properties

3. go to the 'Compatibility' tab

4. Check 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'

5. Choose either 'windows 95' or 'windows 98'

That should do it. Cause I remember playing it on XP more than once, with no special program!

Give it a try, now! (that means after reading this :P) This is a game that should not go to waste because of the bugs of XP! :D
