  • Ok hey, pretty helpful video!

  • DIP IT IN A WARN SOAPY WATER BUCKET OR BIG BOWL

  • Excellent Video and very informative.

  • Great vid but if u had a ultrasonic machine it would make cleaning so much easier

  • if you use windex, be sure to get the one without ammonia... or it will ruin your airbrushes

  • Nicely done, very good info! Thanks!

  • question can ya use the glasscleaner to thin your paints?? hope to get a reply soon! tnkx for sharing take care

  • you say window cleaner what exactly does that mean, windolene?

  • which is the first thing that breaks to an airbrush

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! LOTS OF HELP ON COLORS AND CLEANUP. KEEP UP THE VIDS I LOVE THEM. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY VIDEO AT SCOTTYSDETAILING IN YOU TUBE AND SEARCH AIRBRUSH TRAINING BY LARRY MATHIS. YOU INSPIRED ME TO START AIRBRUSH ART, AND NOW I HAVE SOMETHING TO SHARE TO THE YOU TUBE WORLD SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND KEEP ON MAKING VIDEOS JUST FOR PEPS LIKE US THAT WANT SOME THING BETTER. ALSO DO YOU SELL HOW TO VIDEOS?????

  • Great instructional video! I have learnt a lot from this. Thanks so much for putting this up :)

  • that bottle your spraying it in at beginning - i presume its for leftover paint becuase your psraying window cleaner in it - right?

  • Folk's, if you want to keep your airbrush looking and performing like it should then, you should use common sense when taking advice from someone that claims to be a pro. NEVER use pliers to loosen ANY part of your airbrush. And DO NOT use a scouring pad to clean it. Especially inside the paint cup because it will leave scratches that will later trap paint causing further cleaning to be difficult to impossible! Be sure to lightly lubricate the needle and air valve with Super Lube occasionally.

  • Airbrushing is cool cool. I have the Aztek (sucks)..some air. And an Olympos sp-b.

  • where can you buy a airbrushing tool from?

  • It seems to me you are using an Iwata airbrush in the video. I've heard that there is an extended trigger available for the Iwata. Does anyone know where I can find it?

  • whats with the 'hey' cut it out you goon!!!

  • @treybond33 i lol'd a lot.

  • great vids, I have learnt alot from them. firstly in this vid are you using auto air paint. I have looked on the internet to find out what I can use to clean the airbrush for color changes when using auto air paint but I can never find a straight anwser. do I need a specific cleaner, some people say glass cleaner, thinners, can anyone please help me out. thanks for you time

  • Im using an airbrush of revell with a jar adapter. it sucks. you constantly need to hold your paintjar on the underside or else it will fall of. I payed 97.50 euro for that inferior thing, everthing gets dirty. It is difficult to clean. and now i dont have enough money to get a better one like in the movie or to buy a compressor, it all sucks. I worked with it 3 times and i still dont get it

  • Sometimes the basics are the hardest thing to find info on, because people who are already skilled assume the basics are obvious to all beginners. Thanks for keeping that in mind and showing us some important fundamentals!

  • Thanks for taking the time to share with us noobs.

  • thanks for all the tips, just getting started... getting the iwaka hi-line hp-cp - is this any good for beginner... abstract painting... perhaps try some of those fire, lighting effects, etc... thanks again - also, on average, full time painters utilize how many brushes at the same time?

  • i make fighing lures but also free hand but 5 years of airbrushing i still suck but getting better watching ur vids

  • you are awsome because you dont spent alot of money on equipment but unlike other guys spending bunch of money they dont need tp spend thx and show us to airbrush on a budget with pro results

  • your vids are awsome because you dont spent alot of money on equipment but unlike other guys spending bunch of money they dont need tp spend thx

  • If i use common acrylic and add water it good to airbrush with it pls?

  • o ya der duh der

  • would windex work like glass cleaner?

  • IT IS GLASS CLEANER

  • thanks great vid

  • I forgot how quickly acrylic paint can dry up in the airbrush. It may be a hassle but constant cleaning sure avoids larger problems.

  • how often should i clean my airbrush?

  • Good vid mate. Informative and helped me a bunch. Have been airbrushing scale models and so far not one problem with airbrush and following your cleaning tips. Keep up the good work.

  • my trigger sticks in the down position and is slow to come back up. is there a way to fix this

  • Probably the spring underneath it has lost its "spring" or needs cleaning. Might need a new one if its buggered.

  • Take the air assembly out (from where the airhose hooks up) and carefully remove and clean all the guts and check the spring.. Also clean the brush body while the parts are out. (Any pesky clogs might need to be broken up by soaking the parts/brush in thinner) Once clean, use a little (LITTLE) airbrush lube on the tip of your fingers and rub the parts and put them back together. Also make sure the trigger is clean and lubed and put it back in.. That should fix ya up!

  • how much does one of thoes airbrushes cost

  • 7000-8000 dollar for a beginner set

nah just kidding from 10 to 200 dollar for a airbrush gun

  • Tony...I have been watchin your vids...ace... who needs books when folk like you have kindly taken the time to make these tutorials...thanks.

  • good stuff mate. Helpful!

  • nice

  • Very helpfull..... Thanks

  • omg everytime he starts a new title he says ok hey

  • Hey, hey hey hey hey, hey hey hey.

  • dont use glass cleaner. it ruins the airbrush.

  • Is it the Vineger in it that attcts the seals?

    not sure about that ....

  • the ammonia

  • Thanks for this vid. I am a total newb and was nervous about cleaning, and disassembly. You guys explain it very well. On one of your other vids you said "make the paint the consistancy of skim milk", that one tip helped me more than any other to date. You guys are my airbrush sensei's. Keep 'em coming. Thank you.

  • no way. i heard this song before.

  • dont use windex.. if your brush is chrome it will eat away at the chrome.. bad for lungs to

  • how often should u clean your airbrush?

is it wise to do it after every use? or can you get off with running some water through the gun (using water based paints) and getting a clean that way?

  • I'm not an air brush painter (but as a hot rod builder i do use spray guns). But i assume it would be best if you do it after every use. You DO NOT want paint to dry in there. Then it's a real pain to get out. I may be wrong though.

  • You must clean it after eache use. If you use water base paint(acrylics gouache...) use rubbing alchol or a mix (50/50) of window clean and water. If its sovent base paint use turpentine or lacquer thinner. Rinse with water . You don't have to dissemble all the airbrush each time i do that once each month and i don't have problems.

  • how often should u clean your airbrush?

is it wise to do it after every use? or can you get off with running some water through the gun (using water based paints) and getting a clean that way?

  • hey this was helpful hey but hey... one or two heys

really is enough, hey ? ;?

  • I can offer you a good tip for assembly. Feed the needle in from the front of the airbrush before you put the nozzle in. That way you won't snag the delicate tip of the needle on the trigger. Pull the needle right back before you clamp it with the chuck. Then put your nozzle and cap on. Push the needle into the nozzle and tighten the chuck. I was doing it the same way as you until an expert told me otherwise.

  • Quick tip. Put a little bit of solvent in the cup after you dump the paint for changing. Then use paper towels like this talented dude says. This will dissolve and liquefy some of the paint and the paper towel will soak it up like a sponge when you rub the inside ;)

  • stop saying hey

  • dont make fun of canadians...

  • canadians say eh not hey.

  • thanx! very useful!

  • That cleaning act ONLY works when using acrylics or OTHER WATERBASED paints!!! -It should be mentioned!

  • Do you need an air compresser to airbrush, beacuase it didnt see any tube or cord when he was spraying

  • would i be able to use windex?

  • that was very helpful, thank you !

  • great video for us noobs, helped me out tremendously. Do pay attention to what he says about the needle being delicate. I bent mine after cleaning it and still have as yet to get it straitened out... Once again, great vid

  • you are the man. im shopping for a machine right now for cake decorating, which one do you recommend?

    P.S: Love the voice:)

  • how often do you have to clean it like that?

  • Great tutorial. The only thing is, you said "hey" a couple times to much. And how often should you take it completely apart to clean it?

  • How often do you take your airbrush completely apart and clean it, after every completed job? Or do you just clean it as you did when you changed the colour (just flushing glass-cleaner through)? I would be thankful for answer.

  • I take mine apart and clean it every time I spray paint.

  • all together at least like 150-200 bucks

  • how much is a airbrush

  • great video man thanks really good edition :)

  • dude you are so military. Not that that's bad just saying.

  • great video man... thanks a lot!

  • Crap, whats wrong with youtube comments malfunctioning?

Anyhow, Great videos Tony, one quick note though... I read from a propane company that ammonia weakens/eats brass. Check that glass cleaner bro, make sure it doesn't have any ammonia in it.

  • wot model is this airbrush plz answer me quick i need 2 know?

  • can i buy this paint in the uk and what is glass cleaner are we talking about washing up liquid?

  • I do all that stuff the same exact way only I use orange clean spray because it doesn't rust and when i'm done everything smells orange fresh.

  • Glass... what?

  • Hmmnn.. I just saw another clip. He must have said 'glass cleaner'

  • hey dude i am just get the airbrush gun so i going to do mu first picture its going to be something simple

so i am asking mu self can i use a acrilic paint to do some airbrush

    any help is welcome

    thanks

  • Nope. Airbrushes dont come with air compressors generally. You can buy kits for like 250 dollars that include 24 bottles of paint a compressor a master g44 airbrush and all the other accessories you need.

  • If you want to spend less than 60 bucks i'd go with a master airbrush some thing like the sb82 or g22 or g23.

  • question: what type off glass cleaner is being use and/or is any glass cleaner good enough to use?

  • Great vid. thx!We need you.

  • nicely done, i recieved an airbrush for christmas, and i had no idea how to clean it, i'll be fine now, i hope...

Anyway, thanks for this vid, it helps.

  • Hey me too!

  • I recently signed up to Youtube been watching the "entertainment". Today I saw someone doing a how to, I thought "I wonder?"...

    Yup, there you were. Yayyyyyyyyyy!!!

    Happy dance:) There is always someone who is just learning! 100 stars:}

    Thanks again,

    Toodle-oo!

    BOP

  • Man, you're a lifesaver!!! Definately helped! I recieved an airbrush and compressor for my birthday months ago. But there was no way I was even going to touch it till I knew how to clean it. There is a right way to clean my brushes and I knew there had to be a right way to clean the airbrush.....

  • kiramiyabi hi in this vid he is using createx colors, you can check some of his other vidds and he will tell you what he is using

  • thanks for all the help!

  • what type of paint is commonly used, and what type of paint is he using?

  • he was using createx which is the cheapest and best type of airbrush paint for begginers

  • fgf comment--->accident, computers trashed...

I usualy pull the thigger back a little before I secure the needle, but just a little.

This helps when youre doing delicate projects, beause you get less paint and have a saller chanse o essing up... =P

  • fgf

  • whats the name of the song in the background disassembly 1:48

  • To me it sounds like a remix of a Robert Miles song, Children, off of the album Dreamland. Once you hear the original that is on that CD, you'll recognize it. I don't know who did the remix though...

  • i have that same airbrush

  • Hey... thanks - cool video!!! I use windex too.

  • wait, so i could use windex to clean my airbrush?

  • I do when shooting water based paints... still periodically need to break it down and "properly" clean things out.

  • Hey Tony D, I thought that I would watch this for the disassembly because I really have to fight with the Auxiliary Lever! but I noticed you don't have one? that part is so hard to get back in! I was hoping that you would show that part!

  • thx for the vid very helpful

lol u said "HEY" like a billion times lol

  • so, when changing colors it's OK to just spray the glass cleaner through, and then directly put in new paint? It seems like residual glass cleaner might affect the new color.

  • it doesn't affect the color, you just have to make sure you spray water through to clean it first so it doesn't corrode or anything.

  • what is the name paint using airbrush on t-shirt, metal, paper with permanent and when u do use on t-shirt dose not go fade or invisible after washing in machine. can u please tell me that. cause i already buyed a wrong paint kit and that cost me a lot thats why i am asking u. please help me out. cheers

  • great advice im doing research on this type of medium and the more i see the more i like , its great to see pros helping out beginners , THANKS

  • you are the cancer that's killing yt

  • killing who?

  • Do you reccomend a Siphon or Gravity Feed, For a beginner.

  • Awesome. Just what I needed to know with my first airbrush (Badger 200).

    thx

  • Thanks for the video i got my airbrush and thought it was easy but i was to confident and i had learned the hard way..Im cleaning my airbrush now and going to try harder to get good at it... thanks keep making videos

  • These videos have helped me loads cheers

  • whats the best airbrush i can get, or a good one?

  • Basically the airbrush is a tool like any other...it's practice that makes the airbrush work well or not. I believe that the guy in this video is working with an Iwata. I just purchased an Iwata CR. I love the Iwata for one simple reason. You can get from a pinpoint to a wide spread spray just by the way you pull back on the trigger and where you hold the airbrush at the moment..BTW...thanks airbrush tricks for the video.

  • wont windex affect acrylic paint? will it stick on plastic still, despite the windex mixing in???

  • I have found an old tooth brush(or the mother in laws) works great as long as it is old and soft and well worn.

  • What kind of airbus is that?

  • thanks a lot , i got a new airbrush and the directions r shit thank u

  • first I want to thank you for all those videos, I didn't know nothing about airbrushing, until now, second, I'm interesting how much time it takes until paint goes dry? let say the blue one on this video?

  • For the most part...the paint dries very quickly depending on the material/type of paint you use.Cotton material for example and some fiberboards can dry within seconds if lightly sprayed.Acrylics may dry faster then let's say enamels...practice on a separate piece of similar material before painting directly on what you will use as your final project. This way you will be better acquainted with your process.Keep a separate piece of paper for spraying/setup/cleaning nearby. Good luck.

  • Please can somebody make a video about how to pain chrome....(chrome effect)...can´t get it right... My paintings is getting real good and it´s all cuz of you...

  • HEY thats it !!!!!! lol

  • wait, did you say you could reduce auto air paint with windex?

  • "...and HEY...just like uh..HEY, lets clean our airbrush and HEY"

  • hey i was look for an airbrush that is good and won't break easy were did u get ur airbrush

  • very very helpfull..thanks for a top vid!!

  • i lost my nozzle one day and about a week later my sink clogged up. i took it apart and right there, smothered in slime was the nozzle. Thanks this helps allot.

  • hey..ok..alright..thnx and hey..have a good day

  • this guy says HEY alot!

  • Hey!Thx!

  • You did it wrong beginners will watch this so do it right....although yu are awesome!

Always take your nozzle of and from the back of the airbrush the "dull side" of the needle push the needle out that way....if you do it the way he does and your a beginners thing is your probably wont clean it properly and paint with be left in there. And if you drag some of it with the needles you might jam the trigger!

  • THNX BRO! im a new user of airbrush and you really help me alot.thnx again

  • i found a major flaw, you should always take the nozzle off then pull the needle through the front to avoid bringing paint remnants to the back of the brush.

  • hi I am beginner and I use nitro colors it is harder to clean but my dad bought me the best air brush pencil so it is not so hard to clean, it is a bit different then yours but mechanism is same and when I clean it I only fill bottle with nitro than i spray it out and pencil is cleaned, and then I take out the needle and I think you said nazle for the small part that controles colour injection and I clean that part with help of needle. I assembly pencil when I am starting to draw.

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! You have helped a lot of people with this demonstration.

  • ok.

    Hey.

lawl. ty so much ur vids rock :]

  • hey

    where can i get one

    im startin new

  • Excellent video! As a novice, videos like yours are so help so much. Thank you for sharing. There is no way to learn where I live that I've found, so I hope to see more of your videos.

  • Excellent man!

hey, I just have a few doubts about what kind of paint I can use on T-shirts, on mi bass guitar case, and how to make shure about my needle adjustment.

    Thanks!! great video, man!!

    Greetings from Mexico

    Jorge.

  • HEY lol

  • thank you!!!

  • question tho, so it doesn't need a wire to get the air in? so how does it work without a system or an air blower thingi?

and do u think getting one off ebay would be as good as from a regular place?

  • lol, nvm i just saw the wire..

  • great job ! best beginner video ! kepp it up !

  • what brush is that

  • Hi, great video. Listerning to the video, you say you use Auto air paints through your Iwata AB, do you use a lot of reducer as I'm having problems with detail unless I use at least 1:1 paint & reducer. Thanks.

  • Thanks a lot for posting these videos, they are great tutorials - Keep them coming!

  • Nice video, easy to understand and easy to hear what he says (usually it's just some mumbeling).

    Great, thanks

    Peter

  • hey dude, awesome video. Thanks for uploading. Hey dude, one question, really into modeling and want to start airbrushing. What airbrush do you recommend? I don't mind spending good money if it means getting a great airbrush off the bat, instead of getting a cheap one and then spending more later on an upgrade.

  • wich type of airbrush is better for shirts a bottom feed airbrush or a gravity feed?
