I don't know Maura but my family and I have a home in the area that she went missing. We've become very familiar with her tragic case and her pretty face. Each time we pass the tree where her blue ribbon is wrapped, we cannot help but feel a closeness to her. We all hope and pray that she is safe awaiting a rescue. @beckyzed, I think that her car made 2 impacts. First a tree, then the car swung into a snow bank. My theory is that the airbags deployed on the first impact, but may have lost a lot of their air by the second impact. The crack on the inside of the windshield could have been caused by her head on the second impact. The car went into a ditch (nose down), so the trajectory of her body could possibly fit the position of the crack.

If it was her head that cracked the window, couldn't she have had a serious head injury? If so, she could have been completely disoriented and may have done anything.
Either she got lost in the woods and died from hypothermia,or she deliberately commit suicide perhaps somewhere in the woods, or somebody picked her up (if she was in an impaired state, she might not have recognized danger), or she was taken in in a nearby house. All this is speculation. Not saying she did. The gal was a runner though, and she was alleged to have been seen running several miles away from the accident that night. It is possible that they missed many parts of the possible square mileage that she could have wound up. Maybe she ran for miles and miles....just speculation though.
