homeric9 it has nothing to do with Mr. Arison! When a ship departs port the pilot (from the port) is onboard navigating. The pilot is responsible for having ships depart in a timely fashion and navigates the ship through local waters. In addition, the storm, from what I read, came upon very quickly.

Carnival had had one collision a month for the past six months...all weather related according to Carnival..Riiiighhtt...sure it is.

Guess the beidge computers don't spit out weather reports.

What the hell was the Carnival Captain thinking? If the winds were as bad as they are..and from the shore they don't...why the rush? Because being on time at any cost is what Mr. Arison tells his Captains...one of these days someone is going to get killed with these decisions.
