@BrendanGreaves111 Brendan i thank you. I have loved this song forever. You inspired me to sit down and use my piano skills and learn this. i watched this video countless times watching every move of those fingers to learn. I have been able to work out the entire song save for a few transitions im doing myself. i have been able to arrange my own version thanks to you, Bonnie Tyler, and Jennifer Saunders lol. I'm actually thinking of making a vid of it. if i do your feedback would be honored.
People have to understand, its nearly impossible to make a tutorial on this piece, if extending the piece's repeats its at least 20 pages of music, it will probably be easier to learn how to read notes

this is a fantasic song, you play it so well, im a big fan of bonnie tylers music, is you could let me know where to find the music that would be fantasic
Hey man, I've been watching some of your videos now and well, your awesome on playing! If you ever get some time over, could you play this song again but with a bird view? And maybe on your new roland X8 too, it seems cool :). I really want to learn this song, and if you don't make a tutorial, then just playing this with a bird veiw (like you have on your tutorial videos) would be awesome! But well, This video got a pretty good angle too but... :>
hi, this is not the easiest to explain, lol, so bare with me.
A keyboard, you control the 'backing track' with your left hand, and you change the chording by using what's known as 'block chords' (three or more notes pressed at a time). A keyboard piece you'll basically hear a backing track along with the main melody. A piano, on the other hand, you play a melody with both hands, if you know what I mean? A keyboard, left hand melody is already written. You probs need to hear a piece [continues]
I know that, but my original comment was to someone that recommended a keyboard style play. You can play piano pieces on a keyboard, but not the other way round, which is what I was trying to say.
Why not the other way around? This piece is just as easy to play on keyboard as it is a regular piano. There's no difference at all. Except for the fact you might add electronic sounds in, I don't see any reason why you could not play a keyboard piece on an acoustic piano.
It depends entirely on how you play the keyboard. Yes, you can play piano pieces on a keyboard, you are able to use different sounds included. A dedicated keyboard piece is played with a backing rythm which is controlled using your left hand with block chords, a piano isn't. If you played a keyboard piece on a piano, all you would hear is one single block chord with your left hand, and a melody on the right. Again, it's hard to explain it, and the best way to tell them apart is to listen.
The point being, I play the keyboard, so I know there's a difference. A dedicated keyboard piece will be hard to make listenable on a piano, because it wasn't written to be done so. YouTube user 'Radex171' has a dedicated keyboard piece. User 'gumpman155' also has a couple.
I know what you mean, having played a few of these myself. However, I personally find these electronic pieces very boring. Not only as a player, but just watching people playing. Usually the ones I can't watch are these electronic ones. So I automatically assumed that these pieces are more amateur and more of an entry level to playing a keyboard. I only bought my keyboard so I can play without disturbing anyone, I definitely wouldn't pay £250 to play with my right hand only.
Nor would I pay any amount at all to listen or keep any track made this way.
If I really really really wanted to add a backing track to my piece I would still play 2 melodies with both hands and I would then play a 3rd melody which is relevant to the piece. Rather than use generic sounds.
hi, I respect your opinion in this case. Being a keyboard dedicated player, I will disagree that having 'generic' sounds takes away the 'relevance' so to say. That's part of the art of being a keyboard player. However I will say that I do intend to become a proper pianist as well, as both keyboards and piano's have their ups and downs.
All good except the rhythm of the main riff isn't right. The second note should be a bit longer and the third note a bit shorter. I dunno how to explain really but have another listen to the song
