he only mentioned 1 thing.... what are the healthy food choices? you cant survive on Ice and juice and water.. I was in Hospital and they had me eat otherwise my electroytes wouldnt inprove also if your backed up that can effect your pancreatitis as well... Im drinking Ensures ( they quell hunger). In hospital ( soups mashed potatoes chopped chicken, chopped fruit NO SALAD)
My mom's best friend had pancreatitis for about 15 years due to heavy alcohol use in her past. When she reached her 70s she got really, really skinny and she ate a lot but was thin as a rail before she passed on last year. her four sons just felt so helpless seeing her waste away.
@magiciangirl11 cut out the processed flour and sugars. Look into the Paleo Diet and put more emphasis on veggies and no more than 4oz. (25g protein) of leaner meat up to 5x a day.
@Truthiness231 I find it almost impossible to stand still during attacks, I am like a dog or animalistic in many ways. I'll kneel, squat, roll onto my back then front, then stand and continue the whole thing over and over!
The gravity thing makes sense I suppose though, Thx.
@modzilla732k i'm on the same page. Although I caused my own chronic pancreatitis by drinking heavily that makes it no less painful. Evven morphine doesnt hselp me either, except for being more cheerful about the pain, i still feel it to a lesser, but still almost intolerable extent. Mg's and Ml's are a bit different, but I don't really understand the translation fully. Also the way intravenous drugs asct on your body is different too.
@lobsternoob What I meant by the mg/ml is 1mg of morphine to 1 ml of fluid i.e. 5 ml =5 mg of morphine.
Thanks for the tips guys! Usually I go nil by mouth during attacks like they do in hospital, but just those 3 little different ice cubes will mean my body gets some nutrition!
Never, EVER, drink more than your stomach is going to allow either. The bile will make it's way up and attack. Really, if you're trying more than one swallow a minute you're pushing it too much.
Always keep gravity on your side. Bile can't go up if you don't give it the option. Stand most of the day during attacks if you can, avoid bending the abdomen as best you can, and if you sit be sure to keep perfect posture (or again, as best as you can).
I can help a bit (and I'm sure, if you're like the rest of us, you still have attacks):
Foods you can eat when you're having an attack: Ice (eat very slowly; it keeps things flowing the right way). Frozen, sugarless gelatin (the protein will help you rebuild from the attack and it just feels so good; also eat very slowly). Frozen Sprite cubes work well too; you can get some sugar back while still being mild enough to do little/no damage. As always, go VERY slowly.
@Truthiness231 I've just read your comment and I am amazed that not one medical proffesional has related this to me! Am so desperate I'd eat C4 with a crushed time pencil!
So frozen it is, water, gelatin and Sprite(?), O.k mate, I'll give it a bash!
I'll try my man marbles' herb tea too see if it helps
can't answer that one but fruit n veg do help massively man .. especially the right ones at the right time.. its all about getting the body backto optimum ye ... give it the tools an it will heal.
trust !
oh and try making cups of tea with fresh bud, helps the guts heal and takes the edges off the pain , allegedly

Modzilla - my doctor told me that morphine constricts the bilary tract, making pancreatitis worse.

@Watchdogger they give you Morphine in the hospital because the pain is so bad. but they take you off of it
