Free market principles from the start of our country didnt have minimum wage and allowed harsh work conditions for underage workers. There were alot of jobs but they all made crap wages while the richest were the only helped by the free market. If you do your research you'll discover that minimum wage laws were instituted as a way to keep "undesirables" out of the work force because they would undercut the wages of the "superior races". I'm all for helping people but government meddling won't help.

When Mc'Cain lost I was quite upset. However, I was able to find a bit of solace in the fact that I was proud my country took a step forward out of the racist mindset of decades past.
The thing I feared most prior to the 2008 election was Obama losing purely because of the color of his skin.

I understand what I am saying. It was a comment on the fact that social networking sites tend to attract a younger crowd.
That very same younger crowd in general tend to be democrats. For that reason I have been fairly surprised by the poll results on sites such as facebook.
I am a republican and still I am surprised at the majority of polls in our favor on these sites.
Our military is an exception however. While serving in the USMC most of those I knew were republican regardless of age.

If you do your research you'll discover that minimum wage laws were instituted as a way to keep "undesirables" out of the work force because they would undercut the wages of the "superior races". It's a progressive era eugenic concept and was never meant to help poor people. In fact it hurts uneducated people because companies cannot offer them a job at a wage that the market dictates if the government thinks that its too low. I'm all for helping people but government meddling won't help.

While job loss did inspire a lot of hatred towards incoming immegrants, minimum wage was one of FDRs many progressive era changes that attribute him as one of the best presidents of all time. In America people were starving because they were payed so little. The rich were increadibly rich and all workers were expendable. Because there were so poor people, noone could speak up about poor working conditions or unfair wages or theyd get fired. Gov meddling prevents workers from getting shafted.

The rich and companies don't pay taxes, all cost burdens are passed onto the Middle Class and Poor through price increases.
Increasing funds for education does not result in better education.
Contrary to most beliefs, medical costs are not a leading reason for bankruptcies.
Taking money from the rich through taxes to give to the poor is welfare. So saying they wouldn't be a burden on Welfare because they'll receive state aid that's not called welfare is a misnomer.

Bottom 50% (32,000 and lower) pay 2.89% of taxes
*This is not taxation on companies, however many small business use their small businesses to file their income tax, so taxing the "rich" individuals only hurts small businesses and helps big businesses.

Congratulations to Scott Brown on the big win though I loathe McLame. In terms of taxing the rich it is the same stupid idiocy rich lefties always push because they know they do not have to pay the taxes. Richies get taxed and they just move to avoid the tax, hide their cash to keep it from being taxed, raise prices so the tax gets passed to the poor, and / or pay a bribe to a Congressman to get a loop hole written in a bill for them excluding them from the tax. Lower tax rates = more revenue

hahaha except if u hadnt noticed, these men and women who have done so well with their lives are giving back to communities by supporting reform to help the poor instead of using their power to give themselves tax breaks. Politicians are given a spot of power. Some of them just care more about helping people than others.

Communism has a flaw that extends all the way to the roots of human nature. If everyone in society is given the same exact thing no matter how hard they work they get lazy. Why would they harvest 2 fields of grain when they get the same pay for doing 1? In american people go as far as their ambitions can take them (assuming they have the money to go somewhere). Democrats are here to help give those at the very bottom the means to climb in society. Many are rich but at least they care.

If the rich democrats care, why don't they give their millions to the poor? They could move to a normal middle class house and sell off the rest of their riches. The money could be used to help the poor. "Caring" I would say is an illusion. The ONLY people who care about an individual are their friends and family. The impression of caring is really a tool to manipulate voters. The "love the little guy" theme of politicians is a farce.

@ShawnMMckenzie. Big governments dont throw people into ovens. It happened in germany because Hitler had all the power and nobody to check his power and it probs wouldnt have gone over so well if all of germany wasnt antisemitic. Unlike Germany, in america we have checks and balances so that no one crazy person can blow up the world. Unless ovens become the will of the people, i think we're pretty safe.

The Checks and Balances were created to prevent one branch of the government from attaining too much power. If the Federal Government; Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches, are all acting as one, then the checks and balances don't do anything.

just got my absentee ballot today, and will be casting a vote for SCOTT BROWN from John McCain's home state of Arizona. Have been tirelessly campagning for Brown for the past few weeks, but its time to return to the desert.
Would def agree that Kennedy is a great candidate, and if he could take out coakley, then he would have my vote, but as Republicans and indipendents we should all be voting for Brown.

Joe Kennedy has no shot. You really should vote for Brown if you want to block health insurance. A vote for Kennedy, even if he is a good candidate, at this point is a wasted vote and a vote for this health insurance bill.
