I always felt that this episode (as moving as it was) somehow missed an opportunity to address what really happened. Dan Blocker's death had a profound impact on all of those who were connected to "Bonanza"
His absence on screen and the fact that he is only alluded to in passing was something that should have been dealt with more directly. With Blocker's death and a change in timeslot, this would ultimately spell the end for "Bonanza" as the series was well and truly on the way out.
