The lead sounds like she was physically ill. If she was, she did a fantastic job of working around it. Her upper register was lacking, but I felt the way she dropped out of the notes enhanced the theme of the song.

Most live performances have little things that we all wish we could go back and change. Most studio recordings involve auto-tuning and multiple takes to achieve a perfect sound, this group however did a fantastic job. And I actually thought the soloist conveyed an accurate emotion that helped convey the text of the composition.  A stage presence that coincided with a Disney Commercial would hardly portray the idea of not having a happy ending... again, just my opinion.... Good Job!

A friend of mine showed this particular video to me in hopes that I could arrange it for her middle school summer girls-glee club in an A cappella style. This a bit of a challenge due to having to work with the ranges of developing voices, especially since I'm still in college and tend to learn just as much from my mistakes as I do with my achievements.

That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the multiple times I listened to this and even tried to articulate some of the soloist's nuances...

I have to agree with some of you. I was disgustingly ill for this performance (burning a fever of 102 if you can believe it) and barely had the energy to sing this song. So YES - as a result, I was pitchy/flat in some parts, couldn't get some of the high notes, and definitely didn't have the power to do the original any justice.

But I improv'd it for the most part (to accommodate, haha) and had the best time - even if you can't see it!

It's ok. The singer isn't as great as the comments led me to believe. She has no upper range. Sure, she's cute, and does sing in tune, but those high notes make the song, and she doesn't have them. And she looks bored. I mean, this is MIKA people!! SING IT!!

Nice arrangement and great sound. But the song just doesn't pack as much punch without a strong falsetto male singing the lead. Personally, I think that's what makes the original so beautiful is Mika's vulnerable sound when he hits those notes.

I know X Factor is usually a load of complete crap but that said if you guys went on it , not only would you gain a lot of fans but you'd give the show back quite a bit of credibility back - if not then Britains got talent (if you're british)... Girls very naturally talented as are the rest of the group and it's a very articulate sound too. Although lead singer looks very humble in her voice which is amazing but a shame! :) :(
