Too weird I don't like it! The children standing in a circle looking like they are in chains (slavery) and the circle of the heads, looking like the children are dead!
Really cool. I love the murky blur of it all. I think he should've been asked to be one of 2012 Olympic Games poster artists, since they selected so many diverse artists to create their idea of the Olympics this year. The children in the circle would be an awesome way to symbolize the 2012 Olympics in Britain. Sculpture or photographed for the artwork..right..?! Maybe we could start a write-in campaign. (ha) Either way..this is beautiful. Mini-versions would be marvy for aquariums, too.
Oh man... I feel sorry for Archaeology undergrads, lol. It's gonna be like snipe hunting for boy scouts, haha.
Still, this stuff is pretty incredible. If it was above ground people would be like "meh," but the water gives it so much life. It's incredible how the ocean causes things to change and look different over time. Very cool stuff :)
Or they were remains of an underwater civilization lost to the world and preserved due to the natural coral forming a sort of mumifcation of these human sub-species who spent their final moments in a ritualistic "suicide" to their "gods" from the heavens to earth. (aliens)
it is not an under water sculpture......it is the old structures million yrs....when the intire land is still vissible.........its like city of atlantis..........science must discover and studies much further ...............that the earth before has a huge visible land percentage than the map we had today....................i already studied this and much more........like what is the begining and end..........
Yay! I've been fascinated by your work since I stumbled across it in one of my art forums a couple of years ago. It's crossed my mind a couple of times to send you an email full of drooling praise, but I can't seem to articulate the sway your work holds for me... I think it speaks to my childhood dream of becoming an archaeologist, my early adulthood spent as a philosophy major, and my current status as artist (albeit a hack). What a complex and delightful blend of meanings you've created...
The beautiful settings transform the sculpture, making the familiar into something wonderful. It was interesting too to hear Jason talk about his work. Excellent.

1000 years from now, somebody will discover them and claim they must've been built by aliens.

When the statues are covered in sand and all, they kinda look like mummies!
