Kerberos are actually post German-invasion Japan's SWAT forces, though it can be asumed that this version is in fact the military leg that spawned kerberos.
In any case people don't stop being people because they're wearing a certain insignia that later became a taboo.
That's like saying Hindus are all racist mass murderers because the Swastika is derived from their symbology.
Soldiers are soldiers, no matter what the propaganda says.
a great short film i hope they make a movie from this i would love to see the german protect gear win at the battle of stalin and see them sweep across the east
This japanese dude made this animation as a schoolproject. This is from the Jin-Roh saga. If you want to know about the backround info then chek out the anime Jon-Roh the wofl brigade. Its about that the axis won the war and that germany developed this kind of armor to be used in the eastern front. Whats funny is that this is clearly the western front.
Anyways. Its fiction at its best. There is this audiobook / radio series about the ww2 and about this battalion that uses this kind of armor played in japan and apperently the creator got inspired by it and made this short animation. Anyways, thats all i know :)
the japanese believed we are their "smaller brothers"
if germany or the real freedom fighters (anti-communist) had won the war the world would be much better; without feeding the less(minderwertigen) we could share the planet and wouldnt waste our potential to kill each other but we could leave the planet to conquer the universe
@allesscheisse99 See? And I believe, that exactly ALL problem of today´s EU (Germany being its core) is in misguided people like you...
Commies went away. But their destructive utopian marxist ideas on society have became part of european psyche. Frankfurt school is perfect example of this.

come on! yes it is! THAT vid is glorification if i have ever seen it! It shows SS men in power-armor, shows them as heroes and as martyrs. Just listen to the music!

@Sycken And who cares? They just made a great anime and video! and is fucking great I dont care if is seen by as nazi propaganda by the same people that anyone aobut everyhing
@Sycken It does not matter if this piece of work was intended as a glorification of National Socialism or not, it probably doesn't matter. Fact is, Nazism in Japan is not a taboo. The symbols, uniforms, and perhaps anything related to Nazism is actually often sought after, and considered to be something cool by many.
@TakCWAL I know how things are in Japan, but that wasn't the point of what I said. Anyway, I cannot believe I still get replies for a 2 year-old comment :D
@Sycken Just seemed like you are trying quite hard to make us believe this short video is not intended as "glorification of any kind". Thus I am providing a counterpoint that yes, it is in a way, 'glorification' of National Socialism, or more specifically, the 'heroic sacrifice' of its soldiers, if you will.
@TakCWAL The video was made by Koichi Kishita, and you should know that this is inspired by the story behind Mamoru Oshii's Kerberos saga (Jin Roh, Kerberos Panzer Jager, etc) where Germany wins World War II, and occupies Japan (who was part of the Allied Powers instead of the US) establishing a pro German regime.
Also you should note that in Japan the use of the swastika is not prohibited by law and thus is not considered taboo.
No; these are the Kerberos Panzer Jägers - The original German anti-tank force. I'm not sure how they and the Japanese Panzer Korps are related, though.
They're not related per se, I think, except in equipment and, perhaps, fighting doctrine. In the alternate history setting of the Kerberos saga, I think Germany won WW2 and were the ones who occupied Japan. If I read the synopsis properly, one of the turning points in that alternate history is the supplying of the Protect Gear (which is pretty much bullet resistant full plate) to German soldiers in Stalingrad or something.
I think the guy in the front actually has a MG34. I know it's just a cartoon image but if you look real close you can see the round barrel jacket with the cooling holes cut in. The guy back left definitely is carrying a 42.
I've come across this before. It's supposed to be an MG-42 but the artists often show the older MG-34 as well. It's probably for variation without realising that they are manufactured differently and don't behave the same.
kick ass cgi, big props, movie comes out in 2009 right?
and Panzer's right, during the war and before it, the German military was far more advanced than anybody else, i mean many innovations of modern day weapons come from add-ons on German designs. Even to this day, Germany still continues to put out newer and better concepts and innovations. and the US is buying em.
jesus cristh .... are there actual human beings that believe those pics and footage to be real ... god, this video is awsome, but damn .... you ppl are stupid
Sure, this is based on the japanese manga called Kereberos Corps (Hellhound Panzer Cop in U.S, Germany, U.K) about a alternative WWII history. It's pretty good. There is also a movie release years ago for Jin-Roh which is also a good one. Look for em :)
nah dont worry its not real if the germans did have guys like that beleive me they would have kicked the shit out of the americans along with the russians easily, though i bet you could show that to a old person and make them beleive it were real:P
Not even. The Germans were so far ahead of the Allieds. However, what they lacked was means to produce any effective amounts of their new wonder equipment.
> That may be true. But you seem to miss the part where I mention "Arms Race." The allies would have come up with their own counterparts or would have stolen and modified the German ones.
I agree they would have tried, but it would have taken time. As was illustrated in the case of Infra Red mounted on weapons, just as one example. the Allieds never successfully used it in combat during WWII, something which the Germans succeeded in, with the Panther Tank, in 1944. It would have taken about two years to catch up I believe. And had the Germans had sufficient man power, those two years would have proven to be the end of atleast Britain and Russia.
Indeed. In numbers they reign. The T-34 was actually a great tank. Towards the later war, the construction quality really fell to shit, but it was not a bad design. Just that the later German tanks were much better than it.
yea, stray dog and red spec have been out since the 80's but add them both up its only like 10mins worth of the panzer cop outfit though. rest is really slow, i only suggest renting these and copying the action scenes.
Looks great, hope it makes it to the states, both the CG film and the live action. Extra Note: Two live action Jin-Roh movies were already released: The Red Spectacles and Stray Dog.
