  • @zippylad77 You are welcome ;)

  • I'm taking this beautiful piece and arranging for handbells. Should transcribe beautifully.

  • Excellent performance, and the organ sounds wonderful. Beautiful acoustics!

  • Beautiful job and a Beautiful Organ!

I Love a Makin! Keep the videos coming!! *****

  • Very good! Just one little thing - you're playing D naturals at 3:32 when they should be sharps. *****

  • very well spotted, you clearly know this piece very well! I was blissfully unaware until someone else pointed this out a few months ago. It's quite annoying really but the video's done now and I can't change it.

  • Beautifully played! Thanks!

  • Love the Makin organ!

You simply MUST hear Richard Morris' performance of this piece. It is THE all time definitive interpretation. Don't take my word for it; make contact and I'll get it to you immediately! In particular it shows how to treat the Cortege and also the ending but, talk about emotion stirring! You've just got to hear it! Marcel Dupre, himself, did not play it as effectively as Richard Morris. (Yes I have heard Marcel's own recording).

  • Very difficult to hear the Organ because of distorted sound quality. The playing is very fine . My overall impression and these are just my thoughts was I felt tonally there was plenty of brilliance in the upper registers but not enough in the way of gutsy reeds apart from your pedal 32's. It just sounded as if the organ has been over voiced in some registers. The full organ sounds very devastating.

  • turn down the volume, man

  • I appreciate your comments on the "devestating" full organ sound. However you can't really judge the organ by this recording. The audio quality is not great (I was only using a digital camera) and so when the organ builds up, it's all too much for the microphone to cope with this glut of sound. The organ has certainly not been over voiced in any registers.

  • You built the organ up really Well!! I have now been inspired to buy this piece of music and learn it.. lol.. thank you very much for sharing this.. Superb playing as always!!
