Did you use a larger battery than the stock 2200 mah 4s ? Mine was tail heavy, so I improved things a lot using a 3000 mah 4S. I also installed flaps, though they are not really needed.
I was looking at investing in one of these. Looks like it flys well, but having seen it flying about with it's gear only half tucked up, maybe I will think again!
@vanepico With a little tweaking they can be made to sit nicely, plus a 4-5 mm plate under the rear mount to increase rake angle will help the ground pecking problem. The new mk 2 retracts are screw jack driven,loads better, tho' one of mine is very wobbly ( bent screw jack) An excellent kit otherwise----so far !
poetry in motion, nice to see one of these landing without nosing over!, all credit to the pilot.

Do you mean stock 3200mAh?
A 2200mAh will be too small and it's not the suggested size.
Yes, it'll take a larger battery, say a 4000mAh 4S.
As you say, the flaps aren't really needed.

how do you get the CG for this plane?
don021980 4 months ago
@don021980
Look at the suggested point and then go forward from there, say 5-10mm to start with - the suggested CG is too far back.

@RCMandE thanks, happy flying.

I ordered a set of electric servoless retracts from pw-rc dot com

Version 2 of this plane has been released. They've changed the retract servos so I suspect they've heard the issues and have improved them.

The two retract servos were clearly struggling and both had died by the 15th test flight - replaced with metal gear micros - David.

@RCMandE
They probably died quick due to the abuse of the rough grass

Yes, everyone else has put what I was thinking, nice model, shame about the retracts.

Why is it that the retracts don't go fully up?
