  • Love your lessons John!

  • Best Teacher Ever ! Thank You.

  • when doing the A7, my highest bass note (4th string) almost always sounds dead. It seems a large stretch for me still, whilst keeping pressure on your index finger and still reach out with your pinky the other way. Is it just a matter of practice, or is there a way to make it feel like it isn't that much of a stretch? (loosen up your grip on the neck maybe? I still squeeze it pretty hardly, don't know if that's a good idea or not...)

  • Move the hand into position to make is easier for the pinky. Takes practice but the quick hand move makes it happen.

  • Nice guitar

  • that bar chord thing is quite a stretch. Im ganna be able to do finger splits pretty soon if i keep finding streatches like this...

  • thanks this is great

  • That is a beautiful Gibson.

  • Thanks for these videos John.

One quick question, you play the higher strings first as classical guitarrist would do (something I can do :)) but then you change to a Lightning Hopkings style. I'm trying mysefl but can't seem to be hitting the right strings with my index finger. Which ones do you play exactly?

    Cheers.

  • I play the top E and B strings with just an up-strum with the index finger. I was watching an old John Lee Hooker video and picked up that idea. You think it might be crude but it's the way more than the classical definition.

  • no he is using a Gibson ES 175 in this video.

  • Great as always ; ).

  • Thanks for that. I'm gonna practice !

  • great lesson!

i just realized a short while ago that i DIDNT have to make that stretch!

  • thanks for the tips

  • second as always.
