Fine filming once again, Phil. I think Royal Scot stands out as the pick of the bunch, not least because she's coupled to her carriages the right way round. I presume there was no turntable available for the others. A pity. As I recollect, back in the 50s and 60s it was rare to see passenger trains hauled by a backwards-facing engine bigger than an 0-6-0.

There's a turntable at Minehead, but they have to go one way or the other tender-first.

No, they run round the train and haul it in reverse, like Bittern is doing here.
