I've played this game before. I my friend helped me solve this problem. I'm trying to play this game again, but I cant get it to save. Is it because it's windows 7?

@rejhay21 heres what you should do for this issue, uninstall it, put the game on eBay (if you bought it) use the money to buy the game on XBOX, seems like PC ports of XBOX games are just broken alltogether, they should be remade, not ported

(vista 32bit) After patch, just did >computer>C:>program files>microsoft games>gears of war>binaries>double click "startup.exe" = whaddaya know, the fucking game runs(no right clicking,no properties, nuthin else). from all the different variations of getting this fuking game to work, hope this helps some poor bastard who wasted their money on this - long live piracy.

@BamiBalNL go to Start>Computer>Right Click C: Drive> Properties>Security (tab)>Advanced (button)> Owner (tab). Then assign the WHOLE drive to the Account that the PC belongs to (if your the only one, then the name of your created account. APPLY and wait for the drive to change abilities over to that account. Once done, Re-check the boxes for the Gears of War Security Settings.

Yea i guess. just a quick update. since doing the steps that i detailed below, i havent had any crash problems what so ever. I had it running for about 4hrs yesterday problem free with no crashes. It may be worth applying the security policies aswell detailed in this video. Never had any of these problems on XP. just vista and win7

Iv been havin the crashing problem on vista after installin the patch. this seems to work 4 me go to: computer c: program files microsoft games gears of war binaries scroll down to WarGame-G4WLive (the one with gears icon then: bring up the properties click compatability tab tick run as administrator and disable visual themes. ok out Seems to be working fine now, touch wood :)

i've heard there have been some problems with the file

it may be the file that isnt doing well with the others, and the reason for the problem

the reason is that you have to play on 1 profile

if you make a new one, your saves will be on the others

its pretty complicated, and a pretty stupid system

ahm if the error message is something like "cant run game with modified executable code" its a bug microsoft games is aware off

you can fix it by turning your computer clock back by a year or so

but if u set it to the right date its gonna give u the same error again!

and note: that some scripts (internet sites) in firefox for example may not be working anymore until you set ure cklock up to date again!

first i had to rewind my clocks then download a patch then i had to reset my clocks and now i have done the C++ error error fix and even solve the screen tearing waves when you look about this game is a nightmare! worth it in the end though 9/10 id say

nah, its not a mistake

you see, that audio was removed due to copyright, so i had to change it

so i used audio changer, and found out evanessence was legal to use on the site

so i popped them in instead :)

ahh :D clever clogs i fixed this i also fixed the issue of screen tearing when you look around it blurs vertically i also fixed another error however i have now got a visualC++ error :O this game is the hardest thing to Fix! im thinking of just rewriting a bit of it or something but im not sure what bit to begin with its a damn complex game :P

btw the C++ is unfixable i am sure of it this game is just screwed does yours work now without ever crashing?

but it wont start, because of the weird expired error(cant remember whats its called), but that can be fixed by setting you date back to before 10 january or something

turn ur date back to january 27th 2008 and keep playing but do not update it just every time you want to play it turn your date back or youl get the C++ error like i do lol unless you want to try the update it lets u play but then i just got the C++ error after all my work if you have trouble with the waves going up the screen its called screen tearing and i can fix that for you easy. :D

I can get into the game, and i start, and when i get to select whether i would like to go through the guards' quarters or straight to combat, i select guards' quarters, and when i go up the stairs to press the button, i get to the button, and press "e", and then the game crashes every time. And if i select to go straight to combat, it says "press G to see objectives" or something like that, and i press "g", and then the game crashes every time too! can you help me with that?

No, actually most Vista crashes are caused by Vista (or why would they be called Vista-crashes otherwise?). There are two options. Either people search for the errors in Vista and create fixes for it themselves, or Microsoft releases a better and good working Vista. Even though I want to expect the last, I wonder if it will be good at all, and in addition they will probably sell it for a damn high price again.

I have problem on my gears of war:

1. Longest Loading

2. When I start the game works perfectly until black screen appears the voice keeps on repeated, hang and quit the GOW itself by the computer

3. Error report appears

But the real problem of your videos tutorial that you shown was actually from the Microsoft Vista and mine is old Microsoft XP.

It makes me confuse all the sudden.
