@badgerbuddy GE is outselling EMD. Why? SImple, cheaper to maintain, more power output, better traction motors, GEs have 1 inverter per axle while EMDs have 1 inverter per truck which means that a GE can lose 2 traction motors on a 3 axle truck and still have power to that truck, but if an EMD loses a traction motor, they lose power to the entire truck even if only one traction motor has failed. Thats spells out who is more reliable. Why make loco wars? They both make great engines.

@DouglasP201 No. Its not the turbocharger. It is the stupid turbocharger gaskets that give way all the dam time. Im a conductor and I favor the C40-9W and the ES44AC. I like EMDs too, but it irks me to see people making loco wars. Its useless. You have opinions and not facts. EMD fans get mad because GE makes more power, the traction motors load faster, and think that because they break down that they are shit. I have seen many EMDs fail too. All locos break down. Nothing lasts forever, duh.

gotta love the steady clanger bells at the crossing. NS put up a digital bell at the 30th street crossing in Cleveland,Ohio. Its nothin more than speaker on a pole. I miss the old clanger bells that clanged in a really slow beat.....like the sound of school bells clanging in the classic "fire Drill" slow clang
