Hey this is really interesting.... is this a lot cheaper than just buying 1??? and you make a really good one that is easy to work with????? and any suggestions on where to by kits?? GOOD VID. THX
We'll see when i am done. I am trying for perfection. That means that there are no discernable errors with the equipment that I use. I am awaiting a Low Pressure Sodium Ballast to complete my interferometer so that I can check further.
No I do not build for others. This is strictly my hobby. Perhaps when I retire I will be able to make telescopes commercially, but for now, it is my recreation.
Thank you for posting the videos, I'm from Brazil and I'm building my 1st telescope. I'm in the process of acquiring the blanks, I'll start with a 6" one. I'm reading the classic book from Richard Berry
you can market these to machinists for calibrating micrometers and checking surfaces

Thank you for your comment
Yes, I could market the flats, but when your hobby becomes your job, you no longer have a hobby.

Do you build for other people? And if you do what do you charge?

Thank you for asking.

Does your cat interfere in your optical shop :-)

Unfortunately, the cat went outside one day some months ago and has not returned. She did interfere, but it was not a burden.

Thank you for watching my videos on a rather unusual subject. I'm afraid this can be about as exciting asd watching mud dry...
Wait a minute, this is a video about watching mud dry!

Your intro is pure comedy: "...pick out a Meade or Celestron...or an Obsession...
...if you're well-endowed..."
