Yeah, the best adaptation by a mile is the Alex Kingston version done as a series by Granada for British t.v. There is no similarity here, and it's such a feisty type of role - Kingston is the perfect actress for it.

So I bought this movie, having read the book and I am appalled that the movie producers even suggest their movie is based on the book. There is no similarity between the two except for the title. Not one ounce of similarity. I'm a little ticked off!
saw this a long while back, when I was like 12...just finished the book...and from what I remember of the movie, these are 2 completely different stories...
Did they take any part of the novel into the making of the movie?
