It broke my heart watching your little one seize like this. I went through the exact same thing with my son. Please please take your baby for tests to rule out any form of Metabolic Disorder. There are some Mitochondrial disorders that present with unusual seizures that go undiagnosed.
To everyone saying help him, seriously I know it's scary but you can't help when he is seizing, you have to wait it out. They were doing the best they could by recording it. My son has had every type of seizure since he was 4 months old. This baby is going through some pain right now but it's not considered a medical emergency. I hope all is well with your son, and things do get easier as time goes by.

Not to be mean, but did you know there was something more serious than the reflux or just went along with what Drs. told you. We, parents, are our children best advocates. I did not care if my son's pediatrician though I was a neurotic mom, I did have I had to do. Don't be afraid to speak up.

It also makes me wonder, because he has been having these seizures since he was born and ( well I never thought of this before) if babies that are born with a seizure disorder, I wonder if they have the seizures during the time they are developing in the womb? That had to be the hardest thing for you to do but I so understand why you had to video it. We had the same thing happen to our baby girl who is now 4y and they really don't do anything to help unless they have it happen infront of their eyes. That is so sad that most Doctors think you are lying or don't know what you have just saw. She has not had anymore but it scares me sometimes still because it is a hard thing to forget! I've had small ones too so it might run in family! More lately!
The diagnosis of neonatal seizures is not always easy (I know, I am a pediatrician), so videos like this are very important things to show to your doctors and help to prevent misdiagnoses. One video says more than thousand words...

This is trully heart breaking.. i have 15 yrs old that when she gets her seisures it depends sometimes she says that he eyes are itching and scaching her nose, or sometimes she screams and tightens her body.. its not easy living with this disease i act like if she was 3 yrs old ...watching her where ever she goes.. sothat nothng happens 2 her but the strange things she gets her seisures inthe house never in the street.. thank god...

Thank you for posting this...I am a nursing student in a NICU and was feeding a baby and all of a sudden his behavior switched completely...he started breathing rhythmically and his eyes rolled back and forth and I called over my preceptor and told her I thought something was wrong and she just flinched and said he was tired...I am convinced after watching this that he did have a seizure...and will be more assertive next time this happens...

my nephew had these, he is totally handicapped today!! this is from the DPT shots and other shots there giving our kids. please do not get any more shots!!! I care for my nephew, he is now 27 and was 3 months old when he started these seizures. he was born normal and with no birth trauma! stop taking the shots, look up shots and the government. its real there trying to kill our kids.

He looks like he's gasping for breath and in a lot of pain. I can see how sickly he looks. Was he always that way or did you notice the seizures after his vaccines?
@upluteajack Vaccines didn't do this to him. If you read the information under the video, it is from a rare brain malformation. That would be from birth and they state that it was misdiagnosed as colic during his first 8 weeks of life. I really wish people like you would stop trying so hard to vilify vaccines. Parents with special needs children have enough on their plates without having to put out all the anti-vaccine fires that get started around their children.

@janineaaaaaa Study after study has shown there is no causal link between vaccines and autism. You seem to take issue with my use of the word vilification and yet that is what is going on. A very small but out spoken group of parents continue to keep the autism vaccine debate alive and I would rather see it die so research can be devoted to real causes and new treatment options. I see that this was posted back in 2008 so I dont even know if you will even get my post my post. I have a seizure disorder and I just have to say that this video is extremely heart breaking. I cannot imagine watching my newborn go through this. I would have been able to look at this baby and one of these episodes and tell you that these were seizures. Thank you for sharing this with the rest of the world, it took a lot of courage. Hope it helps others with children.
Your poor baby...crying by the disturbances--he doesn't even have the peace of being able to forget or be absent for the seizures--I don't think I've cried so hard in quite some time. I wish you all the best and hope that sweet baby doesn't have to suffer with seizures all his life.

Oh my gosh! God bless your baby! This is very sad to watch. I have a 3 month baby of my own and I do not wish this upon any parent or baby to have to go through this.

I'm not even a parent and I think this is terrifying. I'm very glad you were able to find a proper diagnosis, and I can't imagine how terrified the two of you must have been. I applaud your bravery in posting this video as a resource for other parents who may be experiencing the same thing.

I recently attended a seminar by a neurologist who had used several youtube clips to inform other professionals about seizure activity and involuntary abnormal movements. Through these parents' wise decision to film their misfortune, there have been hundreds of people who are better able to recognize warning signs and who have received much-needed help. Thank you for your video and for your contribution to furthering others' knowledge.

Ohhh my goodness.! My daughter is prone to seizures but luckily hasnt had one yet. I salute you for how you deal with it.! <3 Is the cutie doing any better.?

i am so sorry for your baby.. my mom also has seizures and its very sad to see this. she started taking medication for this and she is doing beter.when i showed my mom this video she started crying. i hope your baby is doing better.

my nephew had these, he is totally handicapped today!! this is from the DPT shots and other shots there giving our kids. please do not get any more shots!!! I care for my nephew, he is now 27 and was 3 months old when he started these seizures. he was born normal and with no birth trauma! stop taking the shots, look up shots and the government. its real there trying to kill our kids.

I am glad people have the courage to show this sort of thing to others, what a gift to other parents looking for answers!!
Just think of what it would have been like if these poor parents could have found a video of this happening to another child with the diagnoses written out for them?!! It would have saved them So much heartache, fear and self doubt and their little angel so much discomfort and fear!!

my baby son is suffering bad from colic at the moment. i couldnt imagine how hopeless u must have felt when this was happening, i would be worrying about his health 24/7, i wouldnt sleep. hope hes grown out of it.

This made me cry & the parents where brave and loving in posting this. It helps other parents to determine whats wrong and also helps us get ideas on ways to get doctors to LISTEN sooner. Bless you all. I hope your baby is ok now!

He looks like he's gasping for breath and in a lot of pain. I can see how sickly he looks. Was he always that way or did you notice the seizures after his vaccines?

@upluteajack Vaccines didn't do this to him. If you read the information under the video, it is from a rare brain malformation. That would be from birth and they state that it was misdiagnosed as colic during his first 8 weeks of life. I really wish people like you would stop trying so hard to vilify vaccines. Parents with special needs children have enough on their plates without having to put out all the anti-vaccine fires that get started around their children.

@TheRealVenna And who are you, the FDA? People can't ask questions about vaccines being a factor? I am a firm believer in vaccination but some kids DO have bad reactions, and I also believe seizures and autism CAN be instigated by bad reactions. So get off your soapbox and let people ask questions. People are allowed to comment without having people like you protesting some "VILIFICATION". When did that happen?

@janineaaaaaa Study after study has shown there is no causal link between vaccines and autism. You seem to take issue with my use of the word vilification and yet that is what is going on. A very small but out spoken group of parents continue to keep the autism vaccine debate alive and I would rather see it die so research can be devoted to real causes and new treatment options. The question about vaccines was ridiculous in this baby's case. It states clearly it was malformation from birth...

@janineaaaaaa My 'agenda' is trying to help people understand there aren't nearly as many dangers to vaccines as a small group of people and the media would like us to believe. My 'agenda' is trying to shift focus away from issues that have been proved time and time again to be groundless and toward more promising areas of research. Not everything bad that happens is because of vaccines and they prevent a lot of bad in themselves if people would only realize it. Science in this case is not wrong

I believe freedom of speech is still alive and well in my country, therefore I can share my thoughts just as rightly as you can. My kid has Lissencephaly the exact same thing happened to me. I mean exactly. Thank you for sharing infant seizures (he is having myocolonic and partial seizures here).

I see that this was posted back in 2008 so I dont even know if you will even get my post my post. I have a seizure disorder and I just have to say that this video is extremely heart breaking. I cannot imagine watching my newborn go through this. I would have been able to look at this baby and one of these episodes and tell you that these were seizures. Thank you for sharing this with the rest of the world, it took a lot of courage. Hope it helps others with children.

Wow...some people are idiots.
Your poor baby...crying by the disturbances--he doesn't even have the peace of being able to forget or be absent for the seizures--I don't think I've cried so hard in quite some time. I wish you all the best and hope that sweet baby doesn't have to suffer with seizures all his life.
