Same problem here. The IRIS I can accept, at least you can disable it. But the electronic noise is very annoying. Connected to my computer I can actually change the frequency of the buzzing by moving and resizing windows.
I have contacted Epson support. They didn't make a good impression so far. I'll have to wait and see whether they will be able to fix it.

I got a response from Epson that this was a DOA, so I only had to return it to get a new one, within 28 (!) days (a bit too long).
After reading a lot of forums i have realized that the iris is actually quite loud, and that a replacement would most certainly be loud.
Also, after mounting it upside down in the ceiling the "grinding" noice became much better. So I have decided to keep it without returning.

I just got my 6000W, and i have exactly the same issues!
I have been in contact with Epson support, and they will get back to me in a couple of days to see if i will get a replacement.
