  • hey people, THIS IS NOT JAMBALAYA BY HANK SR! just because a song has the same name as another doesnt make it a cover, remake, or copy. the lyrics are wayyy different. the rhythym is WAYYYYY different

  • The best version of Hank Williams "Jambalaya" is Emmy Lou Harris. A must hear. Check it out!

  • wtf is this this crap !!??? i was thinking that i was hear some version of hank sr song....after hank nobody should use any words he used to name his songs....

  • FOLLAME BRUCE

  • Who is gonna pay my medical bill now dat my ears are bleeding??? Leave jambalaya to hank williams. Go ruin someone elses music bruce

  • @filo5opher hahaha, that's funny. Ultimately it's a similar song one word only: Jambalaya. The tune and lyrics are completely different. Not my fav Springsteen song but he's got some other great tunes

  • p.s. if you really want to hear an 'interesting' by which I mean awful rendition of Jambalaya then listen to the carpenters version, gag.

  • This song was a favorite of mine. As I remember it was the final song that SteelMill played before the cops broke up the concert at Clearwater in Middletown.

  • This is a joke, right? it's awful.

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 It's only a joke if you don't consider that it's by one of the greatest learning his craft as a teenager. Several years after this he wrote the lyrics and music to Thunder Road, Born to Run, Backstreets,Jungleland, Growing Up, Sandy, etc. before he turned 25. Unmatched by anyone else save Bob Dylan.

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 the sound quality maybe is,but the music is no less than great. What a great band was that,Dr.Zoom and the Sonic Boom.Bruce with bobby williams and all of them.Awesome!

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 Please let us know more about your esteemed musical tastes. Noise?

  • This is cool! I never heard it before,

  • Hey

be glad you are hearing springsteen

  • Hank died on Jan. 1, 1953 and Hank obviously didn't write Jambalaya in '54. The song is a traditional song and nobody knows who actually wrote it. Hank adapted a song named "Grand Texas" into Jambalaya. By the way this noise from Springsteen is a joke.

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 Your talking out of your arse. The Boss sings it fine maybe the other musicians are over playing it a bit.

  • NOT THE SAME SONG AS THE ONE HANK WILLIAMS WROTE.

I wrote more caps than you, therefore I win.

  • The melody is based on the old Cajun tune Gran Texas

  • actuall toscadryliver u need to get ur facts right how could hank write and record the son in 54 when he died in 52 ur an asshole

  • Jambalaya was originally written by Hank Willams sr. in 1954

    Later recorded by everyone.

  • yes but this is not the same song.

  • @modst84

Hank Williams (født 17. september 1923 i Alabama, død 1. januar 1953 i West Virginia.

  • @ToscaDryliver you dumbfuck he died in 1952

  • @ToscaDryliver

Hank Williams died Jan. 1st 1953 - I knew he was good, but writing songs after he died, that is pretty damn good trick!

  • @jehovahuponyou He was de-composing.

  • @PowerThirteen - I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR POST MEANT.

BUT, HANK WILLIAMS Sr. DIED JAN. 1st, 1953 - WHEN HE DIED HE WAS DEAD - BEFORE THAT DATE HE MAY HAVE BEEN FUCKED UP MOST OF THE TIME, BUT, MEDICALLY SPEAKING HE WAS ALIVE - MUSICALLY SPEAKING, HE IS STILL MORE ALIVE THAN MOST OF THESE GODDAMN ROTTEN FUCKS WHO CALL THEMSELVES COUNTRY MUSIC SONG-WRITERS AND SINGERS!

ToscaDryliver WROTE: " you dumbfuck he died in 1952"

SOON I SHALL CUSS THE POOR FOOL, BUT I AM TIRED NOW.

  • @jehovahuponyou Writing music is known as "composing". After death, the flesh decomposes. I was trying to make a pun (and the pun failed, from the look of it).

Just for the record, I agree that Hank Williams was a great songwriter and musician. Sorry for the confusion. :)

  • @PowerThirteen - YOU HAVE OUT WITTED OLE JEHO - IT IS NOT NICE TO OUT WIT MOTHER NATURE, MUCH LESS OLE JEHO - ROFL!

THAT WAS A GOOD ONE, THIRTEEN, SORRY I MISSED IT. AND NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE, AFTER I SEE THE 'COMPOSE'-'DECOMPOSE' THING IT WAS A GOOD ONE.

I WILL STILL CUSS DRUNKLIVER, THOUGH - ROFL!

AND, YES, OLE HANK WAS A GREAT SONGWRITER AND MUSICIAN!

  • @ToscaDryliver

Yes guy, and only god knows how old Hank made it, whilst dying one year earlier, January 1, 1953 .. cheers!

  • @ToscaDryliver . If you read this , in 1954 HW had been dead for nearly two years.

  • i loooove bruce!!

  • who wrote this song?

  • its funny but it kinds of reminds me of thundercrack, like a fun party song with a mish mosh of music, perfect for goofing around in concert.

  • I can definitely hear the Thundercrack in it....and I can also hear shades of Kitty's Back and Rosalita in there too. Hell, to bring things full circle, you can even draw a comparison to Mary's Place as well.

Plus ca change, plus ca meme

The thing with this early stuff is.....it's so unpolished. Not nearly the finished quality of the later songs, but there's that raw talent here that you can just imagine sitting in at this concert, you were seeing the future of Rock and Roll.

  • @fallenchief123

Not very weird since it has exactly the same chord progression as Thundercrack. I think it's in a different key though than the recording on Tracks.

  • great song! i gotta like bruce's music and style :)

  • this is a badass song

  • Forget the rumours about Tracks 2, one thing I really wish they'd release is a box set of all Bruce's pre-Greetings stuff. This is fantastic. :D

  • Absolutely. In fact, any pre-BTR stuff. Evacuation of the West is oen of the greatest Springsteen songs ever. There are more out there!!!!!

  • Wow! Wow! Wow!...Super!

  • Great stuff - I posted it too before realising it was already here. One thing - the show is actually from Newark State College (the day after the Sunshine In show), but the pic is from the Newark show. The pics on the bootleg cover are from the SI show but no audio exists of that show.

  • its not even the same song

  • Thank You! (was wondering when someone was going to point that out, even though it's obvious, a lot of people didn't seem to get it). You can have a lot of different songs named "I Love You", ..it's just different in its own right.

  • Have you actually even LISTENED to one of your "favorite Hank Williams songs"? This is a completely different song, it simply has the same title. Methinks you're another one of the "I hate Springsteen's politics, therefore he can do nothing right" people.

  • Wow that guy must be on meth to not know this isn't the same song. Or at least dangerously stupid.

  • Yeah, he totally changed the lyrics and the music. In fact, it doesn't even sound like the Hank song now! In fact, it's as if Bruce wrote a song with the same title and is performing that!

    ...oh wait.

  • Was this on one of his albums?

  • No.

  • this is great stuff. got any more like this, tokyo(and the band played) perhaps?

  • yea but I want to make a video next time so its going to take some time.

  • This is good stuff, Love it. Wish there was a video. The picture is good.

    Thanks.
