the mixing is great. drums are low and way left. nothing but vocals in the middle. bass too. very thin guitar off to the right side along with some twirling organ sound buried in there if you listen closely. so simple yet such a huge sound.
Im watching WoodStock right now and i heard this song and it was so different from everyother song on that movie. It was heavier and great. I love it.
@stefan211990 May be it is a blessing. Think about it, if you are male you probly would have been drafted and possibly killed. In retrospect it seems so glam and exciting. There was so much violence and bloodshed.

you know they say that this the who and this song and the movie tommy is very satanic and is part of the whole illuminati..like sending messages. and its really interesting if u research and pay close attention to the movie. and songs
With social media prevalent and people not interacting face to face as much, the opening lyrics really resonate - and I think of those that inspire me who aren't afraid to see me, feel me, touch me....and heal me. (sound of car horn twice) <3
i am grateful to my older sister who always listened to the best music had to offer when I was just an 11 year old, because of her, here i am old now, and can say that music mae me who i am today
Amazing :") my older brother played the lead in the show of "Tommy" and he brought everyone in tears by halfway through the show, hes 22 and he is one of the most amazing actors i have ever seen work on stage. I am extremely non - biased so iknow what im talking about, buthe was so amazing, even the director was sobbing when he sang this and by the very end of the show hegot a standing ovation and everyone walked out with puffy red eyes! just imagine how proud i am, i hope you can feel that way.
I do NOT care for the Who for the most part, their commercial pop chart songs that were just bad, i.e- Who are you, who who! lame,,,,, no talent needed, extemely over-rated band.
That being said, I like vintage Who, inc. Happy jack, Magic Bus and will acknowledge what a great drummer Keith Moon was.
Your comment that if you dont likey, you can DIe, sounds lame too and extremely immature! just saying!
@harryhall1961 Older than you if 1961 means anything reguarding your age. I stand by my comment, and "NO" they did not start rock n roll, LOL, not even close.

Best song ever My best friend commited suicide when she was 17 this was her song . Its been 24 years and this is the first time I could listen to it since we played it at her funeral,,,,,,love u Tam
I remember like it was yesterday. The local eating establishment where i worked in high school had a jukebox. This song and pinball wizard were always two of my favorite's. And both were always playing constantly it seemed like, when they were new back then :):):)
The Who is the reason why there is both PUNK and METAL BANDS without The Who there would be a huge gap in Music The Who filled and PIONEERED MANY OF THOSE GAPS very talented and fun to listen to
I am 55 years old. I followed them for 40 years, have seen them and love them! Thank you Pete. Thank you Roger. Thank you John (RIP). Thank you Keith (RIP). This is it! At what 25 Pete Townsend says "hey" i want to write a rock opera! True genius! Real genius Thank you all for giving me the music, the memories, thank you for giving me the understanding of what rock and roll is truly about. God bless you. God love you all!! Long Live Rock and Roll! The Who Forever!
The concept of this album came from Pete Townshend. He admitted to being molested by his Uncle as a kid. He turned bad, horrible feelings and experience into a positive, which is art/music.
@Trendkill213 Does your mommy know you are playing on her computer! Sorry harryhall1961, the shell lives here! Go play with your snakes and spiders, thing.

@AtomicVHPunk I don't remember asking you a fucking thing, I just like the band, why don't you just let me have my opinion, I stated my original opinion to nobody in particular, take your own advice bitch, fuck you for bothering me, don't give me shit just because I'm passionate about a great band. Also don't call me dude, that's a term used only unto me by my good friends, you fucking little punk!!!
The recorded version I never liked. Too slow paced. It's the concert versions that have always been the best, because of all of the experimentations they used for the song. Phenomenal song either way.
True, but the sauce is still missing. It's like the Beatles when they got real tired, at Shae Stadium in N.Y., they just seemed to not give a shit about the proper playing of the song (or more like how they represented themselves on stage) and just fuck'n rocked the songs. That's the kind of sauce I'm talking about.
Also, did you ever see the interview with Pete T. about that song? It's in the DVD 'The Who @ The Isle of Wight 1970'. Very cool concert back then and great interview. The DVD is the best I've seen of all of their footage so far of their older stuff. Same can be said when they did the song @ Woodstock the year before. Pete's guitar work, etc. was phenomenal.
I like how kids always brings up beiber and give themselves kudos for listening to actual music, your not special. those "pop" kids are just bringing down the curve so it makes it seem that way. Leave all that Pop trash out of these Who posts.

The recorded version I never liked. Too slow paced. It's the concert versions that have always been the best, because of all of the experimentations they used for the song. Phenomenal song either way.

@ImOfNope
I think the problem is really that the backing is mixed down way too low.

Keep rocking!
