Set up your gyro again, without trim and in rate mode. Make sure you don't have the servo type set to digital. Once you get it to hold in rate mode you can flip to HH mode and you should be set. That's if you still have the issue or the heli.
It turned out there was a problem with the spektrum, and finally got it back today, charged my battery and dam it, it did the same bloody thing. I cant understand why a tail servo would burn out because it had bearly been flown. but that will be my next investigation.
Nope, replaced the tail rotor servo tonight and same thing. I pulled the old one apart too to check the cogs, they were fine.
Next I started looking at how the tail blades pulled back and they are really slow to go to pull back from the far end of the tail shaft to the neutral position, maybe it is a bent tail shaft rod?? will replace that and see how things go.
if you go to spektrum`s web site there is a recall on the dx6i dealing with something to the affect of what you maybe exspereinceing. you may give that a shot
I have and it didn't make any difference. but I think I have the answer.
I was watching a video on setting up the DX6i and went to the travel adj menu and when you flick the rudder from left to right, it mostly stays on the right with intermittent bursts of left rudder despite holding it to the left. looks like it might be a switch problem.
Yeah, and have tested the circuit to make sure (as 32323222 above suggested).
I have tried turning down the gain on the gyro but it doesn't make any difference, checked the setings on my Dx6i and they are the same as the factory ones. It worked out of the box, has survived a few crashes, and was working well, then half way through a battery it just started doing it. I thought it might have been the metal shed we were flying in but it is the same out side?
for one it doesnt look like your gyro is on make sure its pluged in right. the second plug from the right should be a singal yellow wire.the singal wire is on the top pin
next after gyro is on you want to unscrew the servo arm and make it as striaght up and down as possible. then make linkage adjustments at the tail slider
I checked to make sure it was plugged in and the wires were in the correct spot. I adjusted the servo arm as you suggested too, re-centering it, but it still wants to drive one way. I haven't had a good chance to try the linkages to the tail slider will try that next.
also check in the sub trim setting`s in your radio. make sure you havent some how got the rud/rudder adjustment moved. it should have a (0) in the trim
I have, played around with the rudder trim adjustment and the tracking on the DX6i. at one stage I thought there was a problem with the transmitter, but it was not the one recalled, Iv had to put it aside for a few weeks because of an upcoming exam, but it is still not working.

FIXED IT! - BENT TAIL ROTOR SHAFT
Disconnected the ball link underneath to move the tail fins manually, and could feel it sticking.
I reset all of the DX6i settings to the default - had a back up copy in position 10
This stopped the hard pull to one side but if you gave it any tail input it would spin really hard to either side.
The gyro settings were all screwed up, probably from me dicking around and trying everything. Reset them to defaults and......
Now it is great again!

i have forgotten if you said you have replaced the tail servo. i was just thinking it may be burnt out if your running it in digital mode
