hi, my gran started to teach me this tune last week which she learned 70-80 years ago! She has had it in her head ever since and plays it ever so slightly different. still very true to the real deal though. my question if anyone knows the answer is, does Vasa Prihoda play the doubles natural or is it dubbed in the studio? i will post a video response with my recording also.
unsurpassable performance and bringing out the best of the romantic era without excessive schmaltz. This is how the violin most approaches the human voice!
It would be so easy to play this kind of music as mere schmalz, ala Kreisler. But Prihoda makes it sound like a great composition. Beautiful tone and style. Thanks for this and the Drdla.
You know it must be me. I bought all of these CD's and I have to be honest. I think the mechanical ,and early electronic sound inparticular with classical artists was more true to the artists than all of this digital technology.IM glad I kept all of my lp's and 78's
very nice music

very nice. some of the harmonics were beyond the capabilities of the recording medium back then.

I have heard just about every available violinist playing this piece, live or recorded. By far Vasa Prihoda is the best. Thank you for sharing.

I have often wondered what Orpheus played to win Eurydice back from the underworld. Now I know !

Os arranhões, tão peculiares, deixam saudades...
Bela gravação, embora eu esteja procurando uma do disco que se intitula "Turnê pela Itália, cuja orquestra, lamentavelmente eu me esqueci o nome.
Alguém a conhece? Por favor, me ajudem.
Muitíssimo obrigada, desde já.

Lots of rubato. I like that. Very good sound for a Polydor.
