Dificult to compare scanners if we do not know how fast they are. Maybe you reviewers could show us how fast it scans on different modes and dpi-s. That would be very very usefull for all of us viewers. People generally have a particular need and to fulfil that they buy goods. For example HP multi-function printers scan too on low dpi-s and they are fast too. Again, on low resulution. So if you need a scanner for low res like books or magazines, than it may be good enough.
Try to run your Epson Perfection with SilverFast scanner software to get maximum quality. Check out our youtube channel for more information about SilverFast
@rednwhite100 . Thanks reply, Dave. I know there are cheap, slow little toys. Are there any "professional, high quality negative scnners? Names? Thanks very much.
this can't be called a review, it is just a short commercial describing SOME features without any details, the scanner has not even been connected or used and no evaluation of speed or quality has been done. Close to the worst review ever.
Thanks for the reivew. I have hundreds of medium format color negatives given to me by my wedding photographer a year after my wedding, so I have ownership of the professional negatives for use, but really want to digitalize all of them to make a book, and just to preserve them from age. Would this be an appropriate tool for what I want to do (which is preserve and re-print in good ( up to 11x14 print size) resolution? I am medium on tech-savy scale.
@vossbra Hello Anne, this would be a good choice, however with hundreds of negatives it might be worth looking at a dedicated scanner that would be a lot faster.
thanks for the Epson V500 review. i too have 1,000's of negatives to scan. You mention a "dedicated" scanner. I will be so gratful if you would advise what you mean please. thanks
@davomrmac thanks for the reply, do you know if the epson v300 auto crops? i searched google and found nothing. also your channel is great, YOU ACTUALLY REVIEW SCANNERS, most of the videos on youtube are just either fake, or just advertisement for the scanner, none of them are reviews. so thanks for making these videos!
@VanMedia Not 100% sure, but it uses the same software I think, so I would expect it to. I would suggest going on the Epson website, go to support, do an online chat with them to confirm.
how fast does it scan? im more concerned about speed. the as long as quaity is somewhat decent, then im fine. but i need fast scan so i can scan books in my school library so that i do not have to buy books for class :D
i have an image 4 in long and 8 in wide. i scan it and brighten the color. so, now, i press file and print(cant do it from my copier/printer because it copies and prints the image but its not lightened) and when it prints its prints 1 third the size, how do i fix it so it goes back to normal size???
We have an HP scanner at work and it does a preview scan of multiple slides at once and automatically crops the photos, but most of the time I have to adjust the crop areas on each photo before doing the final scan. Then, on the final scan, the scanner goes back and scans each slide individually, which is very time consuming. Can the software on this scanner scan all slides at once, crop them and put them in each their own file by doing one sweep? It would save a lot of time if it can do that.
Sorry, I deleted someone's comment. The green screen I am using was from ebay... it is very tricky to get a good key, though my October videos will be greatly improved.
So will this scan any old photographs on to a computer/laptop? Because I need such a device..

Are you going to use a green screen again? :-) That would be cool :-)

you review something but do not show us hands-on results from the product?

What review? All he did was mention specs. It was neccessary to spend the first 25 seconds showing us he's a gadget addict either.

I didn't test that TBH. However, from past experience I am pretty sure it can.
