It seems like you have a good relationship with your sister, thats cool haha. Its good to get along with your brothers or sisters and even better if they are into videogames :D.
Nice topic for a video, its interesting to hear music that resembles music from a videogame.
Hehe you sure are right about those songs, whenever I think of em; all I think of is that it would sound like something in either an rpg, Guilty Gear, or Castlevania. Awesome idea guys.
@n1cknak Thanks, glad you liked the choices! I actually used Evil In You by Kalmah (another gamey song by them) as the battle theme in a RPG Maker game I made way back in the day, and put a bunch of other songs in there as well.
Cool choices. Bal Sagoth rule. Even their songs with guitars, drums, and vocals sound a lot like video game music, too. Their narrative spoken vox always reminds me of a game or movie intro or something. My favorite album of theirs is Starfire Burning Upon and also Cthonic Chronicles. :)
@Saruman007 Definitely. Pretty much all of their songs sound like they could be in a video game. They're all really epic. I think they have some of the best symphonic elements of any band for sure. I find it hard to pick my favourite album of theirs, since they all have some gems.
Damn guys awesome idea for a video plus i went down to my vintage game store and got crono trigger and power blade so im pretty excited fucking for your next LPs!!!
@AcousticKoi Glad you liked the vid, dude. It got a really positive response so we might have to do a sequel at some point! There are tons of songs that remind me of video game music, so we could even make this a sort of series, probably!
And epic games to pick up, dude. Both absolutely incredible games that are tons of fun.
@Frostbitten24 I don't know... I think it's keyboards, because the band uses a lot of symphonic elements that are provided by their keyboard player, so I'm assuming it's him being a badas.
Some amazing song choices there, especially They Will Return by Kalmah. I always thought Voiceless Army by Crystalic would be cool in a Devil May Cry game :)
@DemonmachinE ye, as for your question at the end, I'd say things like Turisas, Eluveitie, and Ensiferum have some great things that could be turned into game music. The song "The Misshapen Steed" by Agalloch always makes me a picture some sort of abandoned village in an RPG or something too haha. I like how you mentioned Aces High in this too, "Gang Plank Galleon" from DKC always reminds me of Iron Maiden.
@IcarusWitchFan Gang Plank Galleon definitely has some maiden-esque elements to it, yeah. And yeah, I think folk metal overall can all be pretty videogamey.
Check out Sad Widow by Troll Gnet El, that song sounds like a very happy video game song to me. So do many other songs by that same band. (They're also known as Troll Bends Fir).
And Haggard. They're orchestral metal that heavily emphasizes the orchestra... they have an actual orchestra. XD
Happy 100th video!
