I used my c64 to blow up the world and then traveled back in time before the Earth blew up and stopped myself because I had to have a place to sleep--and nobody believes me!
Yeah, I don't believe that story about thinking you blew up the earth. If you were that mentally challenged they wouldn't have let you touch the computer. You might have gotten drool on it.
@ThePinkhamsterino Everyone has the right to have a childhood. I know mine involved the Atari, and playing games where I had no idea wtf I was doing. Just managing to move a guy across the screen was progress for me.
Same here. I was "playing" games on my dad's computers and had my own Sega Genesis (with Streets of Rage 2, awesome game) by the time I was 3 years old.
I had this on the 64 too, then I played it on my friend's Atari ST and realised how cut down the 64 version was, and that it was in fact a huge con as it only had about 15% of the original game's content.
lol at your description. i never played this one but i had commander blood and i would tell my freinds basically the same thing. how i loved those times
Why is it that 90% of the times there's a representation of the earth in videogames and comic book, the continent are all wrong? This ain't the earth! Where's america? Australia? What are these country? WTF
That's definitely not Earth, and depending on what the creator of the game had in mind, that planed is supposed to be either 15 or 158 million light years away from Earth. The game is set in the "Hydra Galaxy", which may refer to the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy (15 million light years away) or the Hydra Cluster (158 million light years away).
i know what you mean. I blew up earth and thought oh my god what have i done, and i couldnt sleep, and still cant, coz u dont know if the game was set in the year 2008.
I had this game for PC, it was very original and extremely atmospheric.
The game booklet said you were the only human on the ship, whose organs were slowly been replaced with synthetic ones because of you getting old and older, your only companion an artificial AI.
The ship itself and many of the weapons were biomechanical.
It's strange to think about it now, but when I was a kid, computer games were mysterious things. I didn't know how they worked, why they did what they did, or anything.
The first game that ever asked me for my name to record a high score was Felix in the Factory. I typed "Felix", thinking it was a test and another part of the game.
hahahaha excellent!!! So felixn how u been doing? that's exactly the way games should be played! as for me, i could hardly understand anything to most of the adventure games either, but i just loved the atmospheres, the moods. i remember a feodal-like adventure game of which i don't know the name anymore. ùy favourite concerning the atari st platform
Commodore 64 ROMs are extremely easy to find, dude. I'm not sure if it's against the youtube ToS to post links here, but trust me these things are easy as hell to find.
Reading your description makes me relive my overactive imagination as a child, such rich, indelible memories.
