Your boats fascinate me. My area of life is supported by tourists as well. I do not feel bad when a person spends more on a vacation than I make in a year. That money feeds the economy and the people in my town. I would rather earn money from a rich tourist than trade my self respect for a handout from a missguilded do-gooder.
I wonder if I would feel bad taking the bat trip, knowing that the cost per day is more than a family i India makes in 6 months.... I sense that Kerala people do not take luxurious, elite vacations on such boats....
Oh, and im not putting all the people there down and hating on them, but its the folks you dont see unless you leave the nice areas or just passing through them that look at you as food! there in every country and you just have to look out for the family on vaca....
