  • Why do so many people think its a girl? I'm sure it's a boy.

  • @TheDocoz123 in the "my life with aspergers syndrome" video, SHE puts up an annotation saying shes a girl, thats why.

  • I didnt know you were a girl!! i've only seen one other video. you don't look manly or anything... i think it was just seeing your hair short. I love your videos!! you seem like a wonderful persone!! The people in your life are blessed to have the presence of you company!!

  • Hi, I love your videos and I'm very inspired by them. My nephew is just diagnosed with autism (they're not sure if it is Aspergers yet or not).

Could you please let us know how old you were when you were diagnosed and whether you missed any developmental milestones (like walking late or talking late etc)?

I would really appreciate you taking the time to answer.

    Many thanks from New Zealand.

  • @FairytalesDreams Having Asperger's I wasn't delayed. I actually talked VERY early. 6 months old my first word wasn't your usually dada mama thing. My first word was "light"! And at 6 months I was pointing to lights going 'ight 'ight! (That was a sign right away I was different lol).. I didn't walk until 14 months which is a tad delayed but not much.

  • hehe msn XD

  • I want to thank you so much for making these videos. Seriously. I was diagnosed with autism when I was a child (I'm 23 now) and for my ENTIRE life I've pretty much refused to believe that I'm autistic. I guess recently it's kind of hit me in the face recently.. Much like you and many other people with autism I don't have any close friends.

    Keep being awesome!

  • Don't ever come to the gables in Huntington beach where I am

In survival mode and is ruled by lucifer Aka desirae Nicole macias who thinks that the elderly are expendable and ought to be allowed to die when they get sick, I live in this complex which she rules I've with an iron fisted hand overflowing with hatred towards anyone who does not submit to her will, including drunkenness, homosexuality, child endangerment , even bestiality, where u are either in " her camp" or will pay the consequenc

  • I have a raging case of ADHD and I stim by constantly rocking. It's interesting how similar different points on the spectrum are. Good job with everything, what kind of dog is your hug-giver? How bout featuring him or her in one of your vids?

  • Hello and thank you so much for your video blogs. I am just now trying to learn a little more about aspergers. It appears that it comes in varying degrees and everyone is different yet have things in common. You have done an amazing job communicating and explaining your experience. Your family must be so proud of you. I will add you to my favorites because I want to continue to learn as much as I can and you are a good teacher :o) P.s. I love Elmo too.

  • Under the other video of yours I asked you about music but I think I already know the answer ;) Unlike some other sounds music calms you down. And I must say it actually doesn't suprise me. I don't like loud sounds, they tire me. I hate the radio my mum keeps on all day long and the cars and buses rushing outside my window. I just can't get used to them. But music, often loud rock music, is something I wouldn't be able to exist without =] So in this area I understand you perfectly well :)

  • I am so grateful for your videos. My 12-year old was recently diagnosed with Aspergers. I can't tell you how much your vidoes have helped me and his teachers. Thank you for your honesty. I've been educated by you -- priceless information. I'll be a better mom to my son because of what I'm learning from your YT channel. You are a blessing.

  • i have asbergers too i had trouble with eye contack but now i give eye contack

  • You are amazing! You are so brave and beautiful. I don't have aspergers, but I was homeschooled, and I think being homeschooled is the best thing ever. Public school is really just brutal for kids it seems like.

I love watching your videos and listening to your struggles with aspergers, but also you being you. Because you're really funny, and very articulate.

Keep being yourself! You're really awesome!

  • @Merrygiggle: You are very right about homeschooling. Looking back at my own years in public Elementary and Middle School, I must conclude that the education system as we knew it is generally just a large, over-crowded and unmanageable pig pen that seems more of a bordello or a battlefield than a place for learning, everybody there (including many of the teachers and staff) were more into gossiping and contests.

  • You are great. My son has Aspergers as well as SID. I have enjoyed all of your videos so far. I hope to see more soon.

    ~Meagan

  • i just found this video but am starting to watch all of them. i think its very courageous that you can get out there and talk about this. good for you. and u look super cute in this video =]

  • Sweetie, you are smart and you are beautiful.

  • @jfulbright Thank you so much!

  • Holy crap! All that stuff you were saying about the sticky sensation after getting outta that bath and the noise at dinner! Argh! I has the same problem. I have never formally been diagnosed as being an aspie but I am OCD. Connection, right there! Haha.

  • i know some people dont know how anexity is i have it alot and i think you are a great kid and seem really cool

  • Lol at 1:14 feels like your put in a bubble! whenever i get out of a hot bath i always get a headache and i feel like im going to pass out... it's reall weird...

  • Jaydy11, what you said in the video at 0:52 that area .. about the 2 guys... it's there job. I don't remember quite what it's called, but it's illegal not going to school, so they were probably forcing you to go. I know because they did that to me right before I started homeschooling. =)

  • i cant stand baths

  • i have asbergers too and i miss a lot of school due to anxiety and meltdowns and stuff

  • I like the whole "vents in a bubble" situation with taking baths. I usually just feel really really cold, and I get the sticky thing to, that time right between when you're a little dry and a little wet? That makes me INSANE. Maybe if they invented underarmor gloves, your fingertips wouldn't be cold all the time :3

I FLAP MY WRISTS WHEN I GET EXCITED. I'm all like EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and I'm flapping like an idiot xD I also have sort of a bedtime routine too. (Will continue in another one)

  • Dude i have aspies i was so depressed my freshman year i missed 165 days out of 190 and know im taking meds i should of took my freshman year i play wow and im happy sticking to myself i have friends but really i wouldent call them my fridns just dude i hangout with because they tease me alot

  • i have mild autisum and i hate it so much

  • im home shooled and i was in year 7 . but i never got bullyed i was 6 foot on the dot so i stuck up for people with it also im quiet similar to you . but im a boy :D

  • I believe that I'm an Aspie also. I am quite a bit older than you, but after doing some research on it, I have the majority of the issues of Aspergers and had them as a child. I just never knew what was wrong with me. I can relate to the freezing coldness getting out of a bath - it can be intense. Also water that feels normal to my chest feels like hot oil on my back. I majored in finance in college and I love analyzing corporations. My work does not have much contact with people.

  • @ncash56 okay, first off EVERYBODY hates getting out of a bath, of course its going to be incredibly cold. and hot water is going to feel more intense on your back because you don't have as much sensory receptors on your chest, its the same with going from your hand to your arm. You sound as normal as normal can be to me

  • I never knew what the syndrome was until my friends brother might have it so I was interested but your video was very helpful to have an insight.

  • thank you for making this video in plain and simple english where SOME people can " GET IT " when it come to being an Aspie. My 7 year old son is an Aspie. My family finds it hard to accept him as he is because he is sooooo different than anyone and has serious meltdowns.People labels Aspies as "bad ass kids" and that is so not the case.My son will be 8 in november and he is functioning at a mental age of 4-5.Good luck and I wish you well.

  • Honestly, i've never met an aspie before and all what i thought about them was that they're incapable of any form of social interaction. However, now i realize that i'm wrong. Very wrong.

  • @BLACKXBUTTERFLY97 this wasn't social interaction though, talking to a person and talking to a computer are two very different things.

  • Music calms me down a lot as well, and I sleep with my fan on every night. Helps me fall asleep at night.

  • it wasnt direted by cathy fitzgerald condon

  • I have asbergers 2

  • I know exactly how you feel with the itchy-sweater and bubble feeling.

  • Hello fellow aspie here, I commented on one of your other videos. Music is also something important for me also, I can't live without it. Anyway, I will subscribe to your channel tomorrow (it's 2 am here and I'm on my iPad and for some reason I can't subscribe on it) I look forward to watching more of your videos

  • My cousin has asperger's, I relate to you and feel sorry for you.

  • I agree, music is the best at calming me down too :)

  • I really like your top :)

  • re. you say your prayers....who do you pray to? do you have set words that you pray or do you pray freestyle?

  • have you ever heard of The Listening Program? My OT prescribed it to me. It helps with SID. I too have that. I actually have everything problem-wise that you do which is quite interesting.

  • you are like my TWIN

  • i use poetry

  • Hey! You are very cool person. I don't have AS syndrome but I do have a stutter, that I have had since I was like 3 years old. I think has a kid I had SPD because when I was like 5 yrs until I was in maybe 6th grade I hated the front seams of socks and tags of shirts and I hated touching paper when it was wet.

  • I think sensory overload is a very interesting factor of asbergers. Though I don't understand how the coldness of getting out of a bath can be so intense, I hate that freezing coldness too so I can relate in a way.

Also, I don't mean to offend you if I do in any way, but has anyone ever mistaken you for a cute boy?

That's great that you love music btw.

  • Yes people do...

Music is awesome. PERIOD. <-- see period. :D

  • You are way more intelligent then so called "normal" people. Sadly society has become severely corrupt which makes corruption in the minds of the people, I'm very glad you have a lot to make you happy. I'd say don't let aspergers get you down too much, I don't have it so I have no idea how challenging it is, just don't allow yourself to become too much of a victim to it. Much love and I respect your independence.

  • I don't have AS but i feel the same way about baths as well!

but when i'm on vacation i go into hot tubs cause it's hot outside so i don't get cold.

But this was a very instresting video. I liked it.

  • "it says subscribe for those of you who can't read"

That totally depends on which nation you are from dude, it says "prenmerera" for me :D

  • inactive for 2 months?? Croc, what you don't understand is that it's not all up to me. His father would have to sign off on him getting home or cyber schooled and he will not do that. He won't even accept the child's diagnosis to believe that anything but regular, everybody-does-it-so-you-will-too school would be better for him.

  • He is in 8th - last Friday was a perfect example of how they COULD HAVE helped him. The pep rally is this huge multi-media event and he said it was so painful and he just wanted to cry and run out, but he knew they would force him to stay. Friday night, there was a dance. I was SHOCKED when he said he'd like to try and go and hang out with a few of his friends. We got to the door - music was BANGING out of it... he said, "Nope - can we go home?" We went home.

  • His father would never sign off on it (we're divorced)... he doesn't even believe our son has ASD... he says that the psych. said it was LIKE ASD and on the spectrum, but that our son really has an authority problem. He is SO WRONG.... YOU would know from childhood there are signs. I always said I thought he was autistic, but it didn't fit... ASD fits..... Hey... are there groups for this? Do you go?? We are also in PA.

  • The only thing I can say about schooling is that I feel the socialization of it is so important to my son. We have a very small SD (about 60 to a graduating class) and he has known those kids his whole life. I find it critical to his development to be there with people who at least know him and gain whatever cues he can as to reactions/conversation/etc. He has asked many times for homeschooling, but I just can't do it. My son's y/t s/n is 333puggles333 fyi.

  • You NEED to do homeschooling.. I don't mean to come off rude or whatever but you NEED to. It will really really really benefit him. Have you looked into Cyber School? I live in Pennsylvania and do PA Cyber Charter School. It's a great program.

  • @jaydy11 lol I go to an online school too... The only way I was ever going to get through high school

  • my name is louisa and i have aspergers syndrome i was diagnosed when i was 11 i am nearly 13 now and i have all types of aspergers i dont know anyone who has aspergers but i would really like to maybe email you or add you on msn or somthing so we can talk about it i would really like to speak to someone the same as me i can not give you my email over youtube because everyone will be able to see it so if you want you can comment back i would really like to talk about my life w someone who has it2

  • Makes sense to me :)

  • for shower trouble, try turning the water temperature down slowly until your body is at room temperature or colder at skin level before you get out. i actually feel sweaty for some odd reason when i get out of a nice warm shower. but if i actually brace myself and turn the water to cold (i suggest for you to change the temperature slowly) immediately, i can comfortably get out of the shower.

  • Don't let anybody tell you that you NEED help (as in you have no choice) because I've learned (from personal experiance) that all you have to do is believe your able to do something such as get good grade in school. I do this and I'm in 11th grade hard classes getting straight A's without studying.

  • I wish it was possible to be homeschooled here in Finland, but its not. Well at least it VERY rare (never heard of anyone that way) and difficult.

I have been to many schools and always bullied out of there. Right now Im looking for a special school. For example, a girl in my latest school came to me and said "If you ever look at me again I will crush your head against that wall" or something like that. Niceh.

  • The hearing thing sounds like a terrible thing to deal with!

And I understand how annoying it must be to feel like your skin is really sticky... When I was little I hated washing my hands because they always felt sticky afterwards I used to really complain about it...

  • not at the christian schools that i went to. they took one look at me at around the end of grade 10 after seeing me have a few problems with finishing tests on time and suggested that i take extra time during lunch or flex periods. and technically its better to ignore bullies because if what they are doing doesnt work they will tend to move to someone who the bullying does work on.

  • ugh, they are NOT doing what the Bible says, whatever they say. what part of love one another as yourself dont they get? and i only really started needing help in grade 10 and the teachers were really helpful in explaining things that i didnt understand. they just predicted that grade 11 and the rest of my school life would be harder and i was starting to lag in tests (and got extra time a lot anyways, they just made it official by grade 11) in grade 10. i lag on almost every or every test now.

  • What do the matthew verses you posted say anything bad? they just say not to pray loudly on a street corner showing off that "they are right and everone else is wrong" which is exactly what your christian school christians were doing. and the literal translations of 2 John 7 make a little more sense in saying that some deceivers entered the world and are like that. it also says in verse 12 that we should be kind to such people. and verse 9 just gives us another reason to convert nonbelievers.

  • Corinthians and Deutoronomy verses I mentioned advocate the murder and hostility of non-Christians. And saying "they are right and everyone else is wrong" is of course what my Christian schools were doing AND what you lot tend to do when trying to convert us (without much success obviously).

I believe that they refer to the "believers" when they say to be kind to such people.

  • have you even read the verse? and the corinthians verse means not to be influenced by nonbelievers in the beliefs department, not kill them. and the 2 john verse i mentioned i think may be somewhere else, but it says to be kind to nonbelievers, im sure. i think it was in one of the gospels where it says "do not judge" so were not supposed to say who goes to hell or not. and those lot are not my lot. they were probably Evangelists and/or Baptists. I am Catholic with some Protestant beliefs.

  • Yes. Have you? It doesn't say to be kind to them at all.

  • and yet in Matthew 7:1 it says "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." i think it means that we are not supposed to be all like "you will go to hell" or people will think we are nuts or something, which is what ended up happening. and in romans, it says not to criticize people for believing something different from you. it refers as an example vegitarianism, but criticizing other religions should count under that too.

why did you even go to a christian school if you are not a christian?

  • Comment removed

  • i did not mean any offense; i was just wondering... are your parents Christian? or were there absolutely no affordable schools that were not christian out there? seriously, not trying to offend. its against my religion. and at least i listen to it as i know it unlike the bullies you have met.

  • and the old testament verses dont count for war and killing other religions off because the old testament is just used for proving that the prophecies have been fulfilled in Jesus' coming, for the stuff in Psalms and Proverbs, and for the stuff Abraham and kids did. back then it was kill the other people or be killed yourself.

and i think all unis are required by law to help if you have documentation stating that you need it.

  • Comment removed

  • the jewish bible. Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies for the Messiah and pretty much said to ignore the old laws and stuff and follow a summation of the ten commandments by loving God and everyone else. so the old testament does not count anymore except for the prophecies, psalms, and proverbs.

  • If they say to ignore the old laws then it is clearly not the work of a powerful God - rather a dipshit who loves to control people. And you know what? I think he succeeded in controlling them ;)

God makes Hitler look like a boy scout.

  • He said to ignore the old laws (maybe not in those words, but Paul confirmed it later) because the Jews were trying so hard to obey all of them that they were forgetting the reason why they were obeying them and ended up sinning and treating God like a guarantee even though they repeatedly disobeyed Him. So the rules were simplified into two commandments and a few basic rules that Paul said like dont eat something sacrificed to another god and stuff like that.

  • cont. and God gave us brains and common sense for a reason.

and do NOT compare God to hitler. they are on the complete opposite of the goodness spectrum, well almost. the only being eviller that hitler is the Devil.

  • Hitler was nicer. God killed 1/3 of the population by flood (see Noah's Ark)

If you want to talk more about this I am happy to respond using PMs now on.

  • just for everyone else out there and ill repeat this on your lookup, God destroyed almost all of mankind because they were so far gone in disobedience and evil that God would have to take away their free will to change them, and He does not do that. that would be evil. hitler killed the Jews just because they were Jews and for no other reason. and he slowly killed them too in the gas chambers. at least in the flood, death came faster as the force of the water killed people on impact.

  • Comment removed

  • God "cleansed" the Earth, according to the Bible everyone had become evil. Hitler killed innocent people. dont compare them

  • How did they become evil? What did they do? If they did nothing then it is obvious to me that Hitler is not as bad as God is.

Since you cannot seem to define how the people have become "evil" then they must be innocent.

Hitler killed somewhat a little over 6 million innocent people.

God killed somewhat over 2 billion innocent people.

    Why shouldn't I compare them?

  • Unless you are a devout christian, you shouldn't believe this story anyway, which you aren't.. calling god evil and such. But it is obvious to a neutral that it never happened, its just to show that God will punish christians who break the riles and do not respect him and according to the Bible everyone else had become stray from the rules, except Noah.

6 million jews weren't evil and there was no reasoning for Hitler's destruction and evil intent.

Therefore Hitler wins the evil contest! woo!

  • I'm not believing in him BECAUSE what God is doing is considered "good" by him (of course!) and is considered good by you too.

It is obvious that you haven't read the Bible - and that is quite a disappointment because you are a Christian!

Here's a little known fact - not many Christians have read the Bible completely.

If you are a Christian than you can't just follow half the Bible can't you? That's what many of you are doing.

  • knock it off people

  • I must say that this particular argument has been inactive for 2 months so why worry about it?

  • im just trying to get you to see that the Christians at your schools were not acting like Christians are supposed to act.

  • Your so lucky you get homeschooled. You don't have to deal with stuck ups or back stabbers:/

  • well I used to get bullied and stuff so bad that's why I'm homeschooled

  • My son actually wound up so frustrated last Friday he punched another kid in the stomach. That kid pestered him all day - calling him deranged and so on. At the end of the day, the kid was bugging him again and my son had had it. I don't advocate violence, but when the school won't help you - and the kids just keep going - you can't always tuck your head and hide. He's lucky he didn't get in trouble. What sux is - the other kid wouldn't have been punished for agitating all day.

  • Yes I have experienced similar situations quite regularly and it does suck.

Unfortunately my parents used to consistently go on the side of the enemy and/or the side of the school.

  • MISSY I LOOOOVE YOOOOO! Haha, no really! ^^ I think this is by far the best of your videos - I love it so much I favourited it <3 I think if I wasn't so anxious around my cam I would start a blog too, and teach people all about people like us! It didn't hit me til I saw this video, just how hard a day you have - I just think you do so well to cope and be so lovely to me and Connerrrr hehe, you're my hero ^^ xxx

  • aww I've never been anyones hero before! Thanks for saying nice things =] I think it'd be great if you started making blogs =D

  • Can I say nice things too?

  • yes =P

  • So you're homeschooled?

Well I've been homeschooled all my life..Still being homeschooled until i go to a college when I'm 16 or 17. My mom wants to send me to a public school now for some reason. By the way, good videos :)

  • wow you have mighty struggles to deal with during the day. its is hard for me to know that you go through this. how do your parents handle your sensory issues? what kind of classes do you take for homeschool? do you have any siblings? this is very informative...thanks for sharing :)

  • My parents try really hard to help me with joint compressions and tight hugs, "tacos" (rolling up in a blanket) and swinging. I take just the average classes :) I have a younger brother yes.

    Thanks!
