  • When did they do this video. Me and my group might try this.

  • This is the best thing of any sort ive seen in a long time! Its clasS!!!!!!! :)

  • I love this; it is short and powerful. They make them like this anymore. This makes you Thank God for Good Old Gospel singing. I watch and listen to it over and over!

  • The Dixie Hummingbirds are just plain cool! I love the way they're moving their heads at the end! Hehe...

  • @mahoganycolour please post two of the dixie hummingbirds songs that have been removed. Lord, I want you to help me and I know I've been born again. I was so sorry to see them gone. What a tragedy!!!

  • MEMORIES OF ME AND MY FATHER. WE SANG TOGETHER JUST LIKE THIS. THAT IS THE WAY I WAS BROUGHT UP IN MUSIC. THAT IS STILL MY FOUNDATION TO THIS DAY. I HAVE EVOLVED OF COURSE BUT THIS IS THE MAIN FOCUS ON WHAT AND HOW I DO IT. WITH SPIRIT AND TRUTH. TALENT DOES HELP, BUT THIS IS ANNOINTED STUFF. NO DOUBT. TRUST ME YOU ARE NOT GONNA SEE ANYONE PULLING THIS OFF ANYWHERE OR ANYTIME SOON. IT IS A SHAME BUT I AM MOVING BACK TO CHICAGO TO RENEW THIS TYPE OF SINGING AGAIN. THAT IS WHERE I LEARNED IT .

  • I wonder if there were any white folks there?

    Probably not

  • Precious lord, please load the full video...

  • these boyz we're working!!!!

  • anyone who got the full version to this song

  • Wow

  • Can anyone upload the Dixie Hummingbird "If anybody asks you" I've been looking all over for that song and its driving me nuts. I would appreciate it.

  • Ok I'm gonna brace myself for the negative feedback: But I don't think The Temptations, other Motown groups, or Doo Op groups have anything on these cats vocally. They cant touch them. Old black quartet groups seem to have the best vocalists. ClaudeJeter? FiveBlindBoys? Or the Hummingbirds in this video? Come on man, DavidRuffin aint got nothing for these guys vocally. Plus they're singing about the Lord. I dont know their hearts, but I wouldnt be surprised if God smiles listening to them.

  • True performers the most harsh conditions. Those lights had to be killin them.I think 1966 thats when Tucker started to where glasses.

  • I was there! So were the Swan Silvertones and Dorothy Lovecoates. It was incredible, first gospel show I ever saw!

  • @zydecodave1 Amazing!

  • Newport Jazz Festival, 1966 They were on a rotating program with the Swan Silvertones and Dorthy Love Coates' Gospel Harmonettes. After the "Birds" sang "I've Got So Much To Shout About" The audience wouldn't let them leave the stage for the next act. James B. Davis (barritone) had to beg the people to let them go!

  • This is a legendary group. To tell you the truth, this one of grandmother's favorite groups. After she passed, I got her albums. The Dixie Hummingbirds was in her album collection. I have been adding to the collection. My grandpa also liked the group. May they both rest in peace. Thank you for the collection.

  • I got some sad news. Ira Tucker, who is the lead singer of the Dixie Hummingbirds, passed away today. Please pray for the family who is mourning the lost. The news came to me 3 hours ago and Mr. Tucker and his family lives next door to me so please pray

  • Sad news indeed. Where and when is the funeral and is the public welcome?

  • I will let you know A.S.A.P

  • Think of Mr. Ira Tucker often. He was one of the very greatest, from an era of gospel GIANTS. Yes, they don't make them like that anymore, and it's our loss.
