  • Cracks me up that only once in the song did they actually pronounce Massachusetts

    correctly.

  • I wonder how these lyrics came about?

  • You're a real gem, dear Robin. Thank you for lighting up the world with your extraordinary talent

  • beautiful song !

  • barry looks good with n with out the whistkers

  • @TheCheetahbabe101 Barry looks like John Bishop there!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBIN

  • REMEMBER SEEING THEM ON TOP OF THE POPS (AUTUMN OF 1967) PERFORMING THIS SONG WHICH HELPED TO LAUNCH THEIR VERY SUCCESSFUL CAREER. WAS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS OF THEIRS SEEING THEM AS A FIVESOME FOUND MYSELF WONDERING WHAT BECAME OF COLIN PETERSON AND VINCE MALONEY (AFTER LEAVING THE BAND) RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT EX-AMEN CORNER MEMBER BLUE WEAVER WAS IN THEIR BACKINB BAND

  • Robin, I love you with all my heart, please get well soon! You are my idol! If you read this, please know that someone cares!

  • @TheOliviaJuice I agree completely.

  • Pensando em Robin, também.

  • Sweet, sweet soul!

  • Robin, please stay with us.

  • I hope you get better soon Robin ;(

  • Great song Robin, a classic.

  • Robin if you read this, take strength from all the fans. We love you.

  • were we really that young once upon a time? I remember it but it seems like a dream. Thinking of you Robin.

  • Get well soon Robin.

  • @oldiesbutgoodies67 No it is not..it was not written until 1967 and the Bee Gees did not tour the USA in 1965, in fact they were still in Australia in 1965

  • Lo máximo Barry

  • Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins, not identical.

  • P.S. How unalike Maurice and Robin were, for twins!

  • I really love Robin's voice, it's one of a kind. The others had/have great voices too, which made them sound awesome together, again one of a kind. I didn't realise until recently that Robin must only have been about 18 when this was recorded. Wow.

  • I remember this song that my sis used to play from her room. He was big but I didn''t know it until 2 yrs later.

  • @BRIAN928S One of those songs I used to hear from my Sis's room too...it was Cream and Jethro Tull from my older Bro's room, and The Bee Gees and Fleetwood Mac from Sis's-quite an education

  • @GalaxyHorse Always loved 'Teacher' from Tull. In college I did some shrooms once and that song was like heaven, funny I remember it clearly. Mac had some seriously great tunes also, both melodramatic and uplifting (Say You Love Me) Lot of those were listened to while stoned. Don't do drugs anymore.

  • Wow es realmente una hermosa cancion

  • i loved maurice =(

  • Awww, this song brings back memories. I wish I had been old enough to go to concerts when these guys were big in the 60s. I wished I had been able to see all the great 60s bands back then, especially the British invasion. Maybe someday they do some shows again.

  • I love this song. Robin had the best voice.

  • Yeah, his name is Colin Petersen. He was an Australian child actor before joining the Gibb brothers and the guitarist, Vince Melouney.

  • Does anyone know the drummers name. Hes right here on You Tube.

  • This was the first ever 45 record I ever bought, Edinburgh 1967. It's still one of my all time favourites, and I love love love Robin Gibb, especially as he's better looking now he's older! Wish I could say the same for me.

  • I notice nobody is making fun of their sideburns - I wonder why

  • I want to go to Massachusetts only for this song.

  • What a lovely song the bee gees are up with the beetles as far as I am corcerned

  • See, they weren't always singing disco crap.

Ironically, this came out just as the Red Sox were winning their "Impossible Dream" Pennant. Let's hope the Yankees make the lights go out in Massachusetts tonight!

  • gotta luv the brothers gibb !!

  • I Love The Bee Gees !!!!!!!!

  • I feel in paradise listening to this song =)

  • best song ever these guys ROCK....!!!!

  • awsome song, just put your feet up and listen to this great song

  • I never knew John Bishop was the lead singer in the Bee Gees ;-)

  • I never knew John Bishop was the lead singer in the Bee Gees ;-)

  • Great song, classic songwriters.

  • I love this song I think it is their best

  • This song is no.74 in the world-all-time-charts #bee #gees

  • My God, I forgot how young they looked, how talented they are, & how well they sang!

What a Gift, a gift to all of US!!

  • This is the best song by the Bee Gees.

  • espetacular, uma canção inesquecivel

  • That turtle-neck wearin' drummer is doin his thing there :)

  • Robin Gibb at his best...

  • Just amazing...

  • I was 14 when I first heard this song and saw my husband to be for the first time and fell in love instantly so have never ever forgotten this song. The glorious 70s and wonderful Bee Gees still in the UK at that time.

  • Bet your a right fat cow now..

  • Wow Barry here looked a bit like Stephen Moyer!!

  • Hanyas vagy? 55-ös? Akkor mi félszavakból is megértjük egymást...

  • Thank You for this classic performance of the Bee Gees "Massachusetts..." Dan O'Nealon.

  • Beautiful, words fail to describe the talent the Bee Gees have, they have no parity!

  • the thumbs down people? Lady gag me fans

  • Sweet New England!

  • I loved this song when I was about 10 and it played in my sis's room.

  • Absolutly amazing voices, the music is low and we can actualy hear the gorgeous sound of the vocals xx

  • What's with the people who vote 'thumbs down'?!

  • @winscott9601 I feel sorry for them:-)

  • @winscott9601 I don't get that either. I mean, what, you found this song by accident and you don't like it? Yeah right.

  • @winscott9601 those that voted Thumbs down are stupid and must be Lady Gaga or snoop dog fans.

  • nostalgia is very good....

  • i'm probably much a metal head and whatnot, but i grew up with this music. it's amazing.

  • i like it....

    what about you???

  • This is the video that did me in. I was 8. It was 1978. I had recently discovered the Bee Gees. This video came on TV...I think it was an advertisement to buy a compilation LP. When my mom told me it was them I didn't believe it. When I saw it again..I knew. One look at Robin's smile and I was a goner. Still am. His smile and voice gives me the shivers the same now as it did all those years ago. I love ya Rob!

  • this music is timeless....forever will be great music

  • I was in a Us Naval Hosp. at Nas Jaxsonville. They were sending me home to Boston. I had heard this song for the first time in the music room. I quickly fell in love with it., It shurley helped geeting me through those hard and painfull months . I had always wanted to thank all the Bee Gees both on her in Earth and of course to the departed ones in Heaven ! thank you all again from Frankie in Boston

  • hermosisimaaa.. cancion..:)

  • This song is so beautiful.

It definetly showed their talent as harmonizers.

You could almost swear that Barry was Andy from a distance.

    What a babe !

  • If you look at all the great harmony bands over the years you see that most of the best have brothers (or sisters) in them and the Bee Gees are a great example.

  • my dearest robin...

  • They all have so much pure talent unlike the bands today that cannot sing or play instruments.

  • wow they were 18; 18; and 21 respectivly;

im the same age and i cant do none of that lol

  • thats when music meant something.not like now where we hear garbage

  • Bee Gees - The Best Ever!

  • @michaellawmingwai Hardly the "best ever," but pretty good, until they later went disco.

  • @Steve915 alright ...if you say so! "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!"... by the same token... preference of music/songs is in THE EARS of the beholder!!! heehee...Cheers!

  • krááááááása a vzpomínky :)

  • Respect! They wrote some great pop songs.

  • sweet tune:)

  • do you ever hear as good of music as they did...i love the bee gees all 5 of them ^^ jk, and this is one of my favorite of theres, or words

  • Little known, they started in the 50's as children. The name and original sound created long before the British invasion after the Beatles arrived. I thought their name, as most groups from back then, was patterned after the Beatles, the sound too. I was shocked to learn, it was the other way around. Master composers, at a young age, and still.

  • One of my favourites!

  • Just kids. Six months after the the Great Flood. Wrote songs beyond their years.

  • Impresionante este video de los Bee Gees, dando a demostrar por qué son y serán uno de los mejores grupos de todas las décadas.

  • The Bee Gees - my Number One Band of All Times!!!

    Countless Bravos to Robin!!!

    Countless Bravos to Barry!!!

    in loving memory of Maurice...

  • Beautiful song.

  • Back when they were great before all that disco crap.

  • @yourtubesteak I like the Disco crap as well! Your'e not my ex-boyfriend by any chance are you?!

  • Where did the time go?

  • Nossa!Saudade!!!!

  • freakin awesome Robin Gibb voice!

    yeah!

  • @ferdzrines954 I'll repeat myself again. I know Robin is not dead, I merely meant may he live in peace.

  • Ancora adesso che ho 55 anni ascoltando questa canzone mi sento un ragazzino

  • is that the drummer from Amen corners?

  • @opticstar2000 you asked is that the drummer from Amen Corner.......no - drummer is Colin Peterson (Petersen?) He was a child actor in Australia prior to being a Bee Gee. He and the other non-Gibb brother (Vince ?) left about the same time, back when the music was still good.....

  • classic!

  • My husband was in boot camp when this song came out. This is one of his favorites. We are from Massachussetts So it realy hit home. themarilou49

  • The best song the Bee Gees ever did. Robin Gibb - Brilliant.

  • Robin, may he live in peace.

  • @1950tomcat Robin is still alive!

  • @17DJLOVER

I know, just meant may he live in peace(:

  • @ferdzrines954 si esta muerto estupido!!!

  • Robin is beautiful<333

  • this song does make me homesick and also reminds me of my best friend Charles who sadly died of a p.e. at age 47

    Miss you Charles !

  • A beutyfull vidio. The smile Robin send from 1.16-1.20 is simply the best.

  • I always loved this song. Makes me homesick though these days as I am far from my home state.

  • some music never dies , love the bee gees

  • Takes me back to great times!

  • The Bee Gees' The Best...THE BEST EVER!!!

  • My first ever 45. cost 6/9 if I remember correctly. a milestone in anyone's life.

Fantastic song, fantastic group. Pure magic!

    I will remember Massachusetts.

  • @Bullonedge Brian Epstein said it was the best record of 1967.

  • It looked like Maurice a little, but they are twins. I could def tell who Barry was tho

  • 名曲だぁね☆

  • Robin Gibb sings the lead in this song

  • @gonzataker I actually think it's Maurice who sings the lead part.

  • @musicluva13579 nope.... its Robin... Maurice didnt get to do lead until closer than clos and man in the middle... and that was waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy after this

  • thank you for posting! such wonderful memories & incredible harmonies - they are all so hot!

  • I'm glad they succeeded... can you imagine them auditioning in front of Simon Cowell?

  • LOL

  • this is the best song of robin gibb in the band

  • In a certain light Robin looks like a young version of Freddie Mercury, know what I mean? Hey check out the song in the song list from the MGM concert 1997 it's unreal so good.

    .

This band is timeless and hope they go on and on and never stop.

  • the bee gees one the greatest bands,I love their beautiful songs, this particular song was one of the ones my mother used to loved.

  • bee gees top(banget)

  • amo a robin gibb lo amoooooooooooooo!!!

  • Fantastic...thanks for posting!

  • good nice !

  • The brothers Gibb were always so special to me, songs like this made other bands seem less than average. There is no other band that even comes close to the Bee Gees in my opinion, past or present.

  • This is EARLY EARLY Bee Gees, they wouldn't peak in popularity until the late 70's at the height of the disco era, this black and white footage was still in the hippie, groovy, peace love era, 68 or 69. Its odd how a band can totally change their style and sound

  • they werent at their peak......but they were already established!

  • Freddy Mercury?

  • How can I get my hair like Robin's?

  • Go on the X Factor LOL

  • Der schönste Titel der drei und das Video ist super erinnert mich an meine Jugend

  • what programme is this?

    not enough closeups of Maurice

  • the rhytm feels soothing to your ear when you hear their musics!!!!! bee gees thanks for the beautiful music you shared!!!1

  • The harmony on this is just spot on

  • amo a robin gibb

  • Senator Ted Kennedy, this song now is for you.

    It's all for you, Teddy.

    The voice for the voiceless.

We love you. And you will see from the sky the progresses of your country!

  • This song is not for that crook...he went where he belongs..all the way to HELL

  • Rest in peace Senator Ted Kennedy. The last of the great and compassionate men that opposed war, hatred and poverty. I pray that Teds' spirit will live on the young people.

  • why where the lights all out ind ma.?

  • @emclaffey because at the time - everyone was going to San Francisco, with flowers in their hair......

  • my, their singer is hot!

  • I love this song,my dad used to play it all the time when i was a little girl

  • Pure genius even at this age, there has always been something magical about this band that has given them the edge over all other bands.

  • Mo is the best looking here with awesome hair and bass guitar!

  • nossa esse video e d+++

  • bee gees were such a nice band before disco

  • So true

  • Very multi-talented too. Even at the height of the disco era, Barry Gibb recorded Rest Your Love on Me which is a country song, a beautiful song which Conway Twitty sang to it too.

  • whos the drumer?
