chalo yaar main aapko iska secret bata deta hoon :) is tarah kay version songs jab aap kisi baRay singer say suntay hain to aapkay dil mein Rafi sahab ki qadar aur ziyada ho jati hay :) Anup JaloTa koi bacha party singer nahi hay. Infact aap yahan youtube par uska aur Ghulam Ali ka aik sath alaap/sargam ka clip dekho :) Wo Ghulam Ali ko hilnay nahi day raha us mein :) Jab aesa professional bhi Rafi ka song na ga sakay to pata chalta hay kay Rafi Sahab kya kamaal Gayak thay :) Hope u got me now.

Indeed you are right doc. Merely attempting someone else well known existing work of art is always taken as an appreciation for the original artist. Rafi would have goosebumps had he heard these guys sing his versions while he was still alive. As I am sure his reaction would have been quite appreciative when Talat did for his numbers!

I think as newer generation, Udit Narayan and Lata's nephew Avinash Mangeshkar both has great voice.

All others like sanu, KK, shaan etc... they all got their own style.

But, than it is my view.

I do not know why but Rafi, Mukesh or Talat children never got as much attention as much their respective dad did.

Dear Derubala.. am not disappointed from new generation in general. I talked specifically about those who attampted to sing Rafi sahab's song. Else Udit Narayan is my fav singer from this generation. Sweet, Romantic, Whispering Melodious Voice he has.

and to me Sonu is the biggest disappointment in Rafi version Songs. I had once purchased some 15-20 audio cds of his version songs.. waste of money, time and attention :( to me he has a teenage voice for mature songs. somewhat like Sajjad Ali.

Did Rafi have a son who is a singer? I read that Rafi Sahib, being a realistic man, set his sons up in business, because the playback scene, even then, was so unsteady. Unless, of course, if you were born as Rafi, Talat, Mukesh, etc.! Even then, their careers rose and fell according to the public's taste.
