Very good video, i like it. Concise, clear information, keep them coming. May I suggest using a secondary light source when u do the close up with the magazine release button, weapon is black and you cant really see the selectors in close-up.
Dude, the reason you see "army guys" do that "curving it in" because of their SNS going through it's stages. In real combat, *not theory*, fine motor skills are the first to go. Hence why some are taught to just rack it and go because it's much easier to rack it than to fumble around for the bolt catch. I'm not sure if American forces are taught that, but we (canadian infantry) are.
wow, you're a douchebag. 1, it is nowhere near a .22. .22 ammo is like 32 grain and .223 is like 55-77grain with about 10 times the powder. And if you wanna get technical, it's not an AR-15 either. AR stands for armalite which was their first take on the m4's. Each manufacturer makes their own designation for the different types of m4 style variants. I dont know what it is, you just piss me off. You fucking POG boot, you dont know what that means? Go ask a Marine/real warfighter
army teaches you to put it on safe before reloading your gun?? is that right?? in a fire fight, they want you to put it on safe, drop the mag, put a new mag in, and then move in to fire position?? is that how you get shot by the bad guy? while you put your gun in safe position while they shoot at you?
@dogbutter99 That's not the way we were trained nor is it the way I train my guys. While on the firing line we only put the weapon on safe when we're finished with a course of fire.
Nice weapon, when it's empty you hear the difference because it doesn't fire. Technically when you get a double feed the bolt doesn't lock back. Although the information in this video isn't necessarily wrong it does seem somewhat misinformative and I feel as though my I.Q. has now dropped a couple points. Also, is the dude wearing pajama pants while making a video? When inserting a magazine you do it however you want, within reason, and whatever works to get it in the mag well.
@Polopalapop If the gun's chamber is not empty then all you have to do is replace the mag. If you chamber another round then the previous round will have been ejected.
Yeastori: after the last round in the mag is fired the bolt is locked back, like with a pistol for example, so when you insert a new mag it is already back. All you need to do is releas it. When the bolt is not back, then you would have to manually cock the gun.
What about the lever on the top, the one that you pull back with two fingers, its located on top of the stock and behind the top railing, I used to always thought that was for getting a new round into the chamber from a new magazine clip
@Polopalapop I believe my other video might explain that, click on the annotation on the top saying that this video has been updated, or follow the link in the description of this video.
In actual marine combat, they DO NOT switch it to safe before they eject the magazine......i dont know where you got your facts from but the index finger is used to push the mag release so there is no risk of accidentally pulling the trigger if there is a chambered round. and what the hell is your foregrip doing right infront of the magazine....the recoil is less when its farther along the lower rail. and since you have no flash hider the recoil would be even more.
1. Uh, I think I actually said that they teach the safety thing in basic but you don't actually do it...
2. Did you just talk about recoil?? You realize the 5.56mm round is technically a .22 caliber centerfire right??? Recoil... LOL!
3. I have a Smith Enterprises Vortex flash hider... one of the most distinct looking flash hiders on the market, if you knew what you're talking about you'd notice it right away...
@slagman5 why does it matter how distinct it looks??? its not made to look ba wat u basically said it u put it on there cuz it looks cool which means it could throw a fireball every round as long as it looks cool lmao
@BDBakaJR Actually the smith vortex is by far the most effective flash hider on the market. He didn't mean distinct because it looks cool, but distinct because it doesn't look like most other flash hiders made.
@slagman5 i agree with everything you said, and I did see that you had that particular style flash hider, but for you to say that a 5.56x45nato is technically a .22 centerfire, is just a bit off. Although the caliber is the same, there is a lot of other factors that play a huge difference. I can elaborate for you.
@3mealsaday I did say "technically" didn't I? Did I mention anything about how much charge it has or how many grains the bullet is? No, I said .22 caliber. What caliber is a 5.56mm roughly? And where does the firing pin hit? Alright, glad that's settled. :-) Obviously it's not the same as a .22LR or something like that, let's not take what I said WAY out of proportion. My point is that it's not exactly a 7.62x51mm in terms of recoil...
@slagman5 For one thing, you're a little pissy when people comment on here. Second, that's not a AR-15 (M-16). It's an M-4. Third, the 5.56 NATO is nowhere near a .22. It's a .223. So, If you wanna be arrogant that's fine but get your facts right.
@mcconnellch Uh... You're joking right? First of all, a M4 is a military designation, meaning it's not the civilian version. The M4 has a shorter barrel and is considered a fully automatic weapon, my AR-15 is a civilian model with a legal 16" barrel and semi-auto only, so no, it's not a M4. And the difference between a .22 and a .223 is exactly 0.003 of an inch in diameter... Yah, NOWHERE NEAR... But I'm the one that needs to get my facts straight... lol
@slagman5 Yes, you need to get your facts right. That .003 of an inch makes a huge difference. If you do have a 16'' barrel it is still short 4'' being the barrel length on a M16 is 20''. Yours is closer to the 14.5" of the M4 (which as a slightly longer barrel and available in semi due to FED laws). To call it an AR-15 or M-16 is incorrect being they are different weapons. My point is, quit being such a prick. If you post a video people are going to comment, suck it up and be respectful.
@slagman5 Ah the M4 is not fully auto-matic to light infantry units, but with Ranger Batts and SF it is,,,,I was in the a AirAssault Infantry unit, we carried the M4 semi-auto and three round burst...And am I the only one who actually served in here?
@NJtriple6 nope, not at all. I know my shit. I carried both weapons when I was in the military and still carry the "private sector modified" version in my current job as a government contractor as well as a firearms instructor for the NGO I work for. I can raddle off the muzzle velocity, rate of fire, and max / effective ranges on command. So, I "briefed" him again on his mistakes. I think it's pointless to have a youtube debate but he's rude and arrogant, big pet peeve.
@mcconnellch Haha, someone's eager to prove themselves, especially for someone who claims to think having a youtube debate is pointless... Hm, words say one thing, actions say another, odd... Anyway, the FACT is, what I have is an AR-15. I say it's a M-16 style weapon because the receiver is the same and the actions are the same, but other than that, it'll never be a M-anything, including M-4. Even if I get a class III and shorten the barrel and change the trigger group, it's still not a M4...
@slagman5 If you open your video calling it an M16, you've introduced the M element then argue it well never be an "M anything" it's a bit of a contradiction don't ya think? Some weapons will carry over their military classification into the private sector (such as the M1911 which has just recently been given the new distinction of M45. Some companies, such as bushmaster, still give the M4 Type designation such as the MOE they produce. So, you can not like the letter M but it changes nothing.
@slagman5 You're obvliously not able to comprehend the point. So, I'll try to make it a bit more crystal. Yeah, these youtube pissing contest are a bit of a waste of time but I have a huge pet peeve for someone who puts on an instructional video tries to act dialed in and is wrong then instead of manning up and being respectful, you act like you're on the rag and turn into a cocky prick. I wouldn't have said anything... just chucked and moved on then I saw your comments and that is a no go.
@mcconnellch Wow, seriously, get a life dude. You just posted like 46 times in a row here. Someone has a chip on his shoulder. Go get a girlfriend or something... Don't worry, she won't know you're an internet troll unless you tell her...
@mcconnellch Yeah your a dumbass your the one who needs to get your facts straight i have an AR-15 (M4) and all i have to do to make it shoot .22 LR is change the bolt. same upper, same lower different bolt and mag sooo how is that no where near 5.56 or .223????????
@rudybeatskcazm7 The fact that you have to change the bolt proves the point of the conversation of the 5.56 not being the TECHNICAL counterpart of the .22. Size doesnt say much, weight on the other hand translates into force.
the standard .223 JHP uses a 36gr bullet with 1,124lbs of force!
the standard .22LR JHP uses a 31gr bullet with 104lbs of force
the standard .223 can handle up to a 77gr bullet whereas the .22lr only goes to 40gr. "No where near" is a relative statement.
@rudybeatskcazm7 I appreciate your comment though and I am aware of the compatibility such as the compatibility of the 38 and 40 with crimping but it doesn't make it the same round.
@filmfanatic711 A flash hider has nothing to do with recoil, its sole purpose is to break up muzzle flash. A muzzle brake, is what is used to reduce felt recoil, but usually at the expense of flash reduction. But I guess you knew that since your a weapons expert right?
What is this video for ? Teaching bad guys how to use american weapon after he fucking killed an american soldier ? or showing criminal how to use a stealing ar15 ? If they own a damn ar 15 they would know these shit by now. Sorry no offense just my opinion.
@slagman5 hey there acctuly is an airsoft gun that reallistic (im an airsofter) it called a systema ptw(it $1956) it a wepons traning gun used to train police and stuff it has a bolt catch that gose all the way back and you cant press the trigger unless you reales the bolt i know a decmt amount about guns and my favorite gunis an m4 ive never head one or fried one i have toch and seen it up close but true it cant be airsoft if not it would have airsoft company trade marks and mw2 sucks
@dillllon3 Right, cause the Rangers are any better? Marines have a much bloodier history than the Rangers. Pointe du Hoc? Normandy? Try facing camouflaged enemies on the islands of the Pacific.
yeah rangers are special forces dumb shit, marine bootcamp is 13 weeks comparied to the armys 9. look up 101 rasons to love your corps and you will relize
i dunno if this was to me or not...but i no army is 9 weeks, but the 2 extra weeks in marine bc is mostly yelling...and i was simply stating the fact that marines are it...u dont move up there....in the army u can be all u can be...and make something of urself instead of these sorry ass marines my way that try and dodge active duty and come back and mistreat their woman.
The Army doesnt train us to drop the mag on the ground. When we trained with the SAS, three of our best got there ass kicked for dropping an empty mag.
yea right, looks like marines do not know how to use grammar? anyways, the marines are just foot soldiers nothing special. the army is actually worth something, army ranger lead the way buddy....and sapper leaders clear the way...marines GET IN THE WAY!!!!
@SpdDemon69- From what I've heard the marines are more strict on their standards than the army.. My bro in law is in the marines and his buddy went to the army cuz he was too fat.. Also marines are usually the first into a hostile environment and train for amphibious situations and are weaved in with the navy where as army is more connected with the airforce. Either way they're all on the same "team" and do their jobs. Personally I'd go Marines if I enlisted but I'm to fat and 26yr old so ya.
yes, marines are "expendable"...first to fight but if i remember in iraq it was army having to save their ass....also in fallujah the marines had tanks doing all the dirty work. the army is more strict i believe as far as min requirements go. Marines if u wanna be the gung ho foot soldier, army if u wanna move up in life. by the way first to fight isn't a bad thing...think of the special forces who go alone....recon and all that. navy or army....
Thats f'ed up to say they're expendable dude.. Anyways marines are so to speak the tip of the arrow and the army usually backs up the covered ground as the marines push on.. Marines are usually composed of smaller more mobile units to cover ground fast where the army is there to secure control territory. Of course army ranges, special forces etc aren't your typical grunts but either way dude I give props to all fields of the US defense because they risk their asses for us.
first off i never said they are expendable....thats y i put it in quotes, thats what a marine drill instructor said on parris island. and they are not risking their asses for us....they are risking their asses for the dumb ass iraqis...our armies fight more for others then they do for us. i give props to all, but the marines are not the force they used to be. in fallujah the army and marines were both on the same line. only things marines brag about are their "boot camp" and first to fight
Anybody heard/believe that it is abusive to release the bolt quickly like that? Is it better to let it go gently while using the charging handle to ease it forward? I've seen some guys do this before and wasn't sure if it actually matters
Only ease it forward if closing the weapon while EMPTY. NEVER LOAD your weapon while "easing" the bolt forward. The round might not chamber completely and can cause it to misfire, or even even worse, set off a round that isn't fully chambered which can explode out and cause serious injury or death. Haven't heard of this happening with this weapon system thanks to the rotating locking bolt system, but still, misfires suck. You want it to slam forward with force to load your rounds.
I was refering to when the rifle is empty. Slagman5 answered it for the most part. Can anyone explain the reasoning behind this? I can imagine the bcg slams forward with no resistance, slamming the bolt into the lugs on the barrel extension, causing weakening over time. I can't imagine the difference compared to regular use with a round being chambered Does the head of the casing disallow the bolt from hitting the barrel extension directly?
@littlesurfer519 it assures proper loading and helps in case there any dirt or sand that might be stuck in there. its not going to hurt the rifle its designed for it. it helps by making sure the bolt completely engages and not just part of the way
A well built rifle will literally handle thousands upon thousands of bolt slams. It won't hurt them at all, assuming your rifle is built from quality components.
I suppose it seems somewhat counter-intuitive, but even with the resistance from a cartridge being chambered, firing the rifle will be putting much more stress on the rifle overall.
And no, the head of the casing doesn't stop the bolt from hitting the barrel extension.
You would NEVER drop your mag on the ground like that! You have a drop pouch. Take a BEGINNERS tactical cores kid. You will learn a lot, and have a lot of fun. Also you wont find yourself posting lame youtube vid with incorrect info.
ps. no i really don't have anything better to do right now.
He's right about not putting the safety on while reloading. It's a waste of time, plus if you need to reload then that's because you were shooting at something, why would you want to put safety on? Avoid an accidental discharge at your target? Plus you never ever point your gun at others, so really safety is waste of time while reloading.
a buddy of mine got shot during a live fire drill because someone didn't put their safety on. he was fine but it isn't going to slow you down a whole lot so why not throw it on
Were's talking about reloading here, not about walking around in the field or stuff like that. If you're not firing/reloading/aiming at an ennemy or potential target, then yes you should always have safety on. But if that guy you mentionned pointed his gun where's he was supposed to (like NOT at your friend) this would never happen while reloading or doing an immediate action. Many recruits are really bad/dangerous with guns at first, so army tells them to put the safety nearly all the time.
@poolplayer2093 ar-15s aren't too heavy dude. I'm more thin than that guy and I can hold it with one hand like a pistol for a while before my arm gets fatigued.
i know i was only talking about him because he keeps raising it every time he has to hold it with 1 hand. i've handled an m16 before i know they're not that heavy
taking the safety off while reloading is THE MOST ignorant thing u can do...i am army infantry and wether ur in basic or the heat of battle u safe it.quick reload btw u can actually (with practice) keep the weapon pointed straight at ur target without canting the weapon even 1 degree while reloading.
At least I don't troll around youtube making racial remarks to make myself feel superior by birth... I mean, what kind of loser does that??? Oh wait... lol
I don't even know what it means to "feel hardcore." I shoot as a hobby... Thus why you don't see any videos of mine put to heavy metal or some crap like that to be "cool."
Very good video, i like it. Concise, clear information, keep them coming. May I suggest using a secondary light source when u do the close up with the magazine release button, weapon is black and you cant really see the selectors in close-up.

@mcconnellch yea but you said a .22 is no where near a 5.56 or .223
rudybeatskcazm7 1 year ago
@slagman5 Would you consider an M4 better?
keen125 1 year ago
@mcconnellch Yeah your a dumbass your the one who needs to get your facts straight i have an AR-15 (M4) and all i have to do to make it shoot .22 LR is change the bolt. same upper, same lower different bolt and mag sooo how is that no where near 5.56 or .223????????
rudybeatskcazm7 1 year ago
@rudybeatskcazm7 The fact that you have to change the bolt proves the point of the conversation of the 5.56 not being the TECHNICAL counterpart of the .22. Size doesnt say much, weight on the other hand translates into force.
the standard .223 JHP uses a 36gr bullet with 1,124lbs of force!
the standard .22LR JHP uses a 31gr bullet with 104lbs of force
the standard .223 can handle up to a 77gr bullet whereas the .22lr only goes to 40gr. "No where near" is a relative statement.
mcconnellch 1 year ago
@rudybeatskcazm7 I appreciate your comment though and I am aware of the compatibility such as the compatibility of the 38 and 40 with crimping but it doesn't make it the same round.

yea right, looks like marines do not know how to use grammar? anyways, the marines are just foot soldiers nothing special. the army is actually worth something, army ranger lead the way buddy....and sapper leaders clear the way...marines GET IN THE WAY!!!!
SpdDemon69 1 year ago
@SpdDemon69- From what I've heard the marines are more strict on their standards than the army.. My bro in law is in the marines and his buddy went to the army cuz he was too fat.. Also marines are usually the first into a hostile environment and train for amphibious situations and are weaved in with the navy where as army is more connected with the airforce. Either way they're all on the same "team" and do their jobs. Personally I'd go Marines if I enlisted but I'm to fat and 26yr old so ya.
mixwell1983 1 year ago
yes, marines are "expendable"...first to fight but if i remember in iraq it was army having to save their ass....also in fallujah the marines had tanks doing all the dirty work. the army is more strict i believe as far as min requirements go. Marines if u wanna be the gung ho foot soldier, army if u wanna move up in life. by the way first to fight isn't a bad thing...think of the special forces who go alone....recon and all that. navy or army....
SpdDemon69 1 year ago
Thats f'ed up to say they're expendable dude.. Anyways marines are so to speak the tip of the arrow and the army usually backs up the covered ground as the marines push on.. Marines are usually composed of smaller more mobile units to cover ground fast where the army is there to secure control territory. Of course army ranges, special forces etc aren't your typical grunts but either way dude I give props to all fields of the US defense because they risk their asses for us.
mixwell1983 1 year ago
first off i never said they are expendable....thats y i put it in quotes, thats what a marine drill instructor said on parris island. and they are not risking their asses for us....they are risking their asses for the dumb ass iraqis...our armies fight more for others then they do for us. i give props to all, but the marines are not the force they used to be. in fallujah the army and marines were both on the same line. only things marines brag about are their "boot camp" and first to fight
SpdDemon69 1 year ago
I really like this rifle. Quick question, though:
Does the Army teach you to drop empty magazines like that?
DDTea 1 year ago
Anybody heard/believe that it is abusive to release the bolt quickly like that? Is it better to let it go gently while using the charging handle to ease it forward? I've seen some guys do this before and wasn't sure if it actually matters
littlesurfer519 1 year ago
Only ease it forward if closing the weapon while EMPTY. NEVER LOAD your weapon while "easing" the bolt forward. The round might not chamber completely and can cause it to misfire, or even even worse, set off a round that isn't fully chambered which can explode out and cause serious injury or death. Haven't heard of this happening with this weapon system thanks to the rotating locking bolt system, but still, misfires suck. You want it to slam forward with force to load your rounds.
slagman5 1 year ago
But yes, while it's empty, it's better to ease it forward to close the bolt.
slagman5 1 year ago
@littlesurfer519 dude you want to slam that round home if that answers your question. gently wont chamber the round
redmule02 1 year ago
I was refering to when the rifle is empty. Slagman5 answered it for the most part. Can anyone explain the reasoning behind this? I can imagine the bcg slams forward with no resistance, slamming the bolt into the lugs on the barrel extension, causing weakening over time. I can't imagine the difference compared to regular use with a round being chambered Does the head of the casing disallow the bolt from hitting the barrel extension directly?
littlesurfer519 1 year ago
@littlesurfer519 it assures proper loading and helps in case there any dirt or sand that might be stuck in there. its not going to hurt the rifle its designed for it. it helps by making sure the bolt completely engages and not just part of the way
redmule02 1 year ago
A well built rifle will literally handle thousands upon thousands of bolt slams. It won't hurt them at all, assuming your rifle is built from quality components.
I suppose it seems somewhat counter-intuitive, but even with the resistance from a cartridge being chambered, firing the rifle will be putting much more stress on the rifle overall.
And no, the head of the casing doesn't stop the bolt from hitting the barrel extension.
opmike343 1 year ago
3 minutes of reloading? dude... mag release button, new mag, slap the mag, slap the bolt release and your good to go.

you telling people not to use their safety isn't cool bro. that's how people accidentally get shot
poolplayer2093 1 year ago
@poolplayer2093 No, that's when you get scared. (Pulp Fiction reference)
Tr0nMakesPr0n 1 year ago
He's right about not putting the safety on while reloading. It's a waste of time, plus if you need to reload then that's because you were shooting at something, why would you want to put safety on? Avoid an accidental discharge at your target? Plus you never ever point your gun at others, so really safety is waste of time while reloading.
xl2k2008 1 year ago
...I meant you never point your gun at others you don't want to shoot at, of course
xl2k2008 1 year ago
a buddy of mine got shot during a live fire drill because someone didn't put their safety on. he was fine but it isn't going to slow you down a whole lot so why not throw it on
poolplayer2093 1 year ago
Were's talking about reloading here, not about walking around in the field or stuff like that. If you're not firing/reloading/aiming at an ennemy or potential target, then yes you should always have safety on. But if that guy you mentionned pointed his gun where's he was supposed to (like NOT at your friend) this would never happen while reloading or doing an immediate action. Many recruits are really bad/dangerous with guns at first, so army tells them to put the safety nearly all the time.
xl2k2008 1 year ago
it was a drill i did in the marine corps. we had to charge the hill use all our ammo and change magazines 3 times
