  • in russia diesel drive u.

  • sounds like a 6v-53 or 6v71 , way to small of a engine in the vid to be a 8v92 , 8v92 would take up all of the enging compartment of a pick up ,u would never fit the clutch housing between the fram rails of a pu , and the drive line would never hold up under the weigth and torque, most 8v-92 are 350 hp and up ,with one turbo stock was 425 hp 1100ftlbs torque and up

  • haha url says VAAAAAAAAAAg

  • what i find most amazing is how these DODGE fans think that CUMMINS is made by dodge.... and the Detroits probobly only had the fuel cranked as to where the cummins im sure has several thousand in modifications.....

  • MOPAR!!!!!

  • hahahahaha that was like the one time that season the moonlight trucks turbo didnt explode at the 310 foot mark lol

  • Those Detroits didn't do as bad as everyone is making it out. Consider the fact that the detroits weigh twices that of the cummins, are two strokes, and are limited on what you can modify due to availability. You can just walk in to napa and ask for a new intake for an ol' detroit. So for what they are they did damn good. 650hp Detroit to 1000hp cummins? Kind of obvious.

  • @sav300 I agree...and yet I don't...if the droit was putting 650horse to the ground, well, that is one clue. However, I don't agree that you can't just go down to the local parts house...We've been married to droit and Terex for years...one thing you come to understand, is that one of the simplest engines known to man, was the 2cycle droit...and for years, was the choice of many truckers. But, in my opinion, the Silver 92(latest version of the 8V92), simply isn't

  • @sav300 isn't the best pulling engine...years ago, 'Droit found out that the wet linered engine wouldn't live, and thus, the life of an 8V92 is significantly shorter than many of the other droits and many other makes in general. Our 475hp silver in a '79 General will go about 1500hours, if you're good to it, in a truck application before it needs some type of "help". In contrast, the 71 series, is a dry sleeve, and nearly bullet proof. The 12V71T in our D800 Terex dozer(D8L or D9N size)

  • @sav300 ...has been almost 15000 hours before it was built by S&S in Denver(granted it's derated to live, at 370hp)...but, keep this in mind, the latest 6V71T's were available in a fire truck originally in the 80's at 310hp, and so, a 12V71T can very easily go to 620hp in an OTR application. Kiewitt had some long nose KW's in the late 70's, with 12V71T's, mated to an Allison...long story short, an 8V92TTA(up to 500hp) is a decent engine, just not in a truck application

  • cummins power bitches!!

  • regardless of the engines i'm guessin' the dodge has a very refined chassis set up i.e. suspension, f/r weight balance, hitching point, gearing, etc.

  • i think the last one was the best...

  • @peterbiltexd With the very short exhaust and high rpm, these V8 Detroits sound too much like big chainsaws. I like the 12V71 sound a lot more.

  • Its funny how all the people are pissed over this, the Cummins won, its a way smaller motor, yeah it weighs less, but the trucks are 4x4, the detroits had an advantage of more weight on the tires, it just show the difference between the engines,

  • haha that was a good running cummins

  • spool !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • get back to me when 5.9s compete in semi classes

  • Traction was the issue. Not power.

  • This is why I spent 10 months building my Cummins powered '78 Bronco.

  • cummins makes an excellent motor as does detroit. too bad nobody runs caterpillers on road. props for them to saying fuck the epa we'll stay off road though

  • Makes me love my Cummins even more. :)

  • FULL PULL!

  • CUMMINS POWER!!!!!

  • Holy fuck!!! That was awesome!! Cummins + first gen=awesome!!

  • how does 736 cubic inches loose so badly to 360?

  • Do the 8v92s put too much weight in the front of the truck?

  • Um, the 8v92 weighs like 4000 pounds dry, vs the 12 valve weighs around 1000.

  • All the trucks in any given class weigh about 8000 pounds and can't go over. The sanctioning body makes it fair as far as thats concerned.

  • @hillpullingteam Sorry to say that 8v92 weighs no where near 4k lbs in fact it weighs only 2350 lbs

  • First gen! gotta love it!

  • the to detroits gave it a run but that cummins just said seeeee ya got to love that cummins power

  • face it, cummings engines are THE best for towing and eeverything else

  • what size injectors in the detroits

  • I expected the bigger detroits to win!

how do they fill in the big holes left by the wheels?!lol.

  • they didnt fill in the holes, you can see the dodge bounce over em taking off an easy 20 feet at least id say more like 50 or 60ft

    @ tpvalley

  • I didnt even see any wheels leave the ground.

  • look at 0:26 then 1:19 and yes he hit

some big holes and bounced pretty hard,

when pulling that much weight you feel it in the cab for sure, lol

  • nah, they just sink.

  • ohhhh yeah ! lol

  • i know ya like the V8s , but check out "extreme mud racing diesel" vid the red chevy, its insane.........

  • lol, hey man them Canadians arent

     all bad....

  • lets see the vid of your moded f250

eating up your moms "stock" 3500....

lol also in europe the women have

(mustaches, and hary arm pitts) so the guys dont have much else to rave about !

  • keep telling Yourself that, lol search cummins in ford swap, then search "powersuck" in dodge swap

    LMAO !

  • V8s just suck ass,they SUCK ASS ! LOL

a true diesel is only an inline diesel........

  • By the way, these must of been two different weight classes taken in the video. There is no way that a 4000 lbs engine + the weight of the truck can compete with a way lighter class, there is just no way.

  • look at the weights on the front of each truck. they weigh in on scales and have to be within a few hundred pounds of eah other. all three trucks weigh close to 8000#s.

  • @Hotrodx199 Are you suer the are 8v92??? Sound like 6-53 or 6-71 to me and they would be much easyer to get in the 8,000lb class , i dont think a 8v92 would fit in the frame of a pickup nore bolt up to a trans that would be light and handel the torque

  • Does anyone know if the eliminator had more weight for those super mods? Cuz ik any truck ulls I've ever been too the super mod class always has more weight than any other class.

Oh and those Detroits sound badass!!

  • they have diffr=errent gears to choose from in the sled to make it heavyer quiker

  • hell if he didnt hit the ruts of the detroit at 1:19 he would have pulled it out of the park ! lol.

  • i love how the crowd gets wound up like the turbo !

  • First of all, the 8v92 weighs 2 tons, around 4000 pounds. And why the fuck would you put weight on the front when there is already weight on the front from the 2 ton engine? The Chevys were too damn heavy for one thing. That's probably why they didn't win because no traction, and the front axle was probably digging into the dirt. A 1000 lbs motor vs 4000 lbs motor, big difference.

  • hate to tell ya but more weight would help them. thats the way it is with any type of sled pulling.

  • its all about weight the heavier the front the better the traction.

  • @Hotrodx199 you serious?the more weight you an have over the front the better you will do in pulling.

  • @Hotrodx199 a jackass who has no clue about 4wd pulling!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Hotrodx199 wow dude really? everything you said about weight was the opposite of the truth

  • @Hotrodx199 Because the rear tires act as a fulcrum, weight on the front increases traction for both the front AND rear tires. Weight on the back wouldn't help as much. Hope that helps you visualize it.

  • Are you guys on acid? For the detriot nut huggers, listen in. Your Detriot diesel engines in those 2 trucks are in the super modified pull because they are heavily modded, there is probably very little left stock on either of those engines... oh and your crap-ass engines were beat out by a Cummins with less than half the displacement. That's right a 359 cu. in. engine beat out your 736 cu. in. engine. Enough said.

  • your a dumb fuck one of those detroit engines was bone stock and the other had some injectors on it. Sorry they don't offer thousands of bolt on performance parts for the detroit. but I would like to see that cummins tow a 80,000 pound loaded trailer up a hill for a couple minutes and then see the detroit . I wonder which will over heat first after pinning it for a few minutes

  • u a dumb fuck da cummins couldnt even get started cause it would have to build up da boost befor it could go wit dat much weight but if it was on dirt it could do it

  • even if I'm wrong and you're right about the mods my main point still stands. That cummins engine is half the size and pulled over 60ft further. The pull wasn't even remotely close.

  • its all about gearing on the road, ive pulled 140,000lbs with an M11 cummins turned up to 375hp

    stock is like 280 @ 2100 rpm

the M11 isnt much more than the 5.9

its around 1000flbs torque the stock

5.9 is around 650, not much,,,,,

    V8s just suck ass sry.

  • the comment below,should have

     been up here..

  • @RLeBar1 you sound like a ricer with a monster turboed 4cyl bragging about beating a mildly modded v8

  • @RLeBar1 Did you hear the turbo on the Cummins? Sounded like a freakin jet turbine. And it sounded like the Detroits just had a blower and no turbo.

  • @RLeBar1 Yep, the 5.9 cummins beat out engines over 10 years older than it that were still designed using 1930's technology. The fact that they are using engines (detroits) for pulling that were designed to run rock steady (NOT MODDED) for a half century at a time without overhauls and still doing decent is a miracle to me. I'm not saying either is better, but the 5.9 cummins isn't even from 99% of the 2 stroke detroit generation period. All 3 are awesome trucks, don't argue apples-oranges

  • Badass

  • heres a video of a cummins that is at its absolute max, ready to blow into a million pieces any second that beats a couple old detroits not because they're old, not because they're junk-because they're stock!! notice how black the smoke is from the cummins? the detroit smoke is transparent? that means no fuel no matter how you slice it!! don't get me wrong, a cummins will make big pwr, but if one of those detroits were turned up even half of what the cummins is it wouldn't even be a contest.

  • Awe boo hoo. Did the cummins hurt your poor little detroit lovin pride? Dude give it up detroit is a pile. and if you think those detroits are stock your smokin crack. c'mon give credit were credit is due. CUMMINS ALL THE WAY. i've seen this thing in action and its amazing. 2 stroke anything is shit.

  • you're stupid. do you know anything about diesels? anything at all? i promise you the only thing done to either of those is the rev limiter is modified. do you know what that means? i bet you're the idiot i see driving around in a 99 ram with a rebel flag sticker in the back window, a chip and giant exhaust blowing smoke everywhere thinking you're badass. hell you're probably the same guy that told me longer stacks give you more power.

  • I have to say, there sure was alot of smoke for just a rev limiter mod, dont you think? Maybe your not the expert you say you are? Bottom line is, your little detriots weren't even close. you lost.

  • Blah, blah blah. Your precious little 2 strokes lost. plain and simple. IN tractor pulling there are no if's. You lost. YOu can always say "yeah, but i had more power i would've won." And if they went to the trouble of puttung that engine in those trucks, why the hell not turn it up? whay do all that just to get beat a pickup with it;s original (but modded) engine? seems like a waste ti me. So maybe they are turned up, you just b-s in' to save face, and they still lost.

  • no way man i drive a 1990 gmc 6.2 all stock of course except for the extra extra long stacks, you know because of the extra power they give ya. gm 6.2 best motor ever made. i wouldn't even need the stacks to out pull those detroits.

  • Seriessixty525, that Cummins is nowhere close to blowing into pieces.

  • the detroits are not stock they've both had allot of work done the cummins just had more.

  • @seriessixty525 when i see a stock detroit that runs like them to ill have 1 but i dont thonk that those are even close to stock

  • @seriessixty525 its alot harder to tell the amount of fuel being pushed through a 2 cycle motor from how much smoke their is, the ratio is alot different, like moonlights truck the cummins pushes a ton of a fuel that being said purely from their displacement and their fuel mods they were pushing probably 3/4-7/8s as much as the cummins. the first one psycho also moves more air than moonlights truck and the fuel atomizes a bit better so its clearer. Not doggin on you or your post, I love GM

Not doggin on you or your post, thumbs up

  • that dodge completely killed both of the other pulls.

  • Ole Faithful gettin it done!!!

  • Chevy**********

  • The 1951 Cevy has a nice body and color

  • those 2stroke detroits sound cool and all but they cant pull themselfs up a hill

  • Thats a statement alright! But you couldn't be more wrong.

  • stock

  • you still couldn't be more wrong. 8v92 is no datsun.

  • wtf are u talking about? datsun?

  • First, a datsun is a tiny little Nissan gas pickup the size of a pineapple... i was saying the 8v92 isn't a small engine.

And perhaps i was harsh. You COULD be more wrong. I just think 8v92 @ +400hp stock and +1200lbs/tq is lots. You must be thinking of a smaller detroit, that's all.

I'm a cummins guy, but 2strokes are sooooo cool.

  • in sled pulling its about tq and i work on trucks and the 2strokes dnt have allot of tq i know wat a 8v92 is lol iv driven a few of em, im not sure the exact number but i know a 425 cat has 1500 1600 ftlbs of tq, and i know that the cummins in this vid is making well over 2000ftlbs

  • i'd agree with those numbers, the 3406F and the C15 make around that power. agreed.

    Cummins makes me tremble.

  • their a detroit both trucks expect the dodge

  • holy fuck. its hard to believe a diesel can turn RPMs like that. BONER!!!!

  • ha ha i know the guy who owns/runs the dodge his name is terry thane and he own the shop that he built that truck in every time he dynos it he consistantly pulls a little over 1150 hp and 2500lb ft and ther is NOTHING stock in that motor

  • if those detroits were stock then the dodge just had a dirty air filter and wore out injectors, thats why the dodge was smokein so bad.

  • no that truck always smokes like that and its purpose built for pulling so its better maintained then most anything out there

  • Cummins = FULL PULL!!!!

  • Man that dodge gives me a hard on!!!

  • the 72 gmc sounded better then the cummins i think. Thing screams like a som bitch.

  • those looked like two different classes of trucks...

  • For one, those detroits were bone stock, nothing has been touched to the pump at all. a 8v92TA silver is rated at 475 hp @ 2100 rpms and like 1450 ft-lbs torque. Now if they were turned up with 115mm injectors they would of beat the shit out of that dodge i imagine. Stock 92 series use 65mm injectors.

  • umm for one how do u know if they where stock and two i really dont think the gmc and chev where stock at all by the way it even said super mod why would anyone enter there truck in the super mod if they didnt have a lil somethin under the hood duh

  • They are stock. Detroits make that much smoke stock. If the kid had 115mm injectors on the jimmy he would of made a hell of alot more smoke then the dodge would of made.

  • i see what u do mean but, black smoke dont always mean anythin theres super mods up around where i live and they have a shit load of stuff done to them and they have there smoke turned down and mabe the guy in the dodge took a better line up the track i mean i get what ur sayin but u just never know unless ur there witch i wasnt so i really cant said anythin

  • The dodge really won because those 8v92's arn't that great on torque. Plus the 92/71 series are ment for medium duty trucks, not for pickups. They weight as much as a elephant putting all the weight on the front and none on the back so its not getting enough tracton on the rear.

  • How much do they weigh? The B series cummins weighs some where between 800 and 1000 lbs depending on version. The B-series was also built for medium duty trucks... and has lead its class for power to wieght ratio for years. You do realise that both of those trucks have wieght racks... up FRONT, so too much wieght up front is NOT the issue.

  • The 8v92's were actually ment for heavy duty trucks like semis. Sorry if i wrote medium duty. they weight about 3810 Lbs each from what i read.

  • Its the super modified class... I've never heard of a stock engine of any sort being put in a modified class vehicle... even the v-12 allisons in the modified tractors are upgraded.

  • How the hell did they fit a 8v92 in a pickup?!

  • They sound better in ways. I would personally like to have a Detroit rather then a cummins. one of the reasons is because they sound cool and you can get jake brakes for them. Just imagine a pickup with jake brakes.

  • You can get exhaust brakes for pick-ups...

  • Those are exhaust brakes. Those are different then a jake brake. A jake brake releases the compression in the selected cylinders as these you need set of different heads. An exhaust brake is a butterfly valve that sits behind the turbo witchs creates alot of back pressure witch helps it slow down. It does not make the bark like the jake brake does.

  • 4k rpms... yeah thats REAL high...

  • Now I know your just talking out of your ass. A 4 stroke diesel is going to sound like a lawnmower but the 2 stroke isn't? That makes a lot of sense... not to mention anyone can tell the difference between the two motors.

  • Those detroits sound like a

lawnmower on speed. Those who say they sound goood must not know what a real diesel sounds like. Detroits are junk... I work on trucks everyday, trust me.

  • lol that cummins was haullin ass

  • The chevy got 260 feet, the gmc got 284 feet, and the dodge got 346 feet. You win by out pulling your competition.

  • nice. love all those diesels sooooot the mother fuken hippies out

  • 8v92 POWER well no torque but definatly HP i own 1

  • 12 valve all the way!

  • yeah! Fuck those 24 valves

  • yeah cummins boys brag it up but put a 3406 cat in one one of them chevys and itll yank that sled all the way to the damn coast line and then some

  • Your comparing a 3406 to a 5.9 Cummins?? And I'm sorry those 8v92s sound like ASS. Regardless, Moonlight Diesel's little 6 banger walked all over the "big" boys.

  • haha hell yeah just sink a 3406 in there, its just a lil big. naw a 3208 would be more comparble w/ the 5.9. but the V-6 and I-6 2 stroke detroits sound much better

  • I have to say the 1st 8V92 sounds way betetr since it revs more but its also sounds better than cummins. but cummins has more torque.

  • omfg those 2 stroke sounds awsome those 8b92 are extremely powerfull at high RPMs!

    AWSOME

  • damn he has about half the cubes

  • CUMMINS POWEEERRRR

  • All three are great looking trucks!
