Old school all the way, it's not scared to play. Who would spend 20k on a truck lift kit just to look at it and wash it and not have fun with it, it looks good don't get me wrong, but I use trucks not look at them and talk about how good look, I'd take that air bagged f250, sell it, and buy 2 green monsters any day.
hi power stroke i want to lift my truck but i want to make sure everything is in the kit ill send you the site i intend to get the kit from but can u tell me if its everything?
BTW i am driving a Ford F 250 1989 5.8 V8 Automatic 2wd

No lift changes ground clearance. The lowest point is on the differential. Lifts allow for bigger tires, that's where the ground clearance comes from.
@rinehart77 That's not true a long travel kit on an IFS increases ground clearance. Also there are specially designed high clearance solid axles. But besides that, you are right:)
That airlift offers zero ground clearance over stock. The Green Monster is the true beast in this clip. But I agree with 318Captain, re-arched springs are the way to go.
That is ridiculous, the ground clearance under there is possibly worse than it was stock due to all of that extra hardware in the undercarriage. The only thing it achieved is making the trucks bumpers higher, which is the least important (functional) part of lifting your truck... I would take the Green Monsters setup any day, looks like it could take WAY more beating.
the way thay did the lift with the green giant is rong he did a add-a-leaf and blocks that is all show and no go the right way to do it is to buy a new set of rearched spring and arch them enuf so you dont have to use blacks
$20,000 and it still can't clear for shit, except maybe the curbs at Wal Mart. I'd rather break the sprung lift if I dick something up while off-roading.
I noticed that the green monster has stacked blocks on the rear.. That is a bad idea and might want to consider going with a cast iron block. of the needed height.... Just a suggestion
While I think that Kelderman system is very well put together and sophisticated, I can not see that working well for off road use. Too much fancy important things hanging down to get smashed on rocks and the like. If you only wanted a show truck or never wanted to off road, the this new thing would be awesome. If the truck is ever gonna see off road use though, I would take that old school system any day.
You beat me to it. When I saw the links hanging WAY down and then the exposed airtanks I was thinking mall crawler/show truck. I would prefer coils but Between those two the leaf springs would be my choice.
I lifted my 2000 F350 12.5" all spring no drop brackets, all I can say is it was cool 7 years ago. Expensive Tires, steering parts, wheel bearings, and having to borrow my dads F150 for using a truck as a truck sucks. Love lifted trucks, but not if it's your daily driver. not to mention a lifted truck in next to impossible to sell, and you don't get a penny back for it.
Because a dealer willing to look past the mods that have been done to that truck is hard to find, especially the exhaust mods. It had a small coolant leak and the boy it belongs to can never get off work and drive it 70 miles to a mod friendly dealer. So one of the guys towed it over for him.
Very interesting - thanks!

@KenMacMillan the air bag are mainly for when ur towing something....i cant stand when i see lifted truck sit heavy in the ass end looks pitful
mudriderfx4 11 months ago
I wouldnt have used blocks. just longer re-arched springs, or springs specifically made for it. But to each their own.

Hmm, either I spend $50 on a jack to jack it up to change the oil, or i spend $20,000 to keep it up. I think I'll go with the $20,000 hahaha

Do the air compressors stay on the whole time it's set on the highest lift setting?
9094design 1 year ago
@9094design the compressors are only on when the the air in the tanks drop below a certain psi.

how do you feel about the use of blocks to lift the rear
trugertha 2 years ago
Its is always nicer and safer with a full kit like the kelderman insted of just longer springs and spacers.
But 20+ thousand. Lottery anybody.
